The purpose of our trip was to bring my eleven year old to Chicago for the first time. I was selective when I chose our hotel. Location was critical as were quality and reputation. The Swissotel checked all of those boxes. The Millennium Park location was excellent for accessing the Mile, Navy Pier and the trains. The hotel itself is modern and beautiful. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds and linens, and we were greeted with smiles from every staff member with whom we came in contact. It's a excellent representation of what you would expect from this brand. The upgraded room and teddy bear for my daughter were sincerely appreciated surprises! Watching my daughter's face as she took in the views of skyscrapers and the lake, made for a priceless memory. Thank you, Swissotel! We'll certainly see you again.

Swissotel Chicago met all my standards for an excellent stay during a conference and for leisure. The location is in downtown and I could walk to many attractions nearby, my room was spacious and had a great view of the Ferris wheel at navy pier and other beautiful rooftops. The robe, the electric kettle to make tea, the spacious desk to work on, I felt very comfortable. I also got to work out at the gym at the top floor which has a great view but more importantly: so much equipment! Loved it! Jeanite from housekeeping was so gracious and kind, she would greet me every morning and asked if I needed anything. There was only one day I needed a room refresh and just wanted my trash empty, new towels and my bed made, didn’t want her or anyone else to waste their time doing extra. Jeanite was so sweet, left me extra toiletries, tidied up more than I needed, but I appreciated it so much, I felt cared for. A woman at check in, I wish I got her name, but she has beautiful, soft “pinkish” hair was so nice and accommodating when I asked if I could do a half hour late check out cause of a meeting I carelessly scheduled on California time and she was so kind and gave me a whole extra hour! I would 100% stay here again! Plus it was so nice and easy getting back to my room in between workshop sessions or if I needed to grab anything.

The location of the hotel is very good, you can reach a lot on foot. The entrance is unkempt: The Bell Boys spit on the floor, are unkemptly dressed and often busy with their mobile phones. In the empty flower beds/wells in front of the hotel, cigarettes are littered with garbage.
At check-in, something is told on the surface and discreetly pointed out to the resort fee (USD 25 per day – The services are a joke: 15 USD F&B credit per day (not cumulative) etc. This resort fee is probably meant to convey to guests that they will receive something).
The room is old and therefore has nothing, if anything, to do with «contemporary», «freshness» or «vitality». You feel like you're in an old Hilton. Cleanliness is below average (hair in bed, stains on the terry linen). Why not manage to install some international sockets in the rooms here? You can do that in Western Europe too...
Switzerland stands for Nespresso and decent coffee. Swissôtel Chicago uses cheap filter coffee pads in the rooms.
Another "highlight" is that not even a bottle of water is provided. Of course, Tetrapacks are available for purchase in the room: 6 USD for 0.5 liters, 10 USD for 1.0 liters – pure rip-off or is this the “vitality” lived by Swissôtel?
The bathroom is dark/old-baked and the shower cubicle is leaky (incorrect construction), so the bathrooms are swollen, but nothing is repaired here.
The gym is generous, but there is no disinfectant material to disinfect the equipment.
Email to the hotel were not answered before arrival. You probably just don't need it, as the location and the name attracts business people and tourists.
Conclusion: I've been to many Swissôtels before, but this in Chicago has nothing to do with Swissôtel. Now I am curious to see what Mr Alfredo Batio answers...

Not the Swissotel I remember upon check in, I noticed we didn't have enough towels for everyone in our room so I requested towels upon our return that evening as we'd been traveling and touring the city. I would have been fine taking them with us but the agent I spoke to made a note and stated he'd send them up. I was tired and had been traveling, over an hour later I was unable to shower because I let my kids and husband use the very incomplete sets we had. I called service and concierge and no one answered. This is a nice hotel and we paid nice rates to stay here, a bare minimum expectation is that every person would have their own, clean towel. The next day I stopped by the front desk and shared my experience with an agent who said she'd send towels right up. Again, after being out all day, we come back to exactly two sets of towels and our room hadn't been serviced (all of last nights towels were still on the floor)?! I went down again and asked to speak to the manager and was questioned about if I had "do not disturb sign out"? Side-eye After we went through that, she said she'd send towels and service up, the housekeeping manager came up and said there was no one to clean the room and again inquired about our "do not disturb" sign, I guess accountability doesn't exist here, another side eye, but says she'll have someone else come bring towels. Sounds like a bunch of excuses for their dropped balls, small things that could've been handled have snowballed into making me regret booking two rooms here for our family trip this weekend. So much for customer service recovery.

We booked the Swissotel chicago after we had an amazing time in one of their partner hotels Novotel Tergarden Berlin. As a family we were there to support my wife in the Chicago marathon
as the hotel is well positioned for the start/finish line. Upon check in at the Swissotel chicago the front of house member of staff informed us that on top of are Bill we also had to pay $20 a night urban fee Plus $100 a night deposit for any damages that might occur in are room during are stay which added another $480 to are bill. We also got informed that if we choose not to need are room cleaned we would receive $10 a day refund after check out. After we received this information I presented the invoice we received for are stay which did not mention the $100 damages fee, after I had explained this to the front of house employee we responded by say that it was a standard free that All hotels charge and that I should of done my research on the Swissotel to know that they change $100 a night damages fee. He then called over his supervisor to talk to me as he told me that talking to my family was above his pay grade. When the supervisor came over she nicely explained what the extra charges were for and I then mentioned to her that she was helpful to my family unlike her
colleague, upon telling her this the her colleague then called me a Liar. After we checked in we just wanted to start are 4 day trip in Chicago, on the first full day we left out the room door card asking for are room not to be cleaned but on the second and third day we took in the card and also phoned the front desk on the third day asking for are room to be cleaned which never happened for the whole time we stayed in the Swissotel as you can imagine we were low on towels and other supplies for the bathroom. As my wife was running the marathon on the Sunday I had stopped by the reception on Friday asking if they were putting on an early breakfast as the marathon runner's had to be at the start area at 5.30 am. I first asked the
breakfast staff and they told me that breakfast was from 6 am and I explained about the marathon which his response was a shrug of his shoulders. I then asked the reception and they confirmed breakfast would be from 6am but advised me to us Dunkin donuts they were open 24h which I did on the Sunday. So on the Sunday I walked to Dunkin donuts to get my wife a bagel before her marathon then returned to the hotel with the bagel. After having breakfast in are room from Dunkin donuts we then headed done out of the hotel at 5am only to find that the hotel were putting on an early breakfast after telling us that they would not have a early marathon breakfast. The bottom line is when you arrive and check in to the Swissotel and they tell you that you need to pay for you room plus a security deposit and a urban fee on top of what you had been quoted just say that is no problem and give them your money because if you question them about any of the extra expenses they will make your stay with them a trip from HELL.

This hotel does not live up to the expectations provided on the Swissotel site in any way. The one nice thing is the fitness center, obviously new. Every window I looked out of was covered in spiders, even on the 29th floor where we stayed. The in-room coffee is awful, only dark roast available and weak, and no decaf tea, and powdered cream. Seriously? Airlines don't even do that anymore. The decor is a mish-mash. Only one robe provided when the reservation said two people, and the one robe had rips in it, as do the duvets. There's no full length mirror. Bathroom counter space is tiny and yet there is both a tub and a separate shower. The shower's shower head doesn't stay up so you literally can't stand underneath it. Just a total disappointment apart from the nice view (viewing it through spiderwebs). Seriously, hire window washers!

Fabulous hotel and hospitality! My husband and I came from the UK for 6 nights to celebrate his 50th birthday. I had been in contact with the lovely Jean prior to arrival and he made sure we had a fantastic room, he had arranged for the biggest slice of chocolate cake and housekeeping had left balloons and other goodies for us. Such a lovely welcome, we can't thank you enough! We had a room on the 32nd floor and it was perfect, comfy and cosy, lovely coffee machine and the views were amazing. We slept like babies. The whole team of staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel was immaculate throughout, and the christmas decorations were starting to go up, and they were beautiful. We had food and drinks at Amuse and at The Palm, and both were very good. The location was perfect, easy walking distance to most things (weather permitting of course) taxis are readily available though for the wet and windy days! Hopefully, we will be back to see you again someday

I cannot say enough good things about my recent stay at the Swissotel Chicago. The location is perfect, easily walkable to every major tourist site. The views of the lake and river are incomparable. Our room was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, and the one time we had to call down to housekeeping for additional bath products, they were at our door in 5 minutes. Special shout-out to Melissa Marion, the Executive Operations Administrator & Loyalty Program Manager, who was so beautifully responsive to emails and went above and beyond to make our stay nothing short of magical. If you want a first-class experience in the best location in the (most beautiful, in my opinion) city, please stay at Swissotel.

Checkin process was seamless and I was charged a fees for asking for an early check in, which is “fair”. I went to my room and the room key didn’t work. My first response was to go down to lobby but the elevator switch didn’t work either. Thankfully there was a phone and I connected with a service person. The service person was empathetic and helped me get in my room. He explained that the battery of the door lock will need to be replaced and he would send a tech (who did fix the access in next 20 mins). He also explained that elevator buttons are broken and Otis has been notified and I was asked to used the service elevator (which I did for next 4 days of my stay). The room service did not happen the next day and happened only once during my 3 night stay.

Not by anyone from the hotel. You will need to make your own arrangements.
From personal experience the pre-booked car service (link on O'Hare/Midway website)/is quite expensive. You are better off taking a cab or even better the 'L'.
There are more places to choose from in the Chicago area.
