This made a perfect home away from home near the Magnificent Mile and the Loop. My room was comfortable and stylishly decorated. I would have liked a little more light in the bathroom but the room and bath were large and well-appointed. I appreciated all the quirky touches. This hotel provides coffee and water stations in the lobby and Mel, the adjacent cafe, is a great place to get breakfast or lunch. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located near Millenium Park and other desirable sites. The hotel has a restaurant attached that serves excellent breakfasts. The city metro system is close by and getting to the hotel from O’Hare airport is piece of cake on the Blue Line, only a couple blocks from the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and large. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Next time I’m in Chicago, the Hotel Blake would be my first choice.

I was worried when we couldn't stay at our usual hotel on Michigan Ave. I needn't be. This neighbourhood, Printers' Row in the South Loop, exceeded my dreams. Beautiful buildings to gawk at, the hotel surpassed my expectations in it's authenticity to it's roots. Don't even get me started about the STAFF! WOW! So quick to offer recommendations for food that were spot on. The history combined with the location just made this the perfect spot for our explorations. Yes we WALKED a lot (but they say that's good for us) however, if you can't, cabs are readily available and inexpensive. I was worried we would be in an unsafe neighbourhood, but I felt more comfortable here than on Michigan Ave (no disrespect - just a different vibe). Loved that in the evening people were out walking their dogs, strolling, stopping for a drink or dinner in the many wonderful establishments. Top NOTCH, total South Loop all the way!

I enjoyed my stay at The Blake. Upfront – it is pricey. The room was clean and modern. The view from the top floor (where the ice machine is) and the gym are outstanding. My room view of a wall, not so much but I was not there for the view. I felt safe. Coming to move my college student into school, the minivan was packed from floor to roof, no windows to see out of! I felt safe with the valet taking it for the evening and parking it in their secured area. That minivan came back full of the junk early the next morning to move it in. (School only gave 20 minutes to unload) and I was back within 30 minutes dropping off the empty mini van to the valet! Super easy and walked back to the college dorm to finish moving my “baby” in. *** If you have challenges with mobility, even with a cane or walker, and/or stairs are difficult, make sure you request a handicapped friendly room and let booking and front desk know *** The Blake has taken over several buildings on the block so the floors do not align with each other. Similar to European hotels, there are several stairs up and down on each floor. There are several rooms that are on the same level of the elevator (that is what you would want to request) and more hotel rooms that are either up or down a few stairs. Doormen and valet are super friendly. The concierge extremely helpful too. I took the mini van out of valet several times in one day with the move-in process, and it was not issue at all. I think all the hotels in the South Loop are going to cost you way more than expected. So I cannot comment as to value for your money. But I did enjoy this hotel, the people, and location for my purposes of college move in. In the mornings there is coffee (I did not have any) and afternoons there is ice cold plan water and berry infused water (which was refreshing). The lobby is bustling with people. But there are cozy nooks to relax in with lots of seating. For college parents that may be doing a search for hotels – The Blake is not even a 5 minute walk from The University Center. You can park for the valet price of $55 a day; extremely convenient. You are near the many campuses to walk to. You can easily take the car out of valet to do grocery shopping. There is a grocery store and a Target “south” that have free parking lots to stock up on. You can walk too. For UC move-in, I recommend this hotel for the valet, convenience, and safe feeling. This is my second South Loop hotel (stayed at another for orientation) and there is reserved Valet Parking lane. The other hotel did not and you park on the street and hope everyone is paying attention behind you. The Blake’s reserved lane i

Great hotel in the Loop to stay at. The room had 2 queen beds and a huge bathroom with 2 sinks. Wifi worked well. Place was very clean and quiet. Hotel is located in a quiet part of the Loop. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant in the building that is apparently quite good that we did not try. Subway stop 5 min walk.

Now I know that companies really do pay for reviews. That's what I based my decision on to stay here. BIG MISTAKE. They do NOT have a bar. They do NOT have a restaurant. They don't even have water in their vending machines so if you arrive at night, forget anything to eat or drink. And there's nothing open after nine in the area. They do have incredibly hot and noisy rooms. And if you're lucky enough to be on the seventh floor like I was, you have to get off at the shared 7/8th floor from the elevator and carry your bags down stairs. I booked two rooms for three nights. Stayed a total of 45 minutes in room one - never stepped foot in room two and was charged $1,263.18. There are tons of beautiful hotels to stay at in Chicago. Don't ruin your trip by staying at this one!

Lovely boutique hotel, located in the Printer's Row, within walking of Millennium Park and about a mile walk to the RiverWalk. Easily accessible to subways. The room was small, but had a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker. The restaurant at the hotel had an excellent breakfast with an extensive menu.

Hotel Blake was a perfect base of operations for our weeklong stay in Chicago. Location was on our near numerous CTA bus routes and the "L." Staff was very friendly and courteous. Our hotel room was spacious, clean, and quiet; it was also nice having the room made/cleaned up every day by the housekeeping staff (our stay was a one-week time share exchange). Hotel is also walking distance to many restaurants and to many of the great things to see and do in Chicago. If/when we go back, will certainly make Hotel Blake our place to stay.
