This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park offers a prime location that guests frequently applaud, providing easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. While the rooms are noted for their spaciousness, many travelers point out that the decor feels outdated and the lack of certain amenities—such as fridges—along with unexpected fees, detract from the overall experience. The cleanliness of the hotel is generally appreciated, though some guests have raised concerns about housekeeping.
Service receives mixed reviews with staff described as friendly and professional, yet some guests experience lapses in service efficiency. Additionally, the 'urban experience' charges and high-priced amenities contribute to a sense of diminished value for money.

For our 16 year anniversary, a Father’s Day treat to myself and our first major outing since covid 19, we booked a room at the fair Fairmont hotel. Arrival was easy valet is off the Main Street so you could take your time getting in and out with items. Staff was super friendly and accommodating, every in and out of the building we were greeted and welcomed back. It was acknowledged that I was part of the loyalty program immediately. I had requested a suit upgrade online before our visit and was able to receive it for a small amount more. Totally with it! Super fast elevator, never had to wait! The signature suite was on the 31st floor and had the most spectacular view of the park. The pictures online do not do it justice, so much room! Big closet nice wet bar, regular tv, and the tv is equipped for netflix. Just log into your account. Windows open which is a perk that high up! Nice long deep soaking tub! Continuous hot water!!!!!! Remote controls were individually wrapped for safety and housekeeping was excellent. Comfortable bed and pillows and quite. We were also treated to fireworks our second night there. We stayed across the street at Blue Aqua three years earlier for my wife’s 40th and the stay cost about $300 more for a smaller room and less accommodating staff. Super lengthy review, but their was so much joy that came with this stay! We will be back again. Thank you!

First off, the positives. As one expects from a Fairmont, the customer service at this hotel is excellent. I needed two things printed even though the business center at the hotel was closed, and Alexander McAndrew at the front desk kindly asked me to email them to him and printed them within a couple minutes. The lobby and restaurant at the hotel are nicely appointed, and the food in the restaurant (while not cheap) was surprisingly creative and well-prepared. The hotel's location is perfect for personal or business travel in Chicago.
At the same time, however, I found the rooms themselves to be underwhelming. We had a large group, so I got to see both a suite and a deluxe room. While both had fabulous views of the city, furniture was drab and lacked personality. The bureau in my room was made of particle board and very worn. It looked more like furniture one might expect to see at a Red Roof Inn than at the Fairmont. The white bedspread in my room had a vague stain on the side of it, which the hotel had obviously tried to remove without complete success. Bathroom fixtures were quite dated.
It seems like the hotel's staff are doing the best they can with what they have, but Fairmont is one of the world's great luxury brands. In my view, this hotel's current physical plant falls below Fairmont standards.

Everything about this hotel was great from the friendliness of the staff to the amazing views from the room. The suite that we checked into was nice a spacious but needed some TLC and better cleaning. The paint was falling off the walls which was very noticeable. There was also a party in the room prior to us checking in, which was evident by all the tape that was still on the wall. Again, when you are staying at a 4 Star hotel, you’d expect the room to be in much better condition.

We returned here having a very enjoyable trip in Nov 2019, and we were looking forward to staying there for Thanksgiving week 2021. Big mistake .
We booked a deluxe room,. There is no other way to describe it, it was dirty and needed a good clean. Dirty grimy baseboards, stained bath tub, dirty tiles, stained duvet, stained towels. These were the clearly visible things, I don’t want to think about anything less visible. I took photos and went back to the front desk, the attendant was horrified and went to get a manager. The manager appeared and without looking at the photos was abrasive and dismissive. She curtly offered to move us, but I requested to be shown the room first as I was not hauling my family from room to room. I was shown to another room, first impression was not good as there was a large squashed bug smeared across the door. I went in, this room was a little cleaner than our assigned room, but still needed attention. I decided that, as an alternative room was going to need cleaned that we would stay in our assigned room and they could clean that. Please see attached photos.
Please also take care when purchasing items from the to go area, I was given a pack of Miss Vickie’s chips which were best before Sept 2021, 8 weeks out of date.
The food in the Columbus Tap restaurant was overpriced and mediocre, and served the same menu every day, no specials to mix it up a bit. The servers for the most part were pleasant.
On a positive note they have done the foyer up beautifully for the holidays. If only they invested the same care and attention in the rooms.

The Fairmont Hotel was good for a multi-night business stay. The property and rooms were clean and classy. The rooms were very big, especially considering its location in one of the biggest cities in the world. The front desk was super responsive to a handful of requests (including more coffee), and room service was extremely quick (and very, very tasty....yes, expensive, but large sandwich size, and quite good). My biggest gripe was that there was no in-room fridge; this was very inconvenient. Fortunately, I had a collapsible cooler with me, and was able to keep some food and leftovers generally cool with ice and the cooler in the sink...but this was very inconvenient. Not sure why there were no fridges provided....other than that item, it was a very good stay.

The staff are all friendly but the service is not what I have come to expect from luxury hotels. I (finally) complained about my guest next door were loud and kept ringing my doorbell and knocking when I stopped answering the doorbell. This went on for hours after 9pm Friday night until I threatened to call security. Then started ringing my door bell again at 6am. I called front desk and they sent someone who I met at the door and he stood by our doors and listened for about 15 minutes then called me and I explained the details. He said he would pass it on to Head of Security. I expected the hotel to immediately knock on the door and resolve the problem. I stayed in a Signature View room and at check-in I paid extra to upgrade to a room on one of the top floors. Consequently, I expect certain basics, such as reasonable quiet and basic housekeeping. I should mention I also was not impressed by housekeeping especially since I tipped them daily and I am OCD so excessively tidy and I intentionally try to make their hard jobs as easy as possible. To my chagrin, they did not replace the bag inside the ice bucket nor re-tie the cord on my iron. I used the hotel’s disposable shower cap, it was not replaced. The bath robes seemed course against my skin not soft as in other luxury hotel rooms.

Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful - and great accommodations. I was surprised at how well laid out the room was, and it didn't feel cramped like most city hotels. Also, the food was excellent at the restaurant, the room service, and the events held at the hotel. What more can you ask for?

Upon arriving at the Fairmont after missing my flight due to an airline mishap, I was dead tired. Kenan was very friendly and personable while checking me in. However, after getting to my room, unpacking and having a need to sleep, the sink in the bathroom was backed up. The front desk was very accommodating assigning me another room but I had to get dressed and pack up again to move to my new room on the 26th floor. Upon arriving on the 26th floor, I met housekeeper Bertha who was attending to the room next door. Bertha was a total sweetheart and her friendliness towards me during my entire stay was appreciated. The Columbus Tap had a great staff for breakfast. Marisa Nicholas, and Moe went out of their way to make my dining experience enjoyable. In the evening, I went down to the Columbus Tap to order takeout and was attended by Shea who was extremely nice and stopped to chat with me a bit. However, I had an issue with my bill. Due to a change over in the Fairmont's system, I was charged twice for incidentals. The charge was immediately credited back to my account but it was an issue that should not have happened. When I checked out EARLY on 11/4/21, I was assured I had a balance of zero. O, Saturday, 11/5, I see a charged of $300 for incidentals was posted on my account. I immediately called the Fairmont and spoke with a very nice manager by the name of Colleen who assured me the charged had been reversed as soon as it was charged. Being Saturday, I told Colleen I would wait until Monday or Tuesday to ensure the charged had indeed been cleared. It was. The Fairmont is a lovely hotel and I enjoyed my stay. I plan to travel to Chicago again in February 2022 and have plans to stay at the Fairmont. The room was nice and the bed comfortable but for me, it's the staff and the fantastic customer service that earns five stars, Thank you.

I was attending a conference with Click Away and extended my stay a few extra days after the conference was over. The Fairmont honored the special rate I received for the conference. The front desk staff was amazing. Especially Olivia who went out of her way to make it easier for me when I changed rooms. The cleaning crew kept checking in with me if I needed a cleaning since I kept the do not disturb signed up. I was traveling alone and didn't need towel, bed, or cleaning services. The only reason I gave it an 8 was because I feel like the people who greeted everyone could have been a lot more friendly. Also, I think the hotel needs to have a way for their guest to purchase regular water bottles. There were so fancy expensive bottles in the room, but not just regular water. Luckily the CVS was open across the street.

This hotel is not as nice as the Fairmont Copley Square in Boston. The room was nice with a beautiful Jew of millennium park. The location is good. We did not know they were undergoing renovations or construction until we checked in; had we known we would have gone elsewhere. The best part of the hotel was the bellmen and valet people who were full of tips and were very helpful. The housekeepers were good too. I was frustrated because there was a nespresso machine in the room but we could not get any refills. Housekeeping said call the operator, the operator said call room service, they said call someone else. Finally my husband talked to the concierge and we got some pods for the pot. It’s a little thing, but it mattered.
