Love this hotel and it's beautifully historic lobby! I also LOVE the AMAZING Spa at Palmer House - Tucked away on the 5th floor is a lovely oasis where you find VIP luxury at reasonable prices! I had an excellent massage there by Paul. I have a very stressful job, and it was just what I needed, plus the massage...

The Palmer House is one of my favorite hotels in the downtown Chicago area. I'm always pleased when this is where I get to stay. It is located right in the South loop area, and just a short walk from union station. I take the train into Chicago more often than fly, but its also easily AND QUICKLY accessible for...

April 27 have just finished five day stay in the Palmer House, my first visit to Chicago. It is a magnificent hotel, built late 19th century, part of Chicago history (and therefore given it's age, naturally some quirks as befits a great old lady). Pros Magnificent public areas, superb architecture and finishes. Excellent amenities, good fitness area, Starbucks on site,...

We had tickets for Hamilton in Chicago which is right down the street from the theater. I booked at the Palmer House for convenience. It is a beautiful, historic hotel. We had a standard room that was very small, it was hard to find space for our carry on luggage. It was clean and the bed was comfortable - you...

Stayed here for business. Overall, the hotel met my needs. It is a very large hotel with an older floor layout (historical, but relatively updated). I had an accessible room and was OK with that. Rooms were clean and large but alot depends on your room location...noise, view, amount of light. We did eat in the lobby restaurant (light lunch...

One night at the Palmer House after seeing Hamilton at the theatre down the street. Beautiful historic building. I parked in the parking garage the next block down. The front desk at the hotel can put the parking charges on your room if you give them your ticket prior to checking out. Room was very large and the bathroom was...

Here on business. My room is extremely small with an extremely small bathroom. Decent hotel, but carpet needs to be replaced desperately. The whole hotel is in need of a clean facelift while maintaining history. The hotel is conveniently located for business, shopping and dining!

Be sure to request a large room otherwise you could get the closet. Aks for your coffee pot in your room with refils. If you dont ask you will not receive. Other than that not a bad place. Close to most events.

Stayed here for one night and wish I had reserved more - great historic hotel with clean rooms and great service. The Palmer House was the place to be in the 1950's and 60's. Old style hotel has charm but rooms are small and outdated. Staff friendly and helpful. Location to Grant Park and Michigan Avenue a plus. Average rating due to room size and condition of infrastructure.
