Detailed Reviews
Our stay at “The Old Rectory“ was wonderful. We were greeted with tea and cakes and treats for the dog. Our room was very cozy. Furnished with old furniture and accessories, we felt like we had been transported back in time.
The garden is a dream, which we explored on a walk with Jane and Steve and their dogs Rupert and George as well as our Raja. An experience for us and the dogs. It was great for Raja to be able to play with Rupert and George.
The lovingly prepared and extensive breakfast with Jane’s homemade Müesli, freshly baked croissants and cheese left nothing to be desired. Jane’s and Steve’s cordial manner and his tips for parking lots and dog beaches made our stay unforgettable. Many thanks for that, Barbara, Thomas and Raja

It is hard to find a place that adapts according to your personal needs and the Old Rectory is that place. Steve and Jane are as much part of our family as my uncle and aunt. They always knew what was on our mind. I just fell in love with the surrounding forest lands. The home cooked meal where a cherry on top at the end of the day that seemed to go by so quickly. I cant wait to return over the winter!

My wife and I spent 2 days at the Old Rectory at the end of October 2011. This B & B is set in a beautiful part of Wales, about 10 minutes from the nearest beach and a short drive from Tenby.
The Victorian building is set in very large grounds which include a dell surrounded on 3 sides by woodland.
All the rooms are newly decorated, well equipt and spacious. We especially liked the shower rooms with their modern fixtures and fittings. Our bedroom had a very nice view over the large front garden.
The home cooked food was excellent.
We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and would strongly recommend The Old Rectory to anyone visiting Pembrokeshire.

We have just returned from an utterly restful, relaxing and contented weekend away in Pembrokeshire. Jane and Steve were the perfect hosts, providing a lovingly restored place to stay, with delicious breakfasts individually catered, and a wealth of local knowledge.

We spent three nights here last week. The house is warm and welcoming. A gorgeous sitting room with roaring fire (it was cold outside!) is available to guests, this is also where the dining table is located and where you can enjoy a lovely breakfast with home made bread and the most delicious home made muesli, as well of course, as a typical English breakfast.
We stayed in the Blue Room (dogs allowed in this room - he was welcomed by the hosts who have a dog of their own) which was spacious, south facing and overlooked the front of the house. Bed was very comfortable. There was also a spacious, newly fitted shower room with a fabulously powerful shower. Our hosts were very helpful and charming throughout our stay and I would strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to stay in this area. The nearby (10 minutes drive) small town of Narberth has a lot of nice shops, interiors, clothes, gifts that will suit the most discerning tastes, as well as several restaurants.

My father and I stayed here for one night at the end of March 2012. Steve and Jane were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful or hospitable. We were immediately made to feel that we had the run of the house including the gardens, not just our bedrooms. The Old Rectory has been restored by Steve (a retired architect) and Jane to a very high standard and it's obvious a lot of love and care has gone in to renovating the place. Our bedrooms were large and tastefully furnished, as was the whole house. The Old Rectory is situated in a quiet village, close to Narberth and the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast, which is perfect if you're travelling through or touring around Pembrokeshire. This is definitely a cut above most B&B's i've been to and manages to be both classy and relaxed at the same time. It's very reasonably priced for what you get and we'd highly recommend it.

Wonderful quiet place to stay. Great hosts and magnificent house that has been carefully and thoughtfully restored. Good village location, ideal for exploring the lovely Pembrokeshire coastline with its magnificent beaches and historical buildings. Pet friendly and superb breakfast table. Local town of Narberth only a short drive away with great local shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. Highly recommended.

We stayed at The Old Rectory for four nights while completing family research in Pembrokeshire. Jane and Steve are perfect hosts who made us feel very welcome at all times. The Old Rectory is a labor of love on the part of both of them and it was evident at all times during our stay. Their tastes are impeccable and their attention to detail is superb.
We stayed in the Blue Room which faces out on the front lawn. It is a well sized room and is extremely quiet. Steve and Jane have carefully decorated the room with many family pieces of furniture. Despite the age of the house, they have upgraded the bathroom to have a very nice modern look.
As noted in other reviews, Jane and Steve go way out of their way to provide wonderful breakfasts and excellent light suppers. The meals were so good that we did not see the need to leave for dinner during our entire stay and certainly far surpassed any lunches that we had.
Finally, many reviewers have mentioned the dogs - Edward and Rupert. They are Irish red and white setters with the kindest dispositions of any hunting dog we have ever met. Edward and Rupert are important members of the household and only add to the overall charm.
We stayed in several other bed and breakfasts during our trip to Wales. The Old Rectory set a very high standard which none of the other properties exceeded. We could only wish that some other owners paid attention to the details as much as Jane and Steve.

Lovely old rectory beautifully restored with a building dating backto the Normans with Georgean, Victorian and modern touches. Room a lovely combination of period decode and mod cons, with a fine power shower. Host and hostess very welcoming to us and our muddy Labrador puppy, very different from their beautifully behaved Irish setter. Breakfast delicious with very nutty home made Muesli and bread, still warm, and perfect cooked breakfast.

We stayed here for 2 nights last week and our stay was fantastic. The property is a beautifully restored period property and a credit to what Steve & Jane have created in this lovely quiet location.
The gardens are perfect for walking around with or without your dog and Steve & Jane are friendly, helpful and great to talk to. They really make you feel welcome and are happy to help in any way.
The location is brilliant - very quiet but close enough to several local beaches and amenities.
We'll certainly be back and are looking forward to that already!
