My boyfriend and I had a very nice experience at Thala. We had a nice warm welcome and received welcome drinks when we arrived. Our cabin was very nice, had a beautiful view of the rainforest, and felt very private. The bed was actually two twin beds pushed together which made it a very uncomfortable bed. For the rate that...

Lunch at the Thala resort in the stunning main building was complemented by the most spectacular view of the ocean and glimpses of the coast road to Port Douglas. Antipasto plate was lovely, but had to ask for extra bread as two peices was insufficient for the plate contents. Prawn plate was nicely done and the wine list offered variety...

We stayed in a jungle walk bungalow and had the last minute deal with breakfast included which I think is excellent value. The situation in the rainforest is lovely and the views from the main lodge over the beaches and distant Daintree are simply breathtaking. The staff are absolutely the best I have come across anywhere, exceptionally helpful and friendly,...

Stayed in Thala for the 3rd time in Feb '12 and yet again we were met with beautiful smiles from all staff who cant seem to do enough for you. We were lucky this time to be double upgraded to a Coral sea room ( we normally have a Eucalypt room) and the views along with the complimentary champagne were...

We stayed last weekend at Thala and what a beautiful place. The staff were always happy and helpful, our room was great and the view spectacular. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something off the beaten path, yet close enough to Port Douglas to have access to day trips.

Thala Beach Lodge is an ageing resort about 15mins drive south of Port Douglas. It is set in a spectacular setting on a headland overlooking the coast to the Nth and Sth and located at the Nth of Oak beach. The rooms are a bit dated and are priced on the views ie Jungle Walk rooms look into the trees...

A really good experience - a peaceful, eco lodge style accommodation. Restaurant food was great, fantastic views. Recommend it to anyone who want to experience Australian flora and fauna in comfort. If you have trouble with insects or need Foxtel - probably not for you. The only negative I have is the shower in the room was small and cheap.

We've been around the world quite a bit. Thala Beach Lodge is definitely one of the most beautifull places we have ever been to. The location is simply unbeatable and the smile of the people at Thala makes you feel at home. We have spent seven wonderfull days in paradise. ... and one more thing we did not really expect:...

I am not easy to please. And I am European (and proud of it) and so I found the prices anywhere in Australia eye-wateringly' high, and generally resented them entirely. Perhaps a little perversely, we enjoyed staying at this place so much, paying out was almost a pleasure. (I agree; a shameless exaggeration.) Notice that hotels refer to the likes...

This is a great place for treating your other half, especially if she likes the ecological/ rainforest slant to a traditional weekend beach escape. the views are epic and you should get a coral ocean view room if possible. The staff are very genuine and helpful and the private beach is a big bonus. the whole atmosphere and surround are...
