The Porto Kale hotel is the ideal place if you want total peace & quiet in a very beautiful small seaside village. The room we had was on the ground floor of this traditional Mani stone building, the room was very well appointed with a lovely shower & comfortable bed. Breakfast was served by the very friendly owner on our...

The Porto Kale hotel, is a beautiful traditionally built stone building located in the quiet Porto Kagio bay , on the Mani Peninsula. The rooms are cozy and clean, with flat screen TV, Wifi(satellite), air conditioning and a small fridge. The family who run the hotel are courteous and helpful. They provide a simple breakfast in the room but other...

This place is quite charming. I felt like we were staying in a little castle! That being said, castles aren't well lit, and the room was a little dark. The AC worked great, and I didn't think the bathroom was too small! The wifi did not work in our room at all and barely worked out on the porch where...

We took four rooms as we were travelling with friends. All of them were fairly standard in size and felt a little dark but traditional so nice. There was a terrace area with a table and chairs outside each room which was really nice. The bathrooms are small. The sheets on the bed were too small to be tucked in...

I visited Porto Kagio recently with a friend on a 2 day excursion from Stoupa and we took 2 rooms at this very clean block of rooms at the end of the beach. Great value for money. Very clean. en-suite shower excellent. Could have done with a top sheet / counterpane but it is a truly beautiful bay and one...

i first checked in at night when i hardly saw the look of the outside environment. but the breeze that cast the shadow to dance on the stone wall was enough to feel the place. once we saw the room we were impressed even more because for some reason it became the best hotel we stayed from the whole trip!....

Scenery of the place is unique! Just perfect ! The only thing is that you have to be very careful on the choice of the room. According the owner all the rooms have too small WC; my room had a WC so small that I couldn't turn inside. I also had 2 small kids with me and I found very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Porto kale is situated in the most picturesque natural cove of Porto Kagio in the Eastern "Prosiliaki" Mani. The Iliakopoulos family in full respect of myth and tradition has just created a house-hotel of stone in complete harmony to the environment overlooking a perfect serene and unique scenery. This natural port surrounded by a long outstretching range of hills and open country that reaches out to the sea, really gives the sense of a lake. ... more   less
