We stopped here for breakfast after having spent the night in Fort Nelson. Highly recommend their ham and cheese omelette with hash browns. My sister had French toast with bacon and a cup of coffee; she raved about it as well. The folks that own it and work there were incredibly friendly and offered great conversation. They also offered much...

Horrible, horrible place. Don't stay or eat here. The rooms are atco units with a little wood slapped on the outside walls to fool you. The beds were two singles beds. I'm 5'7 and I barely fit. Could definitely not have more than two people stay in that room. The shower was so atrocious that we didn't even bother using...

The Motel was stick built in 1973 by the owners then and not with Atco units. We do agree the rooms are small and have little room for amenities, the beds in question are a year old and standard twin beds with new mattresses and bedding. The showers do need upgrading but are functional. Our water is very hard and...

Out in the country, away from everything but right on the ALCAN highway. Rooms were small and you had to manually adjust the room heating unit. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Food at the restaurant was very good and food and room were economical.

Thank you for your positive review. We do try to make our quests as comfortable as a 43 year old motel will allow. When you next visit please ask for one of the renovated rooms.

It is unfortunate that we owners cannot be on site at all times. Our sincere apologies for the inexcusably poor service.

A little gem right along the historic Alaska Hwy, around mile 180 the Buckinghorse River Lodge surprised me with great homemade food! The "Buck Burger" is what they're known for, so make sure you give it a try. Service wasn't what you would find in a fine dining restaurant, but it was acceptable. The restaurant itself is old, but with...

Our families stay here couldnt have been better!! It was during April 2014. We arrived just as they were closing the kitchen. They were kind enough to still take our order and cook up some delicious food! My 3 kids loved everything, and so did we. This is a family run establishment. Very down to earth people. We had our rottwieller...

We do appreciate reviews like yours as it is difficult being a long way out in the "Boon Docks" to have the people that enjoy their job and give good service. It is nice to hear that we do have some of those people. Best Regards

We stopped here in June 2014 to get gas. The gas pump is a bit tricky to use because it is a 24 hour unattended pump and Canada requires "safety training" to use the pump. If you are traveling north, there isn't another station until you get to Fort Nelson (110 miles). Since it was close to lunch time we...

Thanks for your kind words! The gas pumps are much easier to use now. I will pass on your comments about the good food.

The person that answered the phone was NOT an owner, but my drunken son. He has been reprimanded as there is no place for that kind of service. Especially after I talked to you and told you to call even though we were going to be closed. And it was Christmas Day. One of the two days a year we...

It was like going back into the 60's. Scatter rugs, one light with a broken plug and bare wires showing. The bathroom had a smell. The shower curtain which was beige at the top and brown at the bottom due to dirt build up. The towels were navy blue the washcloths were ripped. The bathmat was avacado and threadbare. When we...

we are sorry that "grousegirl" did not have a better room. Unfortunately it was the only room left. She did not complain to our staff or she would have received the room for free. BUT: the scatter rugs are for guest comfort as the floors are cold Our water is very hard ( Lots of iron) so no matter what...
