The drive in was a long dirt road, I mean long and the entire thing had been previously flooded so they were digging the whole road up. It is basically one lane so it made it very difficult going in and out of this place. Even without the construction this road is horrible. I'd rather ride a horse down it....

If you want an "off the beaten path" place to explore, camp or stay (cabin), the Sawtooth Lodge is the place. Nestled into the South Fork of the Payette River and close to natural hot springs as well as providing their own hot pool, the lodge is a step back in time. We stayed in the tent camping area and...

Pros: Location is lovely, the pool is wonderful and warm, the staff is friendly, the burgers are good. Cons: The bed was TERRIBLE, soft and ancient mattress, causing severe back pain. The floors were disgustingly dirty, not looking like they have seen a mop in months. For over a hundred dollars a night, I would think that the cabin could...

It's a rustic oasis far off the beaten path. Luxury is not to be found here, but old comfort and friendly staff will great you all about. The food is great, service prompt and curious. We look forward to a future visit soon.

Courteous staff, excellent coffee, hot pool at a almost perfect temperature. cabins are historic so retain a certain amount of rustic funk. If you are looking for the Hilton you will be disappointed. No wifi no phone service except for free use of pay phone in front of the lodge. Idaho at its best.

For those of you complaining about the power going off at 10, it's on the website! The cabin floors may look dirty but that's because most of them are over 100 years old those stains or scuff marks will not be removed! On the other hand my family and I had a great time. We came up one weekend, thought...

Without going into all the details it was sad to see how run down the lodging and restaurant has become. If the owners are not going to do a better job of managing and upkeep of properties why not sell it to someone that will stay engaged? We had heard so many good things about the restaurant and lodge but...

It's a shame that the owners have let a historic Idaho lodge turn into a dump! We have visited here in years past and enjoyed the Sawtooth Lodge and it's rustic setting. We went back for a visit this year and were shocked at the condition and service. The lodge was disgustingly dirty. The help had no clue what they...

I'm not sure you could find many more beautiful locations in Idaho. The rustic cabins are nestled in the midst of breathtaking beauty. The staff is a bunch of recent high school graduates who are extremely helpful and friendly. The cabins are very rustic, not really heated, and only OK in the cleanliness category. The heated pool is awesome. They...

The food at the lodge is good, the cabins are small comfortable and clean. The swimming pool feed by the hot spring is delightful. The View of the mountains and the river is spectacular. Those expecting the holiday inn should stay home. Those wishing an authentic Idaho experience should run not walk. The lodge it self was the first forest...
