We ate at the restaurant here in the shade just off the beach, and the service, food, and drinks were perfect. Chelsea was fabulous, putting together some tables in the shade for us, delicious rum punches and Shirley temples, and tasty food: fresh fish sandwiches, barbecued chicken, even the vegetarian daughter loved it! Friendly, attentive service. Five stars!
we booked this hotel for a special occasion holiday. it look wonderful from the website and photos. the good points. on arrival the beach met all our expectations, it is one of the most wonderful beaches in the Caribbean, white sands, blue water and safe for swimming. . the beach bar/food is welcoming, although service can be leisurely. our room was spacious and generally clean. good wifi and TV. now the reality. the hotel is still refurbishing after Hurricane Irma. there are thin interconnecting doors, allows noise to travel between rooms, we had very noisy neighbours the first night, no sleep before 2am. the kitchen area was not equipped, nothing, no cutlery, plates etc, no coffee making facility, no safe for valuables the on-site large and silent restaurant is only open 6-8pm, we went on first night and were only diners apart from 5 local business men, after dark no sight of any other guests. beware the hole in the beach full of dirty water, dangerous especially at night swimming pool not used as bottom was covered in sand and paper rubbish beach loungers old, some broken, many occupied by walk-in day visitors. this is not a RESORT yet, all it needs is someone to take it in hand, invest and bring it into the 21C. fabulous location, you need car to go out at night. we don't drive at night and wanted a resort hotel to just chill out in 1 location. when we asked to speak to the Manager told they were "off island", then took 4 hours to find someone to speak to us. Maybe this was our mistake, misled by website and our expectations, we curtailed our list and left after 2 days.…
By far the best part of The Great House are the staff. We had unit 125, which is very near the water (25 feet or so). After hurricane Irma the re-building put a solid wall where a wall with windows looking out on the water once were. Our porch gave us nearly 180 degree views of Rendezvous Bay. The only drawback, the flies and mosquitoes which did not seem to exist on our last two visits.
Stayed here one night on business, thankfully only the one night. Although room was clean it was rather basic. Kitchenette looked like it was designed fifty years ago and never updated and, of course not even a kettle or the usual tea, coffee or even drinking water. One restaurant on the compound with an extremely limited menu and exorbitant pricing, yet despite the high price the presentation of the meal was rather much of a disappointment. Although clean appearing the room had an odd influx of flies. At least the Tv and AC worked. Small mercies. Lovely beach and views of St Maarten, unfortunately this can’t be attributed to the hotel other than its location.
Great location on the beach. But very basic room, not even ocean view. The bed light does not work. No chair on the patio. The garden could be very nice if a gardener would plant a few ibiscus or bougainvilliers. 340€ per night for a « beach-side motel » is much too expensive! You would get a 5 stars room in Guadeloupe for this price.
We spent 6 nights in April 2019 it this Hotel. We had a 5 mt room from Rendezvous bay, one of the best of Anguilla. The Hotel has reopened after Irma and it's in good shape! The garden needs a bit of extracare and water but this structure is perfect for location and tranquillity. Highgly recomended! The staff is very kind and Rada is a very nice peson! Thank you for everything!
Really good option in the Valley, with great views of the beach. The rooms are huge and have really well provided kitchens. Nice walk down to the restaurants on the beach. Highly recommended and would definitely return.
Lovely location with a beautiful beachfront and views of turquoise waters rippling onward towards St. Martin...but that's the only good things that could be said about it. Breakfast took forever, so did lunch and dinner... the room wasn't ready when we arrived even though we were late...the internet was dodgy...the staff weren't very helpful...sigh... but the bed was comfortable and the toilet worked so all was not lost...I would not count it out altogether, I'd still give it another try..the location really is quite nice.
The resort is right on the beautiful white sandy beach. It was so quiet and relaxing on the beach. Very few people around so we were truly able to enjoy ourselves. Right across the sea was Saint Marteen.
We have visited Anguilla many times, but this was our first stay at the Anguilla Great House. To say that we were pleasantly surprised by the property would be an understatement. AGH is a cute, laid-back, small, friendly hotel with an excellent location. Being steps from the beach, pool, or bar was feature without compare. The staff was fantastic. The room was very nice for the reasonable cost. A/C and ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Everything functioned as expected. Hot water was especially plentiful. The only thing lacking was an in-room safe. We will most definitely return to the AGH for our future visits.
