The first thing that pops to mind is the Grand
Budapest Hotel. It's been said elsewhere in reviews but it's so true. It's a little triply how surreal the outside looks. Beautifully taken care of. It's also an old property, and the rooms are perfectly...More
We stayed here 2 nights, and liked that it was on the Lido island, away from the hustle of Venice proper. Water taxis are convenient, but our tour guide had private boats for our group. The hotel staff were nice. Breakfast buffet was good with...More

you can check vaporetto ticket prices from Actv website. Single vaporettto ticket costs 7.5 euro, 3 day pass was about 30-40 euros. Stayin in lido, you will need it for visiting all lagoon islands including venice. If you will buy this daily pass cards, coming to venice first then going to lido would be cheaper. I guess alilaguna ferries do have direct routes between cruise dock and lido and it may be around 15 euros for a single pass. Please check both Actv and Alilaguna websites for an up to date price information.
