Visited this hot spring expecting to see some hot water vapour from the natural spring but unfortunely all has been 'man made'. No natural spring to be seen all has been constructed with tiles and water tap. The source of the hotspring was somehow 'covered'... so we were wondering if inside it was a big heater system. Lol! Anyway I...

We stayed 3 nights at poring Hot Springs Nature Resort in the River Lodge. Generally the room was very comfortable and large. There are two separate bedrooms - one with a king and the other with two singles. It was lovely to be able to sleep listening to the gushing river nearby. Although it was a bit noisy in the...

By far the nicest accommodation in the Poring area... we stayed at both the shared-bathroom hostel and the building next door (twin bed rooms, but each room has its own bathroom). The hostel was the nicest I've stayed at in Sabah.

We stayed in the Palm Villa with 3 rooms. We had 6 adults and 4 children and it was still very spacious. The room was very well decorated, clean and spacious. Each room has its own en-suite. The villa has separate living area, dining and kitchen. The kitchen is a well equipped with gas cook top but you'll have to...

I went to Poring Hot Spring a week ago. At first I thought it was a hot spring but it turned out that there was more. There were canopy walks and 2 waterfalls. I went to one of the waterfall called Kipungit. Had to do a little jungle trekking about 500m to get there. It was just a small waterfall...

Wasn't spectacular but Ok for a visit once. I visited this place sometime in 2003 or 2004 thereabouts.. On a short visit after visiting Kinabalu National Park. Climbed up some hill. Then walked along some rickety swinging trail between 2 trees. Forgot what it was called. That was enjoyable.

River lodge has two bedrooms (both with attached bathroom). Very spacious and comfortable. It has a large living room with sofa bed, a dining table, TV, water kettle, mini fridge, instant coffee & tea sachet. Outside, it has a BBQ pit. A very good place for family with kids to stay as it has a lot of outdoor activities (hot...

It was really a pleasant stay, everything were really comfortable and staff were really attentive and friendly. Best vacation ever had here in Sabah so far. And its near to the hotspring spot, so we dont need to hurry or traveled long way from Kundasang and rush back to the city. Overall is excellent stay.

Stayed at the River Lodge chalet which was huge with 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room and 2 massive bathrooms and showers. All very well maintained and comfortable. We loved it here. restaurant offers good choice and we are vegan and had no problems. There is a nice pool although it was full of teens. We didn't use the hot...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Poring Hot Springs, Sabah's most famous hot water spring, is located amongst the foot hills of Mt. Kinabalu near Ranau, with accommodation ad restaurants managed by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. The hot spring located about 3 hours from Kota Kinabalu, is managed by Sabah Parks whilst Sutera Sanctuary Lodges manages the various accommodation and dining facilities. The nature reserve and humid lowlands offer botanical attractions such as orchids, rare butterflies and the world's largest bloom, the Rafflesia. The curative waters of this popular local hot spring rejuvenates aching muscles after the challenging climb to Mount Kinabalu. The excellent collection of tropical plants includes more than 500 orchid species. Located on the Park's boundary at the edge of the Mamut River, Poring Hot Springs & Nature Reserve offers a butterfly centre, an orchid conservation centre, a five acre tropical garden with an animal rehabilitation farm, picnic areas, hot pools and the most famous canopy walkway overlooking the forests. Poring's hot pool is located in a clearing in the forest, one must cross a short suspension bridge over the Mamut River. From there the path leads past some old trees and a grove of Gigantochloa Levis, giant bamboo species from which Poring got its name. Water temperature in the 5 hot springs ranges between 49 to 60 degrees celcius. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or soak in sulphurous water channelled from the hot springs into tiled pools and tubs. ... more   less
