I booked for 3 people the room had cutlery etc for 2 people. The place was dirty, the taps leaked and didnt work properly. There wasnt a hand towel in the bathroom. The kettle was filthy I had to clean it. I drank coffee with lipstick on, the next day the cup was "washed" but still had my lipstick on it. I dont think they even used soap to wash the dishes. When I complained to the owner he was rude. I will not go back again.
We arrived at short notice and they went out of their way to make rooms available for us by the evening.Rooms are large and comfortable breakfast was a buffet which was well cooked and plenty of good coffee available. Special thanks to Awie who tried his best to show us around and invited us to a new years party at the local horse riding centre, everyone was really friendly and welcoming. on the whole a really great few days at Kaapsche Hoop and would gladly go back for a holiday there again
Didn’t get the room as in the pictures on their site, got put in the SAPPI “contractors” rooms but paid the same price! The hostess was friendly and the breakfast was good. The owner slept in the guest general entertainment area and that was a bit weird. Won’t book again
Not our first stay and probably not the last…. The guesthouse is conveniently situated at the entrance to the village of Kaapschehoop. Although breakfast is available on request, you have a choice of eateries on both sides of the lodge. The rooms are very basic and have up to four beds in some rooms. Abrie, the owner, is on hand with any requests you might have. This is a perfect stopover for bikers or nature lovers. Cleanliness has slipped a little since our last visit but still great value for money. While you are there – watch your sport and have a drink at Salvador’s next door. Dinner at Bohemian Groove Café next to the lodge a must ! Look out for the farmers market next to the lodge on a Sunday.
