It was just be chance we found this place while looking for somewhere to stay overnight in our motor home. What a gem of a place. Sam the landlady was very helpful over the phone and came out to greet us when we arrived. The pub and area is very oldy worldy and we loved it and the two basset...

We regularly use this historic riverside pub for both eating and drinking and also have camped and stayed in their rooms. Sam is a top land lady and runs an excellent hostelry and is an always friendly, positive presence. we were travelling with a young puppy and were looking for dog friendly accommodation. This was an absolute find. We were there on a Saturday night in December and we were pre-warned there was a party booking in the pub and also that the only room available was a small double. so lovely to be given full information before arrival....

We have just come back from a weekend stay in our motorhome at the Lower Lode inn, it is a fantastic place , everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The landlady Sam was very helpful We had three meals in the pub and we found the food to be of good quality and reasonably priced

We attended a wedding here over the weekend - the venue was superb, beautifully laid out and the staff couldn't do enough for the party. Although we didn't stay in the pub, we did have a family meal on the Friday night - excellent home cooked meals with plenty of choice! I also have to mention the excellent ale selection...

We had a lovely pleasant one nights stay at Lower Lode Inn on our way through to Devon. The Inn is located at the end of a few interesting country roads approx 1.1 miles from Tewkesbury. We unfortunately did not arrive until late but were welcomed by staff and took advantage of there being a small pub under the B&B....

the camping at this pub is cheap and cheerful.it is an ideal base for exploring gloucester and the surrounding areas.there is also excellent fishing available on site.the pub is quaint and serves a good selection of beers and food.the toilets and showers are clean there is also tewkesbury which has all the shops you need including a aldi and morrisons.

Stunning little stop over on the way back from Cornwall ... Well kept beers lovely food piping hot and reasonable prices ( liver n bacon to die for ) very hospitable staff and Sam a gem beavering away ensuring everyone happy and nothing too much trouble , the family room was lovely and cosy shame we only stopped one night...

We went to stay in the pub to meet up with our family who were camping we were lucky the weather was great so lovely days spent lazing about outside their tent and playing games with the grandchildren a drive into Tewkesbury for ice cream then back to feed the ducks an swans a lovely cold beer from the pub...

A Traditional Public House dating back to the 15th Century, The Lower Lode Inn is set in a stunning location on the banks of the River Severn, a stones throw from the historic town of Tewkesbury, which is also accessible by our historic foot ferry. The Inn offers a riverside beer garden with extensive garden seating, also a games room with pool table and jukebox. Serving fine locally sourced home cooked fayre and Camra accredited real ales, this family run traditional pub has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfasts and a Sunday carvery are available by pre-booking at the bar. ACCOMMODATION We offer a range of accommodation, including five en-suite guest rooms, in which we can accommodate families, couples or single occupancy. Pets are very welcome. The rooms offer all essentials required for a comfortable and relaxed stay. CAMPING AND CARAVAN SITE Our lawned riverside camping and caravan site is an ideal place for a short break, with electric hookups, elsan disposal, drinking water and shower unit/24hr toilets within the main pub building. There are also outdoor basic mobile shower and toilet units which are opened within the campsite during busy periods. BOAT MOORINGS Moorings are available along the Inn's river frontage, with narrow boat space (limited availability), smaller and public mooring spaces available. Boats up to 30ft accepted. FREE ACTIVITIES Free activities for guests can be enjoyed on site including fishing, subject to licensing (permits available from the pub) and dingy/canoe launch from the slipway. OTHER The Inn has a a purpose built function room and 2am music license (midnight for live music, 2am for recorded music). It is a popular summer venue for special events such as weddings, birthday parties and vehicle rallies, mostly held at weekends, while Monday to Friday the site is usually very quiet. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Set between the Malvern and Cotswold Hills, we offer a great base for exploring some of the UK's most charming villages and the stunning river-valley countryside of the Severn Vale. We are within easy reach of Upton upon Severn and the provincial towns of Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester and Worcester and for those in the area on business, there is easy motorway access to M50/M5. ... more   less
