"Ente veedu," the Malayalam for "my house," is situated in an exotic locale in Wayanad, one of the hill stations in Kerala. World renowned for its coffee and tea plantations and spices, Wayanad has become one of the favourite hubs for tourists. Surrounded by coffee and pepper plantations and paddy fields, "Ente Veedu" really transcends you to an ethereal world. An ecstatic and holistic experience from the rush and shrieks of routine. Located in an 80 year old estate, "my own home" Ente Veedu combines the legacy of Wayanad farming culture.

Travel in the time of covid can be a very scary thought, especially if you have a child.

But our stay at ente veedu was very much fun and relaxing. Overlooking lushious fields and greenery, the slight cold weather and ample space for the young ones to run around.....it was perfect.

Like the name suggests, it's like going home and relaxing. They treated us like we were family.

I have a 1.5 year old son. They even made sure he was taken care of we'll....from making sure his food was very minimal spiced to having his feeding bottle sterilized in boiling water and cow milk for him being ready.

I felt that I was right at home.

It's the best option for a getaway in these uncertain times. Everything was very clean and safe and gives you a chance to just relax

Via the Lonely Planet book we found this beautiful paradise. With a very warm welcome and fresh watermelon juice we arrived at Ente Veedu. What a beautiful homestay! A cosy interior, lovely garden, good bed, great food. The owners Seetha and Raj provided us in everything we desired; We had a trip with safe driver Rafeeque and the excellent and funny guide Bibin who showed us lots of birds, flowers, trees and tribes. With Raj we had a walk through the flora and fauna, the coffee plantations and to the temple nearby Ente Veedu, it gave us a lot of knowledge witch we could use in the rest of our trip. Terrific for us Dutchies was that we could hire bicycles and do a cycle tour through the beautiful landscape. Our destination was the river Panamaram, very close to the other villa guesthouse of Raj and Seetha. Raj guided us there and with a fresh coconut in our hand we went to the river and enjoyed the swimming. Seetha also helped us with bustickets to Bangalore. What a good care!
We also had a relaxation day at the house, easy coddling the guinea pigs and making fun with table tennis. The name ‘Ente Veedu’ means ‘My own home’ and this is indeed how we felt in this stay.

Last month we stayed in Ente Veedu with family. We wanted to see Waynad and have chosen Ente Veedu for stay. The location of this place is awesome and very calm. We have taken the top most floor of this house and view was amazing. We arrived at evening and the lunch was already prepared. The food is delicious and you can order whatever you want. The next day we went for korakal rides (arranged by Ente Veedu) and the kids really enjoyed. The kids also enjoyed playing tennis, and cycling around the place.

We really recommend this place and we wish to do this again during next vacation.

This was my second stay at Enteveedu, after the first one left a beautiful memory and urging me to come again. So this time, it was with 5 of my dear friends and the place did not disappoint at all !! The cottage was spacious and lively, the food was outstanding and the service levels by all there made you feel at home, where all your requests were taken care of with a generous dose of smile !

The location of the homestay in Wayanad is breathtaking and the overall experience was exceptional.

Looking forward to visit this little gem very soon again.

Our stay at Ente Veedu was magical. Excellent all around - lovely plantation home, awesome food, exceptional service. Mrs. Seetha Raj made us feel right at home from the get go. She took extra care of our parents who are in their 80s. I was amazed that we could make food requests that she and her staff would deliver at the next meal. The plantation home is well situated and very well appointed. This place is not to be missed if you are looking to get away for a few days from the hustle-bustle of daily life.

This review is late. I traveled with my family. The road till the home stay is very good and any car will make it. The hospitality is very good at this place. The food they serve is extremely good. We stayed for 2 nights and they never repeated any dish. They take you for a plantation walk and it will be quite informative. The rooms are spacious and neat.

We stayed at Enteveedu for 3 nights, and enjoyed our visit immensely, following our busy previous days in Mumbai and Goa. As soon as we arrived we were offered fresh, cold juice which was lovely. The room was spacious, and well equipped, a/c, fan, and modern walk-in shower. We had our own huge balcony, with views of the plantation.
Seetha and her staff were attentive and courteous, and cooked delicious authentic Kerelan food, which was served at our request.
We visited the Tholpetty wildlife park, temple and Kuruva Island on day 1, a busy day, but would recommend. Day 2 we climbed Chembra Peak, and visited the waterfalls. Seetha very kindly organised a driver for us for both days. Our driver was Rafeek, who was very pleasant and always on time, and made us feel safe on the sometimes chaotic Indian roads.
We also booked Rafeek for the return drive back to Calicut station, thank you Rafeek.
Thank you Seetha and staff for a wonderful time.

Thank You for the review,But we strongly disagree ,The foreigners ask for help, suggestions and guidance more than Indians,so we do end up spending more time explaining things to them. Also we have to be more attentive towards westerners during meal times as they need to know about the food laid out on the table (ingredients used, manner of being cooked etc). In the case of Indians they are already aware of the fare which we serve. Neither do I nor any of my staff discriminate our guests on any basis. The breakfast is always free for couples and is included in the Tariff but is charged for third person and for extra tea and coffees as is done in any other place. We are a home stay and we try very hard to make sure each and every guest feels at home here. Its also a fact that sometimes we cannot achieve the expectations of every single individual.

It was with much apprehension that I choose to try a Home stay. It was my first experience even though I had stayed in many other hotels ranging from lodges to 5 star hotels but never thought of going to a home stay. But I am happy now to say that the experience was terrific. Seetha madam was like a grand mother when we goto our village town. She and her husband made us feel that we went to our hometown.

Both of their children were settled far away after marriage and instead of them settling with their children, they themselves are running a home stay business and also looking after their 200 acre farm land. Its really appreciable.

The location is in an interior village and once we are in their compound, its 360 degree their property only. Farmland, and all other agriculture and trees. the treatment of Seetha is genuine and especially the food that they prepare is homely. They have a combination of items for breakfast, lunch and dinner which takes us through a glimpse of natural Kerala cuisine. You cannot experience that genuineness in a hotel food!

Even though we planned to visit some places in and around Wayand, we preferred to stay in the property as our 2 kids (4&6) were enjoying the living space and also the set of toys that were provided. Seethas husband too was helping them like a grandfather. Overall we felt like we went to our hometown. After our breakfast, we went to the fields to have a glimpse of serene kerala beauty and me and my wife and kids enjoyed it in every second.

It was so good to sit and chat in the veranda of the house. The interior of the house is also maintained well and w could see Seetha madam looking after each and every detail of it. This was a real surprise as I couldn't find such detailing in many so called big hotel chains. Bathrooms are also maintained exceptionally well.

When we left early @4 AM, seetha madam was there at the door with the tea and we felt like leaving our hometown house and mother.

I would really recommend others to go and try Enteveedu as it brings back a different experience and shouldn't be compared with a hotel stay.
