We don't live that far away but needed to get completely away and unplug and relax, so chose this lodge we were so pleasantly surprised with the beautiful accommodation! The room was beautiful and had current and gorgeous decor. Large flat screen TV, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. We ate at the restaurant and walked trails, climbed all of the...

I was pleasantly surprised by the Lodge. It was lovely, modern with rustic touches, and seemed recently refurbished. Clearly one of the nicest State Park lodges I have had the pleasure to visit. And I would like to give special acknowledgement to the linens - wonderful sheets and what appeared to be a real down comforter - it was a...

Thanks so much for a thorough review of our lodge. We appreciate the feedback! It appears we dropped the ball on your room during your stay and as the new General Manager of the property I am very disappointed to hear it. We have recently hired and trained four new housekeepers to join our team and are excited about their...

While it is not a 5 star resort, the renovation made this the best state park hotel I have ever enjoyed. The views are amazing and the beds are soooo comfortable now! Even the food is better. Kathy at the front desk was so helpful and kind to our kids. We love the staff! I was tempted to give the...

This is not a cheap lodge, however despite the redecoration the air conditioning is old and inadequate, the room was not cleaned to a good standard on arrival, the food is very poor and on our last day the room was not serviced at all! While the staff apologise there is no resolution I.e. We were given clean towels, but...

This place is amazing. Totally refurbished, everything is new and the views are spectacular. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. Hiking is wonderful. There is only one place to dine in the park, and that is in the lodge dining room. Mostly every meal is a buffet, which is only fair. Some meals also have a menu option,...

We stayed in a loft room on the 4th floor. It was spacious and comfortable. The room was newly remodeled and clean. The kids loved the loft, but it was a very tall ladder up to the loft. Not a problem for our boys. They thought it was a treehouse. The staff was friendly and helpful. We all loved the...

We stayed two nights at the Amicalola Falls Lodge and were very satisfied with the accommodations. This hotel is newly renovated and appears very clean, which is definitely a major plus to us when seeking out hotels. We arrived on Friday afternoon after 8 long hours of travel from Florida and were pleasantly greeted by the front clerk. We were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High in the North Georgia Mountains is Amicalola Falls State Park home of Amicalola Falls Lodge. Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters” Amicalola Falls is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. The park’s namesake is the 729-foot falls: the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park is also the start of the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150-mile Appalachian Trail. The Lodge was built in 1990 by the State of Georgia, with 56 guestrooms in the main lodge and 14 cabins along with a gift shop, meeting space and a mountain view restaurant. The lodge rooms vary from standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds, loft suites that can sleep 6, to king bed suites with private balconies. The Lodge also is home to The Maple Restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Lodge rests on 829 acres with on-site activities that include stream or pond fishing, as well as more than twelve miles of hiking trails, several centering on viewing the spectacular 729-foot waterfall. Amicalola Falls Lodge features more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space that can host groups and social events consisting of up to 150 people in traditional meeting spaces as well as a unique outdoor veranda setting. The Lodge’s spectacular view, peaceful setting, and exceptional service make it a destination not to be missed while in the North Georgia Mountains. ... more   less
