Is is my fourth trip to Amicalola falls state park and lodge. You can do no better with Rangers, classes and lectures, hosts who want you to be happy. Nice wine list, great beauty and people who really want to make your stay great. They have marvelous cabins we stay in with fireplace, inside and out!

We attended a wedding in the area last night and were very pleasantly surprised by how nice our 1st floor room was at the lodge. The lobby and rooms are all newly renovated. Our room on the first floor was a good size and very tastefully decorated. It had a very comfortable bed, new sink and granite counter in the...

Clean and comfortable rooms with drop dead gorgeous views. An ideal place for pictures, nature and weddings. John at the Front Desk is awesome. Bent over backwards to ensure our stay was worth it. Mostly buffet served in the dining room but menu options usually available. Wine and beer service is a nice addition and room service is available. Great...

Thank you Cathy, We are glad your experience was enjoyable, and we look forward to having you stay with us again. May I recommend a short get-a-way in the fall - our mountain views are at their very best in full color leaf season with local communities hosting popular fall festivals on most weekends. Give us a call; we would...

Stayed just one night should have been longer, great room with spectacular views, really friendly staff, food is mostly buffet style and gets a little stale if you go in late. The hiking trails are great, but you really need to be fit to bike or hike most of them.

Thank you for your feedback; we are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. We do have two paved trails that are very nice and designed for the less athletic hiker. Our Accessible trail is a short walk from parking to the bridge overlooking the top of the falls, and is paved with recycled tires. The loop trail is located just...

Stunning views and excellent, friendly service. Stayed here after arriving late to start my section hike of the Appalachian Trail. The staff provided me with an EXCELLENT shuttle reference - Ron's Shuttle. Though not affiliated with the lodge, Ron - with no notice or advanced reservation - picked me up after 10p in Atlanta, took me on a supply run...

I am more Ritz than mountain lodge but I was surprised at how comfortable and welcomed I felt while staying at the lodge. My loft room on the fourth floor provided beautiful views of the glow of the mountain ranges just after sunset and the stars were brilliant. It was fun identifying the constellations. I saw clouds below us as...

This is a beautiful lodge in a beautiful location. Stayed a week with my family in a loft room. The room was very spacious and clean. The views were breathtaking! Id give it a 5, but the hotel didn't have water for over 24 hours during our stay and we kept getting a grouchy server in the lodge's restaurant.

Our family spent 3 days in the lodge this week, the lodge has recently been renovated, the bedding is so lovely it was hard to get up and get going ! It's at the top of a mountain and the waterfall is beautiful. The boys loved the 1930's moonshine truck that crashed, went down the side of the mountain and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
High in the North Georgia Mountains is Amicalola Falls State Park home of Amicalola Falls Lodge. Named after the Cherokee word for “tumbling waters” Amicalola Falls is one of the most popular state parks in Georgia. The park’s namesake is the 729-foot falls: the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. The park is also the start of the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, the southern end of the 2,150-mile Appalachian Trail. The Lodge was built in 1990 by the State of Georgia, with 56 guestrooms in the main lodge and 14 cabins along with a gift shop, meeting space and a mountain view restaurant. The lodge rooms vary from standard hotel rooms with 2 double beds, loft suites that can sleep 6, to king bed suites with private balconies. The Lodge also is home to The Maple Restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The Lodge rests on 829 acres with on-site activities that include stream or pond fishing, as well as more than twelve miles of hiking trails, several centering on viewing the spectacular 729-foot waterfall. Amicalola Falls Lodge features more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space that can host groups and social events consisting of up to 150 people in traditional meeting spaces as well as a unique outdoor veranda setting. The Lodge’s spectacular view, peaceful setting, and exceptional service make it a destination not to be missed while in the North Georgia Mountains. ... more   less
