The staff is friendly and the other hikers are too. I went twice last year and really enjoyed it. Good food served family style. All the basics are provided, just bring a change of clothes and a toothbrush! Peaceful and relaxing. Can't wait to go back!

Thanksgiving week the wife and I made the 5 mile one way moderate hike to the Hike Inn. The staff was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. There was a short informational tour of the facililities before a roasted pork dinner. Afterwards a presentation on hiking the Grand Canyon was very interesting. The bunk rooms were cozy-bring a...

Late November, with most trees bare, the hike is not spectacular - but it's varied and fun, especially the cool streams and the nice look-outs. Especially on the way to the inn it isn't an easy hike, but certainly doable. The Inn itself is spectacular, no less. The staff is nice and efficient, everything is very clean, and whole place...

My husband and I loved this beautiful hike! The hike is 4.8 miles and the park people tell you it takes about 3. We did it in 1 1/2 hours. If you are in relatively good shape and have hiking experience you should be able to make it in a lot less than 3 hours as long as you don't...

Hike - 6 of us hiked from Amicalola State Park Top of Falls parking lot to Hike Inn (approx 4.8 miles) on a foggy, drizzly day. Took us about 3 hours to hike up and 2 1/2 to hike down. Trail was covered with leaves and soggy/muddy but well-marked with lime green markings on trees and mile markers on wooden...

We hiked up, spent one night and hiked back the next day. We missed sunrise and the great views as the mountain was fogged in for about 36 hours straight, with a light mist and heavy fog. The manager told us those conditions are pretty rare. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience. We are in our 60's, hike fairly often and...

After a great hike to the Inn, we were greeted with a tour of the facility, a good hot shower and a delicious home cooked meal. The bunk room was just what you would expect and the views were stunning. Sunrise was worth the effort and then an excellent breakfast before we hiked back down the mountain. Definitely a place...

Welcoming and unique guest house on the way to the Appalachian Trail! The extent of our experience here was limited, unfortunately, because they were all booked. So we only did a day hike from Amicalola Falls to check it out, and were very impressed with the green buildings and hospitality. Thank you for making coffee available to day hikers! Your...

Me and my 15 year old daughter decided to get way from everything and hike to the Hike Inn. We loved the food, quite without phones and electronics, friendliness and time spent with other people. We played games, enjoyed the outdoors and talked a lot. One thing you need to know is the rooms are very small. They are the...

I used to go to Mt. LeConte annually, but my 60+ years have made that climb a bit too strenuous. Len Foote Hike Inn (HI) was recommended for being an bit easier and a bit less primitive as far as accommodations go. It was a winner on both counts. We started in one of the cabins in the park below...
