We are located 65kms from Kolhapur on the NH 204 Kolhapur - Ratnagiri highway, at the height of 600 meters above sea level, amidst the thick jungles of Shayadri Ranges of eastern Maharashtra district of Kolhapur and coastal Konkan district of Ratnagiri. The climb from Ratnagiri District to the resort is very scenic and is called Amba Ghat. The resort is located in village of Amba, near Dajipur Bison Sanctuary on the Western Periphery. Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary is close to us. At The Jungle Resort, Amba we are a property of 5 acres with natural and jungle terrain, beautiful and bountiful tree cover. In these jungles you can find the great Indian bison and other animals associated with the jungle. "WATERING HOLE," our in-house restaurant along with local Kolhapuri Tambda and Pandhra Rassa, cuisines of delicious seafood we also serve Jain, Chinese menu (we get freshest and choicest fish due to our proximity to coastal Maharashtra - Ratnagiri 60 kms). We only serve HALAL non-veg food. Our kitchen team, who are well experienced, can cater to every visitor's meal requirement. We are a pet friendly resort.

We were looking for a relaxing place with good ambience and food. The ratings of this place was quite high and hence we settled for a 2 nights stay. The property is quite big and wooded with tall Nilgiri and other trees. The roooms are small and the owners for some reason have stuffed 4 beds where they can actually fit 2. Although we were only 2 persons, we were provided with a room having 4 beds, and felt very congested and cramped in the room. The toilet in the room was also very small and some basic commonsense like fixing the bath towel rod away from bathing area were missing. The best part was the varandah in front of the room which was simply great for sipping hot tea in the morning with a nippy weather. The dining area is a big let down. It feels like a hostel canteen with plastic chairs ( which were over used and needed a change), the food is laid is a corner which is not appealing at all. The plastic plates and steel spoons again gave a hostel feeling. The dining area clearly needs spurcing up period. Food was also just basic and not appealing at all. The only thing we enjoyed was the jeep top ride to a nearby dam and temple in the evening. If you choose to stay here, dont miss the evening drive on jeep top. At the resort, there is nothing much to do during afternoon hours and the resort gets quite humid even in end Nov when we visited.

The Jungle Resort is a really nice place to stay. Rakesh and team are extremely welcoming and caring. We booked a wooden cottage with small balcony and view in the forest. Since the camp is located quite remote, we appreciated a lot the excellent food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had veg options and fish, all tasty and good quantities. We also recommend the activities that are proposed. There were a lot of families with kids who really seemed to have a lot of fun on the property. Check out their website for more information. Big advantage for foreigners: You can do online booking with international credit card directly on their website!!

I visited Jungle Resort Amba with family for two nights (29 Sept - 2 Oct). It was a very relaxing and pleasurable visit. The resort management was available 24/7 on WhatsApp the moment I made the bookings 2 weeks in advance. They were very politely answering my queries, giving me information around expected weather and kind of clothes to pack. Very professional ! The checking process was super easy and it took hardly 15 mins before we were in our room. The room was very spacious accommodating 2 Adults and 2 kids (10 & 15 yrs old). The staff was super helpful one of the staff member gave me his mobile number to contact him if needed. Its a sprawling resort with lots of greenery and natural beauty. The package include Breakfast, Veg Lunch, Hi Team and Non-Veg dinner. And I must tell that the food was very tasty (both veg & non veg). Both quality and quantity were excellent. I suggest that don't miss on the safari tour to Pawankhind. Rent for full Jeep for around 40 KMs tour was just 2200 Rs. It was really memorable trip and Jungle Resort Amba is a great place to relax and unwind.

We stayed here for two nights and the stay was amazing. The location is awesome and any person seeking relaxation can enjoy serenity. Staff is very cordial with prompt service for any ask, food (BLD) is super and tasty, Rooms are clean a nice "waranda" for family gathering for each room. Few point where resort can still improve is (POV), Needs intercom in room, proper information should be given on which rides are available and which are not as per the season, how the tracking trips are clubbed with other customer. If you do not have any other family to share the trip in jungle or any other location as per itinerary, you end up paying more or have to explore in your own car. We went in peak monsoon where the extra activity area was muddy with weeds this section should be improved. They have ample space, they can create a great spectacular landscape with various flowers and plants (may be they have some genuine constraints not sure). But overall it is worth for what you pay. Definitely a good stay with family and friends

The resort is located about half a Km off the main road. The last 500 meters are rough and could get prone to some flooding, so you might struggle with low ground clearance cars in heavy monsoons. However, once you reach the resort, it's really good. It's large with a lot of open space. Rakesh at the reception was friendly and checked us in efficiently. We took the wooden cabin and it was really good. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, bright, and was tightly constructed without gaps anywhere, so that no rats and other insects come in. Even the windows were perfect fitting. The bathrooms could be improved though. While it was clean with hot water on demand, it's dimly lit and small. Tanaji took us on a safari that was simply mind blowing. He is an old hand here, and it very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. Dinner was really good. Breakfast was pretty basic, but it was tasty. Tea was good.

Nicely done and well maintained resort. Friendly owner and helpful staff. Service was also good. After all this is designed to give you a jungle-like feeling so we are expected to compromise on a few points, but that's ok. Bed could have been better. Food was basic but good and tasty. They have the concept of Jeep safari... of course you can travel by your own vehicle to all those places. Jeep safaris are good to get that roof-seats feelings.. but only for first 10-15 min. The jungle is namesake with no animals except monkeys. So don't expect a typical tiger reserve kind of trip. But overall fun to stay there for a couple of days with many playing amenities in the resort itself. Highly recommended if enroute!
