“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose” The Bonaventure Resort & Spa (The Bon for short) in the rolling hills of Weston, Florida is, indubitably, a win.
While there were some issues, like broken glass and unkept condoms or smelly bathrooms and dated TVs, the magnanimous...More
We arrived late in the middle of the night and were very tired.
Mr. Sostene Balde the night manager was marvelous. He quickly got us through all the paper work, gave us a great room to stay and wished us a wonderful stay. We felt...More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review The Bonaventure Resort and Spa. I am truly grateful for the positive feedback that you have shared with us on Trip Advisor. I am also excited that you were provided such excellent service from Balde!...More
I was expecting a lot more because of the hype about this property. Beds were uncomfortable, and the family needs a deep clean and update. Reminded me of something that was great in the nineties, but lost its way somewhere. Parking was horrific, having to...More
I can't wait to get out of this hotel. The place is simply a run down motel pretending to be a classy establishment. One of the Tvs in our suite is an old box style that clearly must be decades old. We found 3 things...More

Our goal on property is to constantly exceed expectations, and I can assure you it is nothing short of disappointing to hear about the experience you have had during your stay. Our management team has begun and investigation with security and we have reached out...More
We stayed at the Bonaventure before leaving for a cruise. There was plenty of parking and the whole resort was well staffed and attended. Most everything about the resort was attractive and well appointed. Though the facility has a few decades under its belt, it...More

I was able to find out that the Hospitality Group does NOT own this property. Apparently it is owned by the Chetrit Group out of Miami and Nee York. I called them and they couldn’t tell me if they owned the property or not—-but gave me an email address of the EVP who could tell me, he hasn’t responded to emails and is never in the office to take a call.

Frankly, there aren't any shops within REASONABLE walking distance. If that is what you are looking for IN THE WESTON area, I'd look for a hotel near Sawgrass Mills shopping center if shopping is what you want - definitely a great shopping center. Otherwise, rent a car (which you should probably do anyway if you intend on doing ANYTHING outside of your hotel). Keep in mind that unless you are staying in downtown Fort Lauderdale or downtown Miami, everything is a long distance away - it's Florida... :)
If you do rent a car, I'd recommend paying the extra $10 for the toll tracker device. We didn't and passed a toll on the freeway (no notice it was there otherwise we might have taken a different route) and got a fine in the mail. Fine was for $16 because it was a single offense, but with the amount of driving we did, the fine could have been MUCH worse... just pay for the device and drive with peace of mind...
I always recommend getting a rental car when visiting Florida - gives you the chance to make plans and go places.
If you do go, I definitely recommend visiting the Hollywood, FL boardwalk by the beach... my wife and I spent a whole afternoon there and the beach was nice with clear/warm water (August). There is a place to park at the North side of the boardwalk - it's a nature park, but all-day parking there is cheaper than street parking.
Goid luck and enjoy!
