We had a great stay at Mizner Place. Absolutely beautiful weather! It is located in a great central location for Fort Lauderdale, Miami. We were very CoVid safe and the resort is in a very nice neighborhood. You can walk to shops, restaurants, grocery stores.
We traveled to Weston during the pandemic. There is no need to have a car here! Everything is so convenient to the resort that you can easily walk around. If you want a car, you can take it in 25 minutes to Hollywood Beach. This is a warm location with fun pool activities, a great staff and very clean units. We will definitely return.
This is a great location with shopping center across the street. Rooms are nice, however beds (we had a queen) are not comfortable. If a person next to you moves, you feel everything. Also, pillows very lumpy . Check in had long line (but not as long as their other resorts). You are charged $30 resort fee. The only amenity we wanted was the pool and there were no empty chairs, even at 9 am they were full 3 days in a row. When mentioned our issue at the desk, they weren’t willing to make an exception for the fee. Due to that and not being able to sleep well in their bed/pillows, we checked out after 3 nights, even though we had a week. There is a lot of great restaurants in the area. We also went to flamingo gardens nearby and enjoyed it very much. If you stay at any of the other 2 vacation village resorts, be prepared to wait over an hour on line to check in !!…
This is our first stay at Mizner place. Last year we stayed at Vacation Village at Weston. VV at Weston had a lot of road noise from the highway right behind it, so we thought we would try Mizner. We visited last year and toured the sample room and the pool. The sample room was very nice, updated and the furniture was in great shape as no one ever stays in the model. The actual room we got (1 BdRm, Full Kitchen) is OK with the furniture showing a lot of wear and tear, but still comfortable. Not sure when this facility was built, but the lighting fixtures are all original and very old. Bedroom carpet is very old and worn. The countertops are all vinyl. The shower surround very old. The kitchen cabinets are very dated and low end. The appliances have been updated to SS appliances. This is typical of Vacation Village and I believe most people will find the units clean, but below the quality of their home furnishings, fixtures, etc. I have stayed at a lot of Timeshares. Marriott and Hilton vacation clubs are the best. Wyndham and Sheraton are better. VV collects a lot of money each year per unit for maintenance ($400 x 50 weeks = $20,000 per unit). Why not replace the carpet and do some updates? My guess is that they use this for operating expenses and only a very small portion is to update the unit. I have no idea how this is a Gold Crown Resort. Nothing stood out as outstanding or above average. Mizner is definitely quieter than VV at Weston as long as you get a unit not on the main road. Last year when we visited, there were ample chairs at the pool. This year with Covid, they removed most of the chairs and we could never get a chair at the pool. They have seating for about 30 with probably 200 – 300 guests. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and plenty of places to walk. The location is convenient. We spent an afternoon at Ft Lauderdale beach (30 minute drive), which has a very nice beach. Wireless Internet is very fast. In summary, it is a 3 star resort in a nice location.…
Unit was clean, furniture was dated & worn but adequate, partial kitchen worked for us, staff actually found a luggage cart for us on request & brought it to our room, we're very appreciative. We would stay here again.
