The lobby is very pretty, staff were all nice....restaurant with Starbucks for breakfast was great too. Our problem was we booked months in advance but upon arrival we were told hotel was fully booked and they could only put us in a handicap accessible room, which they made seem was exactly the same as any other room in hotel. When we got settled in room we were exhausted from travel, but we were not pleased that bathroom had zero counter space and understandably the floor in the bathroom has drain for shower since there is no curb for shower. The closet hanging bar was only about 4 feet from floor so all our clothes puddled on floor. When using the shower in morning so much water accumulated on floor it was difficult not to slip so we had to use towels to soak up water and stand on. Just not what we were hoping for. Upon telling front desk they did move us into room we originally had booked which made the last half of our stay so much more enjoyable. This needs to be understood if this is what is offered to guests, it is NOT like the usual room.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The room had two full beds instead of queens. If you want coffee outside of the room coffee maker, you have to pay Starbucks prices. No type of breakfast is included. The biggest issue wit the room was the bathroom had a frosted glass door an if you went to the bathroom at night it lit up the entire room like a beacon.

I have stayed here twice for business in the last 2 months since it is high season in Florida and my preferred Marriott location is either sold out or too expensive. I will say that this last stay will be my last at this location. The rooms are completely out of date and need a renovation. I was put in a room next to the elevators and that is all I heard day and night. The previous time I was in a room that had connecting doors and I felt as if the person in the other room was in my room. The doors to the hallway don't have a tight seal, light comes in from all angles.

I do like that there is a lounge at this location and I have had a decent breakfast each morning along with a fully stocked beverage fridge and great coffee.

However the location of this hotel is not ideal either. You have to cross the train tracks and a very busy intersection to get to all the shops/restaurants/convention center.

I did find the hotel staff to be friendly except for one front desk team member. This last trip I was checked out of my room twice by "someone else" . This made me have to go down to the desk multiple times to get new keys. As I did this, the one individual argued with me twice about my check out. One instance where someone else that wasn't my name checked out of my room. And the other instance when I was actually checking out on my correct date, argued with me that I was checking out the next day.

This property is not up to Marriott standards. My first red flag should have been the swamp cooler in the main lobby. I am a platinum elite Marriott member and have stayed at MANY Marriotts and this is the worst. I will say the staff is very nice but the property is not good. I was on the top concierge floor, and my postage stamp size room looked more like a Motel 6. The shower kept flooding the floor (at first we thought we had the slider doors closed wrong but then realized the water was coming out under the door rails. AND then there was the loud fan that kept running in the bathroom with no turn off button. It rattled very loudly and kept me up. I told the front desk who sent a workman up....he took it apart and put it back together where as it continued to run and rattle the entire stay. Finally I whacked it as hard as I could with a shoe to get it to stop. When I check out and told them AGAIN about it the reply was, 'oh you are in an end room?. Yes, they are noisy." REALLY? Also, while there is a pool, it sits along side a highway so don't stay here for the pool feature. This hotel services the airline industry - many many aircrew in and out during my stay. They are their top customer. It's nice that the hotel provides shuttle service to the downtown restaurants but airline crews come first at this hotel and other customers wait. I've never written a review before but after staying at this hotel, I am compelled to do so.

I waited a couple days to write this thinking maybe I would think differently after hitting a couple other hotels. I don't feel any different so here it goes....Checked in on a Sunday and they were pretty full with guests and they took full advantage of the pricing on line. I was in for 4 days on a group rate which was excessive for the offerings but saw as high as $845 on line. The lobby is nice and gets you excited for your stay but trust me thats where it ends! Be ready to be charged $14.95 a day for internet which only works in your room,as well as $16.95 a day for parking in a lot that both entrance and exit are wide open to come and go. I had my daughter with and she inquired about an office to have a zoom meeting call and she was told that rents for $40.00 per hour. The pool and hot tub are standard Holiday in grade and nothing more. The rooms need a major overhaul, they were clean but very outdated. They offer a fridge which literally will not hold a gallon jug unless you lay it on its side, I inquired about another fridge, but it never showed up, so I bought a cooler to keep a few items in. The restaurant was closed from just after lunch until dinner time so needing a car to get downtown is very necessary. I wish I could say some positive things, employees are good and attentive. As a corporate traveler I maybe expected to much. I was able to put in my membership card and get the internet charge dropped.

First of all I'm a Marriott Titanium for Life member, which has a lot of perks at the vast majority of Marriott family of hotels. This hotel seems to overlook these perks. I recently stayed at this property September 4-7. I checked in the day before on my app and my key cards were ready upon my arrival. I had asked for an upgraded room and the desk associate said the room I have is a “larger” king room, It wasn’t. As you can imagine I have stayed in many rooms and know the difference. Not even an upgrade. I also checked on the occupancy rate and it was at or below 60%. That’s why I asked for an upgrade, because in my experience some associates don’t really want to take the extra time to accommodate loyal members.

I’ve been a Marriott rewards member for 14 years. I don’t often have to ask for an upgraded room, but when the occupancy is at 60% it really shouldn’t be that difficult to upgrade a member especially when the staff has almost three days’ notice.

If you aren't a rewards member this is the hotel for you. Keep in mind the security at this property is very lacking. Normally a key card is required to get to the elite level floors. This is not the case at this property. There is a sign and a sensor in the elevators, but the sensors do not work. So anyone off the street can come into the hotel jump in an elevator, hit any button and get to all floors and that my friends is unacceptable and very dangerous.

I had the pleasure of actually staying here after years of breakfast and lunches at this location. The hotel is located on the perimeter of the main city attractions and financial district. This is a plus as the traffic and congestion are avoidable. In addition, the airport is a 10 minute commute which is also a plus.

The hotel's lobby is presently being renovated but looks to be completed in a week or two. The staff is always pleasant here - - after all, with 80 degree weather in mid December, there's not much to grumble about in the dead of winter.

The grounds aren't much to admire. In fact, the parking lots are the grounds. The rooms are relatively small but up to date. Get a room on the west side to overlook the lake. Rooms on the east face downtown. The downtown area features Cityplace - the main shopping, restaurant and entertainment location of the city. One can actually walk to this location safely or catch the shuttle from the hotel.

We stayed here actually super bowl Sunday. The hotel was within walking distance of city center although the hotel provides a shuttle down to Rosemary Square. We actually walked back. The room and bed were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lounge was well stocked and the staff was accommodating. The desert was cheesecake and was very good. I would stay there again for sure.

It may be the time of year (Presidents Day weekend) - the cost of a room was painfully expensive at $600 plus. Odd as this hotel is the choice for airline and Netjet crews. This hotel is average in so many ways - has a somewhat small pool area, Bistro restraints with a limited menu and a club lounge with short hours. I've stayed over 750 nights in Marriott hotels since 2006 - this is plain vanilla as it gets and a one and done for me. Self park is $16 per day. Friendly and professional staff. Not at all a destination hotel.

There are many restaurants within walking distance, and the hotel offers a free shuttle. Shuttle stops include the convention center and 'City Place," which has many restaurants. If you want to go to places where the shuttle does not go, you may want to rent a car or use a ride service like Uber.
