Many First responders come in from surrounding states to help those affected. Most of the time for the first several weeks following the storm, there are no hotels to stay at in the are (within 100 miles) so many of us gather in hotel parking lots, Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart Sleep in our vehicles and are welcomed in to use restrooms, and lobby areas to do our work.. It's what happens. We're willing to "suffer" in those conditions to help others. This is exactly what I had been doing for weeks, waiting for the day a room would open up so that I could have a nice hot bath. And comfy bed (if only for one night. Today I went to ask (like so many days prior) if there were rooms available, and Instead of offering me a room, sweet, young, unprofessional, un-concerned "Dakota" had me police escorted off the property for trespassing.. I looked at her very confused as she could have handled the situation 100 different ways, but chose to send ME.. (someone who would have gladly paid for a room, and whose company uses Hampton Inn when we have our Training and seminars ) off with the courtesy of a police escort.... Seems a bit counterproductive to say the least!! Thanks Dakota.. Maybe you need a little humble pie, and a class or two in common sense.. You could've had my money and a happy customer, instead you don't have much except a hornets nest of ungratefulness..…
3rd time revisiting this location just to get away for some much needed R&R. Friendly staff, all ready to make you feel welcomed. We booked online so check in was a breeze. Hotel has lots of parking, good lighting outside, sanitizer and wipes upon entryway, clean rooms, comfortable beds. The suites are fantastic has almost everything you need for a getaway. They also have a nice breakfast bar set up if you're interested in eating. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar set up 24 hrs. Easy to access the highways and roads, nearby eateries and love the Nokomis beach nearby. Thank you again, we'll be back!
The people in the next room were so loud partying all night til 5 AM, so we didn't get any sleep. The walls are so thin that it sounded like we were in the same room as them. The cleanliness was not perfect...hairs left on the shower walls, stains on the bedskirt. The thing that was most upsetting is that the desk clerk challenged that our service dog was a service dog, and then claimed that because she saw us carrying the dog it could not be a service dog. Is that a rule she made up herself? We carry her because we don't want people touching her, or if the ground is too hot outside for her feet. Outside of that the hospitality was very good as we always expect being loyal Hilton Honors members.
This is a solid Hampton Inn with great access to Venice & the beaches. Found the room and common areas to be very clean. Breakfast is typical Hampton Inn with a good balance of carbs to fruit to proteins. The common areas have been remodeled. Was in a 1BR suite which was extremely spacious. Yes...it is dated in appearance, but it was quite clean, which is most important to me. You also have easy access to the "Legacy Trail", which enables you to have a very pleasant walk to the restaurants and shops along Venice Ave. I would most definitely stay again.
Location is great. Hotel is older but seemed clean. We had plumbing issues within our room which was a bit annoying. The breakfast area did not feel or look sanitary, so we choose not to partake. We did not leave with a good feeling with our stay and will choose alternate hotel accommodations next time in Venice area.
The Hampton Inn in Venice, FL excels on virtually every front. The plentiful (rare these days) staff were friendly and productive. All the public areas were extremely clean as was our room. Our room was well appointed and quiet. The hot breakfast was tasty, diverse and continually restocked despite what appeared to be a full house over our weekend stay. Multiple coffee options that were always full and hot. The location is excellent, only a minute or so from the historic downtown, although turning left out of the area onto the Trail towards downtown was occasionally problematic (pro tip - hang a right and whip a u-turn at the next intersection). My only complaint was that there were only three chaise lounges and about eight chairs around the pool. That is way too few for a hotel with probably 75 rooms.…
Awesome hotel!!!! Very clean, awesome fitness room. Would highly recommend it. Greatest staff. I was here visiting family in hospice, all of the staff were very empathetic and offered to help with whatever I needed
This was a clean friendly hotel. The breakfast in the morning one of the best I have seen and eaten. Great price as well. It was located in a great location and we walked to dinner across the street. It was quite and the room have everything to charge our electronics.
Hotel was clean and in a quiet area. The only issue that I had was the distance to restaurants and pubs, not in walking distance and having to walk along a very busy highway. In the historic district there was a lot of available parking. Food was good, a very relaxing area.
Clean hotel, scratchy sheets. Hotel needs to be updated. Lots of paint chips etc at door edges, wall corners, baseboards, etc. Luggage rack not in room. Odd names soaps u til next day when Neutrogena branded shampoo, conditioner & soap given. We were woken up at 8:45am by housekeeping running the vacuum in the 2nd floor hallway then the lawn mower at 9am. It would be nice if those things took place after check out time so people can rest. It’s near Patriots Park allowing for a walking area. Also close to a retirement home area so convenient for families visiting.
