the room cost a lot of money and the hotel needs to be brought up to the times including safety, cleanliness and brought up to date. 200 words is a lot of writing to tell you that we were not happy and I know that there was a big hurricane that hit that town but the hurricane was 3 months ago and the hotel needed to be updated 5 years ago
It was a disappointing experience. We arrived to no shower curtain, less than half a roll of toilet paper, a broken bathroom fan, dried toothpaste on the counter, a dirty bathroom floor, a broken shower drain, and no blanket for one of the beds. Those things were addressed when we asked for assistance, but no apology or concern expressed. We were struggling with allergies during the stay and realized why when we noticed mold on the bathroom door and on the desk in the room. When we brought this up, it was noted on a notepad at the desk and an offer was made to come bleach the spots, but that seemed like a bad idea when we would be in the room without time to air it out. Again, no offer to move us to a more acceptable room was mentioned. I might also add that there were children playing very dangerously in the (nice, updated) hotel workout room without supervision (hitting each other and filming it) and when we told them about that they also did not seem to care, which is interesting since that seems like an enormous liability for the hotel. I could not recommend this place to a friend or colleague. …
The room was dirty. There was a stained chair and the floors were so dirty that your feet would be dirty right after a shower. The restaurant tables were not cleaned between diners. The front desk staff were clearly overwhelmed and it showed in their treatment of the guests.
We checked into the hotel and found that there were big gashes in the wall that had never been repaired. After walking around the room for an hour, the bottoms of my feet were black from the filth. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, the attendant said there was nothing she could do about it. When I persisted she finally gave me coupons for the following mornings breakfast.
My faith in ratings has been shaken. I don't understand in any way how people have recently given this motel (yes, it's really not a hotel experience) over 1 star. We travel A LOT. This was easily the worst experience we've ever had. Our room was dirty, outdated, dirty, had black mold on the bathroom wall up high, dirty, all the furniture was banged up, dirty, the air conditioner that blows right over the bed had a large coating of dirt and dust and whatever inside, dirty, carpet stained, dirty...so you get the idea. The corners and edges of the bathroom/tub were literally rows of dirtballs! We couldn't get towels and never got our room serviced. The air conditioner was LOUD and didn't work properly. The room smelled bad, like mildew and stale smoke. There was a lot of cigarette and pot smoking going on all over the property which you could smell even in your room. It was loud very late as the walls must be quite thin! We made the mistake of buying a coffee cake for the next morning & woke to it covered in ants (microscopic, teeny tiny ants) and we were on the second floor (yes, I realize it is Florida...so didn't bother me too much). Now, the good...like others I didn't find the staff unpleasant just unable to help with anything at all! The chef was good, and the breakfast was good. The pool, while dirty was fun. You get the idea.…
Avoid this property as it is badly in need of renovation. The room I stayed in smelled of cigarettes and marijuana and the bathroom resembled what you would find in a truck stop. The bathtub would not drain as fast as the shower filled it … I woke up with insect bites all over legs and torso. Avoid
Whether you’re a local coming regularly, or a guest here for you first time, the bar staff will make you feel welcome. Morgan is one of the most efficient and impressive bartenders entertaining the patrons or handling a huge crowd or event. Shelby is incredible making everyone feel at home and serving delicious drinks. Lots of love also to Michelle behind the bar and Jordan rocking the dining room. Always enjoy coming here for the staff up front and the delicious food prepared by amazing chefs Chris and Jack Jack.
Lost reservation even though I had a confirmation number. No hot water, and staff continually lied about the outage, calling it intermittent. Sheets were filthy, bathroom was full of hair. Paint was peeling from the walls. Loud parties every night in the common area directly outside many rooms.
I used to like staying here, it was my go to place in Venice. I was there this past weekend and WOW how things have changed. Night Staff was rude. There was no hot water all weekend, now I understand that things happen but when I asked if they were going to fix it or if they were discounting the $130 a night rate I was told if I didn't like it find a different place to stay. They knew damn well that all the hotels in the area were all booked. So it just gets better I get to my room after navigating the beer cans and the marijuana smoke and find out that the A/C sounds like a freight train when it works. Then came the screaming kids next door. I went to the office to ask if they can change my room and they told me they could not do that. I was going to use the pool but that wasn't going to happen do to the party that was going on, I guess it was BYOB because the pool deck was littered with beer cans and cases. The bar was apparently BYOB too because the drunks sitting there were feeding out of two cases sitting next to them at the bar. So off to bed, in the room looking for the light switch that I couldn't find so I thought maybe it was on the lamp itself. I'm glad I looked first because the lamp shade and bulb are hanging by exposed electrical wires. Then a 5am wake up call from a new party that formed outside by the pool. Back up at 6 Am from the police looking for someone. Out the door at 7AM back to the office to let them know again about the ridiculous A/C unit and the new found electrocution hazard. I once again asked for a new room and them told me no again. But they did say that they would have them fixed. got back around 10pm and SURPRISE they did nothing, back to the office for a new room, NO again. So no hot water, No A/C, trash in the room from previous guest, trash piled outside my room from the "residents" next door (yes people live there). Electrocution hazard, oh and also found blood on the side of the door. Perfect time for a 4AM wake from the argument going on outside. I checked out the next morning and let the morning manager know of all the issues, she said sorry and she would look into it. The place is an absolute disaster DON'T make the mistake of staying there I have pics and video of all this stuff if anyone wants it…
I called Hotel Venezia to reserve my mom a room because hurricane Ian was headed toward Venice, FL. I spoke with Christy, who was managing reservations. Christy told me to have my mom get to the hotel and that they would help her and make sure she was comfortable until her room was ready. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and caring. During the storm they were so resourceful to keep everyone comfortable. Chef Chris prepared incredible meals for everyone, even in the dark, when power was out. Chef Chris even prepared meals to my mom's liking because there are many things she cannot eat. I am so thankful to everyone for all they did to care for my mom and others during a very stressful time! Everyone at Hotel Venezia took a huge weight off my shoulders, worrying about what was happening from Seattle. THANK YOU ALL!…
