Hotel's Favourite
We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was pretty good and was the Holiday Inn standard. The hotel was close to everything we wanted to do. This is not the newest hotel it seemed but reasonably well maintained. There are charging stations for EVs around the property but it was not cost effective for our plug in hybrid. It may be better for an EV. There are about 6 Tesla chargers at the burger place right next to the property.
The hotel is 8-10 minutes from downtown. The room had a mini frig, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express because it was convenient and recommended by Fox Lea Farm where our grand daughter was in a horse show. It was an excellent location and several restaurants are very near actually within walking distance. Our room was ok. The bathroom had some mildew in the shower and general cleaning could have been better in the room. The staff members were pleasant and accommodating when we asked for anything. Breakfast was ok and had several things to choose from. For a short stay I would recommend this hotel.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, both post-covid lock down. It is very clean and comfortable, and they are offering pretty much a full breakfast (which many chains are not), including their DELICIOUS cinnamon rolls! The price for the area is very budget friendly, and it is close to the beaches and Downtown. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Venice.

Room was definitely santized, but the smell was overpowering throughout the entire building. Housekeeping does not come into the room anymore due to COVID restrictions. I didn't mind making the bed, but it was difficult and annoying to get garbage bags, toliet paper, towels, shampoo refilled, etc. The front desk person was not pleased with all our requests. We were told to leave dirty linens and garbage outside the door. Not the nicest view when you're walking in the halls. We were even more annoyed when we were only left a bag of linens, no garbage bags or toliet paper. We once again had to go to the frontdesk. Breakfast is also distributed at the front desk and is rationed (only one breakfast sandwich per person, etc). Well, my prepackaged breakfast sandwich went in the garbage becuase it was totally disgusting. I understand cutbacks and/or changes due to COVID, but then adjust your pricing accordingly if I'm going to have to do everything for myself like I do at home.

I was employed here for 1 day as a housekeeper and terminated my employment. After watching the cleaning procedures and using the same cleaning towel from room to room, I did not want to be a part of the team. I suggest finding an alternative place to stay. Especially during COVID

We booked two nights for Christmas 2023 and management blocked out a room with two queen beds and an accessible tub. Upon arrival we learned that our room had been painted and was not available. They did not have another room with two queens and an accessible tub. They also did not notify us before arrival so that we could possibly make other arrangements. We ended up in a room with two queen beds and a roll-in shower. The roll-in shower has no shower chair. The sink has no level surface, and there is no side table to put your stuff while getting ready. The door swings inward so far that it is very difficult to enter/exit and open/close the door. The queen beds take up most of the room in the sleeping area and there is not enough room to maneuver a wheelchair. There is a tall closet for hanging clothes but the doors swing outward so a wheelchair user is not able to open it. The rod to hang clothes is too high to reach. There are no drawers for storage anywhere in the room. Not related to ADA, the shades would not close all the way so there was about 2-3 feet of open window that was not covered. The mattress was not comfortable. The room does not have enough lighting and is too dark. Cosmetically, the hotel is older and has a lot of scratches and dents. It needs a lot more than a coat of paint. We have stayed in a lot of Holiday Inn’s and Express’s, and this was by far the worst. After notifying management, they credited a whopping $50 for our inconvenience. On the plus side, the food was good (they even had sausage gravy for the biscuits) and the staff was very friendly.

So, let's start with the bad.....
1) One bad staff member makes all the difference. Monika, from the front desk, was rude and down right lied to us when confronted with her incompetence (management can contact us if they want details).
2) Lack of staff shows in quality control. Was told they went from 9 housekeepers to 3, with a fully booked hotel.....NO towels our entire stay. We literally were handed bath mats at ten o'clock at night because there were no towels. The next day, we were given ONE towel. The staff look very tired and overworked and ragged. No professionalism in their manner of dress at all.
THE GOOD
1) The room was incredibly clean, sanitized, and well kept.
2) Comfortable bed
3) Hot shower (but pressure is too low) and the bathroom amenities are excellent quality.
4) The Covid adjusted breakfast was pretty good, considering their limitations. I should note, the front desk staff had to also prepare and distribute breakfast because the kitchen staff were let go, so we commend them on handling this task as well.
5)OVERALL, it could have been worse with the low staff. That needs to be adjusted. The hotel's saving grace is Front Desk staff member, Christine, who was so apologetic for the situation Monika created, and was as helpful as she could be. I would recommend the hotel, but if they do not adjust staffing, problems will continue to rise and quality will continue to decline.

I'm sorry you experienced issues with your stay, mainly with the staff assistance, towels, and housekeeping. I can see these dampened your visit. Trust that I alerted our management about this so we can make the necessary changes to better our service. Despite that, I'm glad you've appreciated our cleanliness, bed, shower, bathroom, breakfast, and Front Desk Christine. +1
This is my longest stay at an Express, 6 nights. The staff are great, helpful and courteous. Breakfast is comparable to other Express where I stayed. Though the breakfast area is a bit too small, it was never crowded except on the Saturday morning. The swimming pool was closed during my stay for repair, very inconvenient when it was so hot on the days of my stay.
The room looks recently renovated but the bathroom is badly maintained. Stains around toilet seat, foot around toilet bowl, shower basin and bottom of shower door. Obviously the housekeeping department is not doing its job properly. Please see photos.
Being a Diamond Member, I love the Holiday Inn and I hope the management will look into these areas so when I return later, corrections will have been made.

The hot food breakfast service was great. If you preferred, you could 'grab & go.' The housekeeping staff always bought whatever extras you might need since everywhere housekeeping services are limited. The pool was in the SHADE ALMOST ALL DAY!

Right next door we have Brew Burgers. down the street we have Cracker Barrel. Across the road we have a Culvers. there is a tomatillos and McDonalds as well.
