Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed here for one night. We needed a night away from the house and pets, and we had never been to Venice Beach, so this looked like a good place from which to explore a bit.
The bed was comfortable, everything appeared to be very well sanitized and anything loose was wrapped in plastic for protection (tv remote, hair dryer).
Kitchenette was stocked with enough to cook a meal, and the fridge was full-sized. Missing were paper towels - that would have been nice to have. There was only one kitchen towel, and it would have been nice to have a second one on hand when the fist one became wet after washing dishes. I am sure we could have called the front desk for an extra, but it is convenient to have one in the room, so if you like an extra towel, perhaps request one on arrival.
There were plenty of pillows, but we did find them to be very full pillows. Great for sleeping on your back, but not for stomach sleepers. Or course, this is just our preference - if you like large, full pillows, you will really like these pillows!
The water pressure for the shower was good, but for a beach hotel, I really like to see a removable shower head for ease of cleansing. It is just another personal preference, but something I figured I would point out as some people do prefer that option at beach hotels.
We did not go in the pool nor hot tub, but they were both nice and warm when we felt them with out hands. I will say the pool looked clean and well filtered, but the hot tub looked a little dirty so we chose not to get in it. It is possible this was cleaned out later, and we just happened to get there after a large group had departed, but the hot tub needed a really good scrubbing. The pool, as mentioned, did look good.
The water bottles on ice in the lobby, and the coffee and snacks during the day, were a very nice touch. There was also a water bottle refill station located outside of the lobby that we saw many people taking advantage of. That was a really great idea for the hotel to make available!
Breakfast was a perfectly good continental style breakfast, with each individual pastry wrapped up, and some yogurt and cereal boxes. Apple and orange juice were also available, as was fruit, coffee, hot water, and milk. Really a very good continental breakfast!
This hotel is not actually ON the beach, but rather over the sand dunes and across from a parking lot. Our room looked out over the lot, with a view of the gulf if the palm trees swayed. It was nice and quiet at night, at least from our room, and a very easy, very short walk across a barely driven road, through a small parking lot, and over the dunes to the beach.
Overall, excellent place to stay at the beach in Venice. Employees were pleasant and helpful, especially Hakim. The price was also very reasonable for the amenities and location, and I would stay here again if I find my self visiting Venice in the future.

We had a great long weekend over Memorial Day at the Inn at the Beach on Venice Beach, Fl. The hotel staff was amazing, the property is remodeled, very clean and location is key! The hotel is located right across the street from the beach, you can be in the ocean within a 3 minute walk from your room. There is a nice covered picnic pavilion and very clean bathrooms across the street on the beach side with a full service snack bar and beach essentials you may have forgot. The hotel staff suggested a bike rental company that delivered bikes to us so we could ride around the is.and. The pool is small but very clean and lovely. The hot tub was also a hit and we enjoyed bringing our music and drinks down in the evening to hang by the pool while the kids swam after dinner each night. There are many restaurants and nice gift shops about a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk from the hotel. Free continental breakfast is offered in the lobby each morning. The hotel offers nice beach towels to use for beach and pool every day. All the rooms have a few patio chairs and end tAble outside your door and it’s nice to throw all the beach toys, floats, boogie boards and wet towels on the chairs to dry each afternoon. We stayed in the2 double beds studio which had a full kitchen fully equip and a table and 4 chairs so it was nice to have lunch in the room and easy for snacks with the kids. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. We are already flying back down to Florida for 4th of July weekend to stay there again. You can’t beat the prices, location and friendliness of the staff!

Superb location, attractive rooms, and excellent guest amenities make this the finest small hotel experience I have found on the Florida Gulf Coast. Kudos to manager Tim Brown who has overseen every detail from the highest quality beds, bedding, towels and bathroom toiletries to the cheerful palette of paint colors and furnishings throughout the rooms and grounds. I would highly recommended the Inn at the Beach for a first class experience at very reasonable prices.

Upon arrival, Dee at reception, was very helpful. All questions were answered and we were offerrred complimentary water, snacks, and fruit. Our room was clean and bright. We took a standard room with a refrigerator and microwave. I was very impressed that there were plates and utensils to use which was especially helpful to us since we brought food with us. We were able to keep our bikes outside overnight in a courtyard. Breakfast was very plentiful with many choices. Everyone at the hotel wanted to make sure that everything was perfect for us.
The location was fantastic. Crossing the street, we were at the beach. In the morning there was free yoga at the beach which I enjoyed. A great way to start the day. The walk into the shopping section was beautiful with old trees and hanging moss. People we met were very friendly.
The highlight of the trip was biking on the Legacy Trail and the Venetian Waterway Trail which was easily biked form the hotel.

We had a king suite and it was roomy, clean and had a kitchenette and table and chairs. Linens and towels were first class as well as amenties in the bath. Loved the inn had a coin laundry and the manager would have even provided soap and Bounce. Outside there were 2 chairs and a table. The housekeeping was spot on and friendly. The grounds were beautifully mantained and the onsite maintenace crew was always present and working on minor upkeep such as painting trim and keeping the parking lot in tip top shape. Coffee or tea available all day and an adequate continental breakfast (I would just add hard boiled eggs and some cheese for protein and it would have been perfect). Internet easy on and fast, pool area kept immaculate. Beach amenities provided like towels and chairs. Quiet in general, only drawback is no central air so room unit had to keep coming on and off and was a bit noisy, but I understand there would be no ductwork in this kind of building to allow for central air, so not a major drawback. Close to everything I needed and loved my daily walks to marina or downtown. I'd say more but don't want to encourage you to come here as it will get too busy like the rest of Florida in March!

Rooms are small, but very thoughtfully appointed Staff was always friendly and helpful. Nice options for breakfast and always bottled water available in the lobby. They also had drinking water available for refilling bottles which was a nice touch to cut down on waste. Venice Beach is right across the street so the location is PERFECT. The hotel provides beach towels, beach chairs, and a special scooper for finding shark teeth. It's an easy walk to downtown too.
The area is quiet, and all around, just perfect!

Well thought out inn. Our room had much closet space, a nice sitting area and our own private balcony with seating and a view of the Gulf. The Continental Breakfast was all fresh food, with fresh bagels and pastries, and fruit. Coffee was exceptional. In addition to air conditioner, our room even had a ceiling fan.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel and loved being directly across from the Venice Beach and loved our stay. Beach towels were given with the room and the toiletries were also nice touches. Beach towels can be replaced at the front desk as you need them. Though the room was small it had everything we needed and was very clean. Delicious baked goods were provided for a continental breakfast from Yummies Bakery. I gained weight due to that alone! Juices, milk, cereals, bagels, donuts, and delicious coffee daily. Friendly staff on duty were ready to help.
The only down sides were that we were above the office which allowed us to hear the rolling glass entrance door open and close through out the evening and morning. Sounded like a bowling alley. Also, the Air conditioning unit will not run constantly. It will turn off when it reaches the set temperature. If you like the sound of the AC running to drown out the noise from other things, this will be a problem because it stops. We were room #210 and I think it would be best not to get rooms #210-212 for the above reason.

As most of you, my family and I are tired of being stuck at home due to Covid-19. Due to a leaking of an air conditioner onto the carpet at my parent’s house in Venice, Fl, we were able to get away. We stayed in Venice for 2 nights, but the 1 night at the hotel was our favorite. Having to put a dehumidifier and 5 hot air blowers to dry out the rugs in the house we decided to stay at the Inn at the beach on Venice Island. We wore our masks into the office and asked about a room for the night for myself and my two teenage daughters. We ended up with the cutest studio room. It had two queen beds, a porch with table and chairs outside, a kitchen and a bathroom with delicious smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The room was impeccably clean. With this room you received 2 water bottles and a bag of popcorn. My girls were thrilled. After moving furniture and packing up our things we were exhausted and my one daughter and I decided to sit and relax in the hot tub. It was perfect for our aches and pains. The next day my other daughter cooled off in the pool to her happiness. Breakfast was included the next morning as well. There was coffee, tea, milk, juice, danishes, delicious muffins, bagels, butter, cream cheese, doughnuts, yogurt, and more. The nice part about having the kitchen in the room was there was a toaster to toast the bagels, a microwave, a refrigerator, dish washer and a coffee maker. It came complete with dishes, silverware and glasses. The Inn is directly across from the beach and offers to loan you Florida Snow Shovels to sift for the famous fossilized shark teeth that the beaches in Venice are known for. I believe there are also beach chairs on the beach for people staying at the hotel to use. Since we have been coming to Venice for years since my parents moved there we decided to go to Caspersen Beach a five minute drive down the road to search for teeth there. As always we found a bunch. Treasure hunting for teeth has always been one of our favorite things to do in Venice. The hotel has a paper describing why there are fossilized teeth in Venice and pictures of all the different teeth you may find. It is fun to compare your findings and see which teeth you have found. What a treat this Inn is and I recommend it to everyone. We really enjoyed ourselves and everyone who worked there from front desk to maid service was so nice and accommodating. Staying there definitely made our trip.

Inn at the beach offered everything we needed. Checking in and out was as easy as it could be and the continental breakfast was very nice. Our room was very clean, had a full kitchen space and they even left microwave popcorn in a nice bowl, if we should want to pop it and water in the fridge. We choose a room with a beach view and could have walked into town, if it wasn't as humid as it was. Easy drive to shops and restaurants. We loved Venice and will definitely stay at the Inn at the Beach when we return soon.

We booked just one day prior so I'm not sure what the policy is.
In addition to what I have just posted all got private balconies where you can sit. The ground floor people can pass but next level up they are private
2 floors....all outside doors...no corridors! The second floor rooms facing Venice Beach most likely have a view. We were on ground floor and just walked across the street to the beach!
Yes, the Inn has beach chairs to use.
Is it necessary to rent a car? It seems like all the shops & restaurants are within walking distance
Historic Downtown Venice is about a mile from the Inn. It is very shaded and is a nice walk through a small residential area of condo rentals. They have restaurants, shops and even a park. I thought it was very quaint. Not like your busy tourist type areas.
