My wife and I have stayed at the Marriott St Pete several times now. When we consider going to the beach this is where we consider staying.
They have a good breakfast included in your stay, the rooms are clean and each has a view...More
We stayed at this Residence Inn for 5 nights, in a one bedroom suite, for an average of $430.00 per night.

This is a well appointed suite hotel with a full kitchen and it is nicely divided between sleeping and living areas. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night for a family event, but have lived close by for decades and we know the area...More
This is our 4th year in a row at this property in Treasure Island, FL for school break in early March. Each year seems better than the last. Hotel is right on the beach and is centrally located to other beaches, dining, etc. Staff is...More

4th year? Holy Guacamole, has it already been that long? We appreciate returning guests such as yourself as you are part of our Residence Inn family! We will be sure to recognize Alvin thanks to your kind words. We appreciate our staff and truly...More
First off, and most importantly, the staff here is outstanding and makeup for any deficiencies you may find here and there. We arrived at noon and they were able to immediately accommodate us. We were given room 304 with a "sunset view." The room was...More

Well, I don't think you've made a big mistake. I've stayed at the property three or four times in the past two years...We've never had a problem with a broken elevator. There are two elevators that service the hotel...the one closest to the ocean services 9 floors....the one closer to the street I think only services four floors..The elevator is "slow" because of heavy use as well as being a bit old...but we had rooms on floors three and four the last two times I was there...and I often took the stairs down rather than wait on the elevator closer to the beach...I didn't find the wait for the one closer to the street to be problematic except during breakfast hour when there is a crush of folks going to breakfast late. We had a friend (guy) crash on the sofa before leaving for an early early morning fishing trip the next day....he did comment it was not the most comfortable bed he'd ever slept in, but more a comment in passing than really complaining....Depending on the number in your group and preferences for sleeping alone, I can say I think if there are four of you then you will be happier without someone having to sleep on a couch...(so get two, 2Br units) or, if there are six, get two 3-Br units...I found the rooms to be better than average "beach rooms" -- no question they take a hit, but ours were always clean, the furniture certainly acceptable and comfortable...Never a problem with a leak or "tired looking". But, it's a Residence Inn, not a Ritz Carlton. The pool is not huge, but a decent size and comfortable. The beach is gorgeous, and, you are right on the beach...so no crossing streets, etc or lugging chairs, towels, etc across a road. I'd say if you get there and you are not satisfied with a room, let the staff know...I found them to be extremely accommodating to the extent they could be...the caveats: while i am a loyal Marriott member, I call it like I see it when reviewing properties...I don't like surprises, I don't do dirty, and If I feel like I'm being gouged on the price, I'm not a happy patron. The fact I keep returning to this property says I find it clean, staff helpful, the value good and the minor annoyance of the hotel being usually full (another clue for you) and having to wait sometimes for an elevator not enough to make me look elsewhere....hope this helps....If you want a nice upscale meal one night, try Selene's on St. Pete Beach....and for really casual, a grouper sandwich or fried shrimp at Dockside Daves is a good choice. Uber is readily available so everyone can get really happy at any hour you want and no one has to be designated to drive. Hope this helps and hope the hotel meets your standards...
