My husband and I stayed a night on our way to Gangharia and 2 nights upon our return to Govindghat.
We were greeted very warmly by the owners and immediately offered hot tea , rotis and a homemade (and homegrown organically right on the property) vegetable dish.
Our large room on the second floor offered a spectacular view of the mountains and rushing river. The king size bed was clean and firm. My favorite spot was sitting on the sofa next to the great windows, my feet resting on a chair, sipping tea while admiring the view of the mountain range, the various cloud formations, and listening to the steady roar of the river below.
One could also step onto the balcony and sit in a chair and enjoy the breeze and the scenery.
The generously sized bathroom has a water heater so you can take a hot bucket bath.
The grounds of the hotel are replete with flower gardens and vegetable gardens.
Dining tables are arranged on the flat ground for guests to enjoy their meals en plein air.
The local gurdwara is a short walk down the road.
The Ganga Resort is the best location in the valley because of its unobstructed views, lush gardens, and friendly service.
Wifi is available with a hotspot device.

Chances upon this place on the way to valley of flowers. After a tiresome journey it was wonderful to be welcomed with smiling faces, clean rooms with fresh linen and piping hot food served so lovingly by Sharmaji and his wife. Recommend all to stay here while on way to Badrinath or ghangharia. Spacious clean and tidy rooms with clean bathrooms. On way back we again stopped and was served again a piping hot delicious lunch with amazing views by Sharmaji. Awesome hospitality

A fantastic location with a very very comforting host makes this hotel a strong recommendation from me in Govindghat for both Badrinath or Hemkund sahib yatris. The property is maintained very carefully by Arvind Sharma & his wife & the food provided is lip-smacking good. The helipad for Hemkund sahib is just 800 meters away from this place & the surroundings are too good. Do visit this hotel for a wonderful vacation with your friends or family.

Ganga Resort Homely Stay is true to its name! Mr. Arvind and Mrs. Maheshwari are such amazing and welcoming hosts. After a long journey to get here from Dehradun, we only wanted to freshen up, eat light, and hit the bed and this couple ensured we got just that.

Perfectly home-cooked meals cooked straight out with their produce of veggies and rajma, waking up to beautiful views of the mountains from the wide windows of the room that is simple, spic, and span!

Ideal for women traveling alone or in small groups too. This place is also ideal for working individuals who want an escape but still stay connected.

Highly recommended to stay if you are visiting Badrinath temple or simply want to enjoy the scenic view or the amazing weather during winter.

My family and I stayed at Ganga stay as a stop over, on the way to Gangharia (Valley of flowers trek) in the month of July. Initially at the time of booking, I was apprehensive regarding the cleanliness of the rooms and the facilities at the home stay, as I was traveling with my mum and aunts. But, my worries were put to rest at first sight.
Ganga home stay is a little piece of heaven on earth. From the gardens on either side of the walkway which were bursting with bloom of various species, the riot of colours a treat to the eyes, to the spacious and well furnished, immaculately clean rooms and bathrooms to the food and people, all were exceptional.
The best part though is its location! An isolated little home nestled in a valley, located on an incline overlooking a gushing river offering spectacular views.
The host is extremely friendly, very trustworthy, genuine and an awesome cook to boot! The family welcomed us warmly, went out of their way to help us a couple of times and filled out hearts with happiness and our tummies with freshly prepared homely, delicious meals.
We went on to visit Kashmir after that and I was surprised that everyone of us loved Ganga homestay far better than even the 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed at while in Kashmir.
This is a place you go to when you need to unwind, find your inner self and find peace and happiness. I,for sure, will be going back for a long staycation!
You won't regret it guys!

We stayed here on our way to Valley of Flowers during the monsoon season. The property is located at 5 minutes walk from the registration point for the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib and from all the taxis to Poolna depart. It has spacious rooms with large windows and a fantastic view over the mountains. It is clean. We had a very comfortable stay. The staff is very accommodating and helped us kindly with all our requests. We had breakfast and dinner - all very tasty and freshly cooked. In my opinion this is better than any accommodation in Ghangaria ( many of which are very noisy and scarsely hygienic) so if I would have to return to Valley of Flowers I would definitely stay here and take the helicopter to Ghangaria (3000Rs), trek to Valley of Flowers during the day and return here for the night. Of note, we have seen more flowers in their garden than in the Valley of Flowers :)

If you enjoy the sound of river (Alkananda) flowing; if you like to be in a place surrounded by high hills, if you cherish the orange rays of rising Sun shining on snow capped mountain top then this is the place for you to be. An eye catching array of flowers will welcome you to the place. Mr. Arvind Sharma and his wife take care of guests like his own family member. Vegetables grown in his backyard will definitely make your each meal more enjoying and fulfilling. Both, husband and wife will never make you feel bored or unhappy. They constantly keep trying to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Each room is so meticulously made to give you a feel of modern contemporary 3 or 4 star hotel room that you will not have scope of complain.
I feel whether anyone is going to Badrinath or Mana Village or Valley of Flowers, you will not find any better place than this. Mr. Sharma can also give you in detail each visiting spot’s minute background and history.
I feel anyone can and should stay here if he/she is visiting those places, without thinking twice.

This place is very comfortable and scenic. We had an amazing view from our room and the food they made was super tasty. They also have hot water showers which was really nice since it can get cold up here. If you are going up to Ghangaria do not expect to find a place this nice. It is by far the nicest hotel nearby. Unfortunately you can’t stay here and hike to the valley of flowers unless you decide to take the helicopter, but it is the perfect place to stay before and after Ghangaria.

Ganga Resort Homely Stay

Best resort for unique experience .

I am Australian citizen and Himalaya has been always a dream destination for me .
During this Covid pandemic I was looking for place to live somewhere where I can stay until pandemic is over .
Luckily I came across this wonderful resort in the lap of mighty Himalayas on shore of Alaknanda river , away from hustle and bustle of crowded Indian cities .
Ganga resort Homely stay at Govindghat Uttarakhand India. I came here during September 2020 and stayed though till January 2021. Every meal served here was cooked with ingredients grown organically in house .
Ganga resort Homely stay is serene place at the gateway to Valley of flowers and Hemkund Sahib trek . 20 KM away from Badrinath as well as Joshimath and Auli. Nearest village Pandukeshwar is one and half KM from here .
Anyone going to Himalayas should include this destination on their itinerary for following resons .
Natural beauty, here is second to none .
If you are bird lover then this place is must visit for you, it has so many species of birds and butterflies roaming around which also varies season to season as new birds keep migrating .
You can also see lots of wild life during winter when they start migrating down from freezing higher slopes to lower grounds in serch of food and water . During my stay I was lucky to see Himalayn Tahr , Himalayan Leopard and Indian Bear .
There are so many interesting places nearby which you can visit in a day trip .
Badrinath , Joshimath , Auli , Vishnuprayag , Indias last village Mana , Bhimpool , Vashishta cave, Ganesh Cave, Niti valley, Urgam Valley, Gopeshwar , Chopta, Guptkashi, Kedarnath and lot more .
Owner Mr. Arvind Sharma and his wife Maheshwari are running this place themselves . Both of them are excellent cooks . Both are great human beings . They did look after me and my wife so well and for that we do not have enough words to thanks them for their kindness. I came here as an other customer but left as one of their family member . I must say I fall in love of them and this place and would have stayed there for ever but because of harsh winter I had to leave but I am sure I will definitely keep returning again and again to enjoy everything
