The distance from Key West was too long, and the surrounding nature was nice. From the small back porch, one could see iguanas sunning themselves just steps away. Service was friendly, and the free coffee in the mornings much appreciated. Unfortunately, to me, the room itself felt dirty and musty, and I even felt like I don't want to walk...

Before I start my review, if you are looking for a modern hotel then this place is not for you. This was a great place to relax and still relatively close to key west to visit at night and roam the town. As others stated, the decor is a little outdated but the staff was nice and the views were...

I really enjoyed roaming around this Lodge’s property looking into the water at the fish and taking photos of the animals and plants. Sugarloaf Lodge is one of the older hotels in the Keys, it has some interesting history. If you have a boat this is also a nice location for docking your boat and exploring the waters. The Sugarloaf...

I would give this place a 5 but it needs updated.. The front desk was very nice .. The outside was ok but the rooms reminded me of the Brady bunch house.. I wouldn't pass this place bc of the way it looked .. It was a gem literally on the gulf with a great view .. Get past the...

Very friendly staff in a beautiful location. There's a pizza place on property with a nice Tiki Bar. Miller Lite was $3.00. Didn't have any food. Room was dated but it looks like most places in the Keys are. Problem was the floor was still dirty and overall the room could use a deep cleaning. Also, both beds were in...

Stopped in on a bicycle trip to Key West. It's a great little lodge run by great folks. They were even able to help with much needed bike repairs. And help finishing my ride to Key West Awesome A great keys experience

This would have been a 4 start rating from me instead of a 5 due to a small customer service issue at check in, but the owner actually called us himself to rectify the situation and that level of service alone warrants the extra star. Don’t let the reviews that say this lodge is dated throw you off. Yes, the...

This place is so retro, I was expecting to see President Kennedy on the tv screen. Either that or it would have one of those message beds you could work for a quarter. However, it was very comfortable and away from the crowds--and expense--of Key West. It was a bit of old Florida in the Florida Keys.

Awesome place to stay about 15 miles north of Key West. Had room 419 (second floor at end only a few feet from ice machine) - quiet clean and EXCELLENT view with balcony. Has Tiki bar on water with very reasonable prices. Take-out grill (burgers, pizza, etc) on property was tasty also with very reasonable prices. Did next day motorcycle...
