This was our first RV experience in the USA! There were 4 of us in a 30ft Coachman Camper. The campsites we stayed in were great - Sugarloaf Key, JJ Prince in Lake Worth and Larry and Penny in Miami. All clean and well run. However there were some things we did not know that made our trip unnecessarily difficult....

I adore The Keys and it's a quick and easy vacation. KOAs are always the better campgrounds and this place is no exception. Fun water front, bar, heated pool. VERY clean shower and restrooms. My only complaint, something that has nothing to do with the KOA itself, is the gnats. They absolutely destroyed me. If you visit, and I think...

*** Under Construction *** You will not be able to get any sleep at this campground! To start things off, after we parked the RV and went in to Key West, we received a call that we would need to be moved to another campsite due to a tree being cut where they parked us. Little did I know that...

Worst KOA in US. Poor costumer service. Arrived 4:45. Finished setting up 5:05. Registration already closed an gone. No information on arrival slip with wi fi code. Pool closed 30 minutes after arrival. Bathrooms being renovated trailers for use. 20 miles from Key West. Advertised as Key West site no where close to Key west. Bad experience for price. Would...

The place is currently under construction so you aren't able to sleep in during the week because theres jack hammers and trucks in and out of the place. We've stayed there twice a couple of years ago and had a blast. Some sites are difficult to get a 40' camper into so expect that. We had difficulty finding a construction...

First of all this campground is more like a giant gravel parking lot. Barely any trees. Next we got the sites right in front of the new building they were erecting. They had machines blaring almost all day. And it 6pm on saturday night they had a car washing service cleaning a truck with a portable generator right in front...

4 out of 5 because they fit the RV's just wide enough to get your Awning Out and of course the slide out on the other side. Not sure about the complaints about the beach but it's not a 5 star resort. KOA can't control the environment and when tide is low you do see rocky area's. My 12yr and...

Ok so at first glance this place seems awesome. The RV was clean and had enough space for a family vacation however, the beach was terrible, staff was rude, and pool was dirty. Don't go to the little private beach that they try to lure you into with cool water toys anchored to the beach, it's a trap!!!! This water...

Yes, I know the keys are hot, but the lack of any air movement here just made it unbearable. The beach is small and cute, but the amount of jellyfish at this location made swimming nearly impossible. My daughter was stung on her first swim. We reserved a tent space for the weekend. Spaces are not assigned, but are first...

About a month before Labor Day weekend we called and they had available sites, so we booked. It was empty when we arrived as they had numerous cancellations because of Hermine, but that was okay by us. We had site 405 right, I am talking, right on the beach! Loved this site, because you walk right out and you are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
