We visited for our annual trip to Siesta Key. Between booking in July and arriving in May, Prudie retired and the place was sold on to Tropical Breeze Resort across the road. The room we had was the same that we've booked for many years and the facilities were exactly as before. The people at Tropical Breeze are very nice but the homely feel of a small resort has all but disappeared as it has been subsumed into a larger, less personal enterprise. Prices for the future have gone up considerably and it no longer represents value for money.....our trade has gone elsewhere for next year's trip. We will miss it but the unigue USP has now gone.

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful week in Siesta Key. We decided to try a new place this year. We found Sunsets on the Key. This is a wonderful well kept property with a great location. You can park your rental car for the week and literally walk to everything. The room was nice, very clean and the owner Trudy was very helpful and friendly. The pool was very nice and since it was the off season we had the pool to ourself most of the week. If you are looking for a nice well maintained property I would highly recommend Sunsets on the Key! We just returned from Sunsets on the Key in Siesta Key! What a wonderful time we had. We traveled with 3 young children and the property was perfect for us. After a long drive, we were able to park the car and walk everywhere. There is a grocery store, shops, places to eat, ice cream shops all within a minutes walk. The grounds were beautiful and the pool was lovely. I felt very safe letting my kids play outside while we watched from our balcony. They could easily go back and forth to the pool. The beach of course was amazing. It was about a 3-4 minute walk to the beach. Sunsets had umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys that we were able to take with us each day. The owners are a lovely family who take care of everything themselves. They were very helpful to us each day when we needed anything. I would say that the accommodations were very clean and have all the essentials. Luxury...not really, very basic but I would still give this place an excellent rating. It was well worth the drive and very relaxing. We hope to return again soon. Check it out! Location Location Location!

We just returned home from a weekend at Siesta Key where we stayed at Sunset on the Key. What comfortable accommodations! Eight woman from work joined together to enjoy a Girls Getaway Weekend and we weren't disappointed in Sunsets. The entire staff was so cordial and very helpful in every way. We occupied three separate units, all very clean and well furnished from the popcorn in the microwave to the ample supply of towels for eight woman. They went out of their way to provide us with a copy of our boarding passes in spite of their internet being temporarily down. The customers are Guy, David and Prudie's first concern. We had a wonderful time walking right around the corner to the Village and right down the street to the beach. Due to the awesome location ,we didn't even have vehicles on site choosing instead to pay $40 for an airport shuttle to the facility. Great Job Guys!

We stayed here last year for spring break and I would highly recommend it! We are a younger mom and dad with 4 kids. There are only 8 units on the property which was wonderful for us! We have 2 teenagers and 2 younger kids and this smaller property was great. It was well maintained and clean. the pool area was wonderful and had a small grounds area. With being a small unit it allowed for our kids to hit the pool (which we could see the entire area from our room) or play in the yard green while we were finishing getting ready or cleaning up from meals. It felt very safe and with larger condos and hotels you could not let your children roam a little and here you could. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. They were fully aware of who was supposed to be there and what was going on at all times! They were kind to our children as well and by the end of our trip we all felt like we knew each other. It would be nothing for them to be having coffee in the morning. and for us to have a 10-15 min conversation with them about the weather, attractions or share stories! Since I have never vacationed here I was a little nervous about it not being directly on the beach even though it says a short walk. I truely is a very short walk...4 minutes tops! Even though you do cross a road... it was rarley busy and everyone drives slow and with caution and even with 4 kids it was never a problem. It is also in the heart of the village! you are literally located around the corner from the village. The pictures do not do this place justice! It was a nice, clean, safe place to stay. I will say that is is not over the top or a 5 star place... if money is not an issue for you and are looking for something fancy this is not the place for you. I do feel it is a little pricey but it is NOT any different from any of the other places in Siesta Key, it is a rather expensive place in a whole to vacation. My family and I fit in very well here.. safe, comfortable, clean and friendly. We are down to earth people just like the owners! If we go to siesta key again we WILL be staying here again!

After leaving a terribly overcrowded, misrepresented resort in central Florida, Sunsets on the Key was an absolute sanctuary. It was quaint, quiet, clean, comfortable and convenient. The grounds and room were well maintained and very clean. The bed and sofa were comfortable and it was nice to have a TV in the bedroom and one in the living area. My daughters favorite part was the dolphin toilet handle in our bathroom. :) The beach is about a 5 minute walk away and is absolutely beautiful!!! Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys are provided for guest use and towels for the swimming pool and hot tub area. One of the nights it rained and we were able to “check out” a couple of the movies they have in their movie library; which also was the perfect time to enjoy the bag of microwavable popcorn that was in our microwave! The owners are extremely friendly and personable, and do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable and stress free. We had 3 adults and 1 child in our group and the amenities were perfectly suitable for all of us. The location is conveniently located near the center of the village within walking distance of the grocery store, shops, restaurants, ice cream and much more. You literally could park your car the day of check in and never get back into your car until you check out. We had a wonderful stay and are planning to go back this year and hopefully make it a yearly vacation!!

Several months since our most recent visit to Sunsets on the Key; very remiss of me to have overlooked the annual review of this superb resort. This was our fourth visit to Sunsets on the Key (our fifth is already booked). We are reasonably well travelled and have high expectations of accommodation and facilities. Because of this, when we find a gem, we revisit. This is a gem. Fabulous location: steps away from what has to be the best beach we have ever visited and also convenient for the village and its restaurants and shops. Despite this proximity to the heart of the village, it is an oasis of quiet and relaxation. We can't praise the resort more highly than to continue to return annually for our Easter break. The management are unfailingly helpful and it has become a home away from home.

We are just back from our stay at Sunsets on the Key. We had two grandchildren with us and we all really enjoyed the pool/spa, the short walk to the beach, and the closeness to the Village restaurants/shops. We liked that they provided beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and towels. I would highly recommend this property for a stay at Siesta Key.
