Hibiscus Suites garners praise for its generously sized, clean rooms featuring full kitchens and cozy furnishings, though some guests note the decor could use refreshing. The homey atmosphere and modern touches are appreciated, yet a few find the aesthetics lackluster.
Its location near the beach and local attractions is a highlight, as is the attentive service from the hotel staff. While the value for money and amenities like a warm pool and beach shuttle add to the appeal, travelers mention occasional traffic noise.

This is a beautiful place to stay just down the road from Siesta Key. The rooms have everything you need for a stay if you want to self cater. There are also many lovely places to eat locally. The beds are so comfy and there is a large free parking area. Lastly, the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Recently stayed here with my wife while visiting family for the holidays. The room was large, with a full kitchen which was wonderful to have- appreciated that dishes were made available in particular! Everyone working there was polite and helpful, the bed was comfy, and it's a simple straight shot to Siesta Key. Really great location for enjoying this city, especially if you plan to split your time between downtown, the key, and some of the surrounding natural areas like Myakka State Park.

We rented a room just for the day while we spent the day at the beach. We were able to check in at noon and checked out by 6pm. The teenagers spent the day in the room since they aren’t fans of the beach. Those of us who did go to the beach got to enjoy the shower and wash all the sand off. We got a queen bed room with a couch, which provided seating for our family of 12. They also had a nice outdoor pool for us to swim in while there was a line for the shower. They also had a hot tub that was actually heated! The first we had found during our trip. Most hot tubs had been shut down since they can’t social distance. Also- the fitness center was open!

In all fairness, this hotel is very "old school" Florida. The suites have been upgraded and have a nice modernized kitchenette, 2 large Samsung flat screen tvs, a sectional sleep sofa, luxury vinyl flooring, ceiling fans and a very comfortable bed. The location is very convenient, being close to shopping, dining and the bridge that takes you to Siesta Key. However, walking to these places is very difficult. The sidewalks have been torn out, due to construction on the lot next door. The location is on an extremely busy road and trying to cross it without a cross walk is very dangerous.
Some minor improvements would make the units more functional and attractive. The bedroom needs blackout shades, the bathroom needs a door to separate the dressing table area from the shower/toilet area to allow for privacy. There is a nice barn door that separates the bathroom from the bedroom. Unfortunately, the updated faucet in the bathroom is corroding and already needs to be replaced. The sectional sofa in the living area is very uncomfortable and dark black/brown in color. We only had 1 remote to control 2 tvs. The blanket on the bed seemed old and worn out. The rooms are boring because the decor is dark brown. It desperately needs some pictures and accents of color to reflect it is a beach location. However, the staff was helpful and pleasant and the units are clean.
All in all our stay was ok.

My wife and I stayed on a three night business venture in the area.
We came across this superb facility on Booking.Com.
I am extremely satisfied with the room, grounds and amenities. The front staff was friendly and informative in all of the stay. Particularly Nick whom I recommend for anyone to reserve with or answer any questions.
The room e as impeccable starting with the kitchen which was extremely clean with a new oven that has a bake and microwave usage. All utensils are.there for you. The living room had a large TV and spacious clean well planned part of the room. The bathroom was also very clean with a vanity sink lighted. The shower.was terrific with a blue glass tile beautiful wall in the back of the shower. The bedroom was soundproof and felt like we were in a quite peaceful respite place to sleep. The large TV, adjunct bathroom, clean and spacious was absolutely perfect.
The Siesta Key Beach is 2 miles away. Over the short immediate beach linkup had a fishing store with bait and equiptment made it a special fisherman's haven.Hibiscus Suites is close to restaurants and fun activities with accessable to interesting places.
I recommend this facility whole heartedly the best you can book for a short or long stay.

Recently remodeled apartment/suite. Nicely done. Apartment was attractive and very clean. Bed was very uncomfortable-cheap mattress that had noisy springs. Condensation in master bath was annoying. Limited dishes and old pots/pans that were impossible to cook with. Nice fridge/freezer but stove/oven was out of commission our last morning. Housekeeping did not make beds. Seems they only took out trash and replaced towels. Pool is nice. Laundry facilities available but one of the washers was out of order. You will need $1.50 in quarters for wash and $1.00 in quarters for dry. Quarters were impossible to get at front desk, Publix, Walgreens, and CVS. Since property is off the island, SK shuttles are not available unless you want to walk over the bridge to Midnight Pass (about 15 minutes). Overall, it was OK and I would recommend but if you intend to cook your own meals then bring your own cooking/eating supplies.

We spent a week at the Hibiscus. This is an older hotel with a good maintained exterior. The rooms have been recently remodeled and look modern. Suites have a full size refrigerator and microwave and a 2 burner stove. Our suite had a comfortable king size bed and 2 large flat screen TVs. Overall the place is very clean...but....
I noticed that if I walked barefoot after a shower, the soles of my feet became dirty quickly. I spilled some water on the floor and wiped it up with a hand towel and the towel came up filthy. This was day 1. The worst part of the stay was the poor maid service. They would come in promptly when asked but wouldn’t do much cleaning outside of replacing the towels. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

The suite had a separate bedroom with a door and a full kitchen which was nice as we were able to eat in the room after having eaten at a long string of restaurants at previous stops on our trip. We also seek out suites with a door between the bedroom and the living room as one of us gets up earlier than the other. The hotel has a very nice pool.
The staff was very courteous and provided helpful information about the area. They also let us check out an hour late which was great.
The suite is quite sparsely decorated and the living room furniture is a bit tired so the room did not create a good first impression but the place grew on us as we were there. It's also on a very busy main road. We got one of the suites closer to the road as they were quite full and we had booked at the last minute so there was some traffic noise, but not too bad. I would recommend requesting a suite that is further from the road (there are some) if you are going to stay there.

Came down to Sarasota for work. Was here for about 2 and a half weeks. Was put up at this hotel, which is dubbed ‘The Gateway to Siesta Key.’ First off I need to say that i heard that the beaches of Siesta Key are one of the best beaches in Florida. They are white quartz sand - they really are lovely. And what is great about the Hibiscus Suites is that they are affordable lodging right before you get to the beach area….and the rooms are great because they come with a living area with a small kitchen where you can cook food, and also a separate bedroom. They are roomy and comfortable. You can also sit on the patio and just enjoy the scenery. ALSO, the pool is warm, so amazing…you can just walk right in and it feels great.
One of my favorite things to do…besides sitting on my patio…is to sit up near the front of the hotel as well. You can also get free coffee in the lobby and just sit there and relax, or talk with the staff…..
…which leads me to one of the best things about this hotel: the staff. They were all so friendly. I was checked in by Letty and Jack [the general manager] but you will meet AJ, Bianca, Russel, and Mike. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, which I truly appreciate since I was here for so long and away from home.
One more thing….the beaches at Siesta Key can get very crowded but there is an awesome service called The Frog Hop. You can get the number at the front desk…but it’s free trolly that will pick you up…they just work of tips…but they will pick you up and take you all along the beach and drop you off [as well as pick up up] so you don’t have to look/pay for parking. It is very very convenient.
So in short….stay here. Come and relax…and if you do, tell them you heard about it from Michael!

My husband, doggy and I needed to crash for 3 days after selling and moving out of our house in Sarasota. The suite was immaculate, gave us privacy at the back, and was on lower level. We were thrilled. Take out dinners from Carrabbas Italian across streets, Panera, Publix, Walgreen, banks, were 3-4 mins. away. Minimal interaction with office. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Sorry I don’t know. We always took the car.
Walking? No, not really. It is quite close by automobile to many, many places - restaurants on Tamiami Trail and about a mile and a half over the bridge to Siesta Key. They offered us free bus service down there and to the public beach.
I don;t know about the pet friendly situation as we are pet free. But the Hibiscus was a good second choice for us.
Perhaps you should contact the hotel. I didn't need an extra bed so I don't know their policy.
yes hibiscus suites is pet friendly; no pet fees were charged during my stay
