We stayed at this quaint little place 2/12-2/16 and were happy with it. It is retro '50s but well maintained. Don't expect elevators because there aren't any. Tis only two stories though and right on Lido Beach and one mile (walkable) from St. Armands Circle with shops and restaurants galore. Our room was like a studio w/ two comfortable queens,...

Hubby and I are Staying at coquina on the beach thanks to a family recommendation. We extended our stay because we were having such a great time! This hotel is so clean, we are extremely picky about cleanliness and we're very impressed. We moved to second floor bc we extended our stay and our original room was booked. I actually...

We spent one night at Coquina to celebrate my birthday and had a beautiful surprise with the upgrade of our room. We were told that there was an available room with a better view to the ocean and that we could stay there since we had only one night reservation. All I can say is that I saw the most...

Old style place with great beach access , rooms are HUGE but fairly dated. The housekeeping was excellent. Very close to St Armand's Circle and all that it has to offer. The parking lot spaces are pretty tight if you are driving and beware the early morning raccoons in the dumpster. Never did use the pool but the sunsets were...

As others have said, the rooms are a little rustic, or shabby chic, but that's fine for the beach. The manager (Andrea?) was very helpful, first in opening the unorthodox sofa bed, then, more important, refunding our payment once we'd experienced the red tide. It hit just as we arrived. Never experienced it before. Very toxic. We were coughing as...

We made a last minute reservation to stay at Coquina and were pleased overall with our stay. I can overlook some peeling pain and chipped cabinets for friendly, helpful staff and such an awesome location! The room was large and clean. I have never stayed at a hotel that is right on the beach, so I was surprised by the...

This was our second trip to Sarasota and we stayed here over the weekend. When we first pulled into to what seemed to be a residential area, we weren't sure what to expect. Once in to that tight parking lot, we saw the building and it's access to the beach. What other reviewers are saying about the hotel being 'tired'...

This stay was a girlfriend's get away and we opted for the ocean view suite. The hotel is a bit tired...but immaculate and the staff we met were helpful. Andrea at the front desk was welcoming and the gentleman who works on the maintenance helped us with the luggage to the second floor without even being asked. The view from...

This is an old charming, cozy, shabby chic place to stay. Exudes an ambiance of old rustic Florida. Staying over 20 yrs at Coquina. Love it. The staff can not do enough for their guests. They are very welcoming.

Spent 3 nights at the property. People great and friendly. You are right on the Gulf and also have a pool. Only a short drive to St. Armand's Circle and pretty much everything is there. Water everywhere and had a great time. We walked on the beach day and night, it is literally right out the door. The hotel itself...
