The Heron Cottage where we stayed was roomy with a king size and very comfortable. Nice view out of the master bedroom onto a swamp pond with a yellow crowned heron nesting in plain view. Got some great pics. Free bikes provided. At the end of Jamaica Rd (1/2 mile west) we could get to an almost private beach. The...

We always look forward to staying at Periwinkle. Simple, basic accomodations, yet Mark provides all you need for a relaxing, comfortable stay, including the beach towels, chairs and umbrella, and bikes to get around. This was our fourth time, and we are looking forward to our next visit.

For an inexpensive place to stay on Sanibel Island-Periwinkle Cottages. There are only 4 cottages, three have screened in porches. It's quiet and quaint. This is not a 5 star resort but it is very comfortable with full kitchens. You can really relax here. You're allowed onto a private beach which you can walk, bike, or drive to. Every year...

this was our 4th stay at the cottages and it was like coming home. Mark does a great job at keeping things clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking in; each of the 4 cottages has its own Weber grill too. There are beach carts now to haul all the beach stuff - chairs coolers, umbrellas -...

We stayed in the Heron. I have never stayed in a condo or cottage that was so well supplied. Beach towels, Beach chairs, umbrella were all provided. We did not take advantage of the bikes until the last couple of days. that was enjoyable also. It was a very good experience. the cottage was clean but could use some sparkle....

We stayed in the Heron, a 2 bed/2 bath since it was a couple and a single. The kitchen was large and well equipped. We cooked every meal for a week after shopping before we hit the island. The charcoal grill was a bonus since it kept the cottage cleaner and cooler. The screened in porch was soothing for a...

Hi Folks. They have 4 Cottages. We stayed in the Egret cottage for 15 nights. This is a quiet neighborhood a block away from the (private) beach that they have a pass to and 100 yards from J.N."Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. The rooms in the cottage had complete services and were clean and quiet. It's a nice place to...

The cottages are a great place to stay. Access to private parking make for access to beautiful beaches with few people. The cottages are clean, well maintained with a complete kitchen and even your own bbq grill. Lots of people are regulars that come every year.

since this was our first trip to Sanibel, we were a little apprehensive regarding accommodations. Once we arrived we were very pleased and added an extra week onto our stay. Mark and Kathy are wonderful and treat you like family so just bring your clothes and food because everything else is provided including chairs, umbrellas and plenty of bicycles.

We stayed in the Heron cottage (1 bed rooms only) for a week between Christmas and new year. The accommodations comfortable, clean, quiet and well equipped for a beach style cottage. Lovely screened in porch. Parking for one vehicle. Location outside tourist area is perfect with minimal traffic congestion and located near the Darling Nature Preserve. The beach is a...

“Next time we would like to reserve one of the one bedroom cottages which are very roomy and nice looking on the inside. Everything else there was booked when we made reservations and were just glad to get the efficiency but for a week's stay one of the larger cottages would be better.”
