The Kona Kai resort is pretty nice, and centrally located on the island and right across from Billy's bike rentals which you must do if you're staying on Sanibel Island, but what takes the Kona Kai resort from ordinary to extraordinary is Brenda. She is very friendly and makes you feel right at home no matter how far from home...

I can't really add much more to what has already been said but I must mention Brenda the "manager extraordinaire" who is just lovely and can't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, there is a nice pool set in quaint gardens. The motel is on Periwinkle Way which is the main road...

Very friendly owners. Nice place to be. In comparison to other hotels in that region its cheap bit we were in midseason and find THE prices high. Different season NeXT time.

We loved our stay at Kona Kai Motel on Sanibel, Fl. We will stay here again. We noticed the pretty landscape as soon we arrived. The property has a charming, lush, Florida tropical feel with seashells sprinkled around the gardens & on the tables at your front porch to your. The buildings have a Florida cottage look & are very...

If you're looking for a clean, quiet, cozy little place at a reasonable cost by Sanibel standards during high-season, you may like the Kona Kai Motel. We spent three days in an efficiency with a kitchen, which had plenty of room, a partial-vaulted ceiling, a charming wicker bedroom set, recent decorating, a small, but squeaky clean bathroom, a small TV,...

We just returned from a 9-day stay in Sanibel at the Kona Kai and cannot wait to go back. Our wonderful hosts Brenda and Lenny made us feel immediately at home. Our room was charming with tropical bedding, nice accessories and very clean. We loved our sunny porch that faced a communal center courtyard full of travelers palms and other...

Super location and great facility! Large inviting pool and lush tropical landscaping including a park like area out back on the Sanibel River. New ownership and Brenda & Lenny make it a gem on the Island. For motel / small resort accomidation the Kona Kai is great. Will be back..............

If you go to Sanibel Island, Kona Kai is the place stay. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious and very comfortable. But we loved the porch the most! Beautiful garden and nice swimming pool. Free parking. Although Kona Kai is not located at the beach, the location has several advantages. Next door is a 7eleven for your groceries,...

We stayed here for a quick Thanksgiving getaway and were simply looking for a clean & comfortable place that was reasonably priced. Kona Kai is under new ownership, and it's obvious some upgrades need to be made (the nighttime lighting is lacking; the bathrooms are a bit outdated). But Kona Kai's charming tropical courtyard and surrounding island atmosphere, the small...

The Kona Kai is clean, convient, unique atmosphere, friendly, relaxing... accross the street from Billy's bicycle rental. We rented our bikes and were able to ride to all the beaches, and the nature preserves. Kona Kai has tables & chairs outside, so it is comfortable to eat or drink in the evening. Overall, very relaxing. It is not eligigant, but...
