Hotel's Favourite
We stayed for two nights and the experience was great. The 'M' or 'E' lounge was closed as it was a weekend but the front desk gave us breakfast coupons to use instead. There is a Starbucks café located inside the hotel as well. 1. Quiet location and easy to find. 2. Spacious room with full size bathroom. 3. Excellent desk workspace with fast internet. 4. Outdoor swimming pool(big size) on the roof top. Towels are provided. Fitness center has the swimming pool view. Sauna room available as well. 5. Plenty of sheltered parking available($10 fee charged per night). 6. Front desk was attentive and courteous. 7.Breakfast was decent and very nice seating area(indoor as well as outdoor). 8.Kimberly checked us in and was fast. 9.Long stretches of sidewalks available on the University Dr. if you prefer to run or walk instead of using the Fitness Center. 10.Housekeeping is available only upon request. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area!

Have to ding them at least one point for parking. The deck is not adjacent to the hotel, so it’s a wet jog if it’s raining. However the real issue is that the deck floods. They do warn you, but be sure to park on at least the slope up to the second level. The flooding won’t ruin your car, but you will have to wade in ankle deep water to get to it. Plus, in a brand new deck - no charge stations or outlets. Lots of other hotels in the Ft. Lauderdale area provide energy for EVs. Look to those if you’re electric. Rooftop pool is nice. Even on a hot and muggy day there was a nice breeze, as well as some shade. Fitness room was well appointed with treadmills, ellipticals, two bikes, and a nice range of dumbbells and a crossover cable machine. Breakfast buffet was very nice. And as others have said, plenty of space in the suite. It’s pretty close to lots of shops and restaurants, and across the street from the just-opened Tacocraft - a fantastic little place.

When I checked in my room, I settled in and started to get the towels out. I then saw I roach on the towel and promply called guest services and they gave me another room and compensated me with a breakfast bar $20 card. In my new room, I noticed the duvet had a brunt look to it. I called guest services and told me that those type of blankets are not suppose to be on the bed, so they sent housekeeping to give me another one. I forgo the cleaning option the next day and was given a $5 coupon for breakfast bar, so I decided to go down to breakfast. I was then told the two vouchers could not be combined though on the back of the card, it says that it can be combined but just no purchase of alcohol. Didn't want to cause even issue. I talked to guest services and they said that they will remove it. I also discovered that I ordered Lox and bagel, and got an omelette. I should have confirmed and look at it before taking off, my fault, but at this point I was frustrated. Called guest services again, and they talked to the waitress at the bar and said I ordered omelette. Don't know how you can mix up Lox and bagel with omellete but okay. Said they will reverse the charge and the extra I paid. It is a same amount but it the principle of the thing. Good thing about this hotel is that guest services were very nice and always tried to resolve my issues. But there were too many problems for it to be a Marriot brand, and I love Marriot. Roaches. Bad blankets. Horrible service at bar. I should have went a cheaper route if that is what I was going to get. Never will come here again.

This hotel is newly renovated into suites, they are large especially the bathrooms. Everything was perfect, especially the comfortable beds and the spacious living space. Great coffee /tea and bathroom amenities. Everyone was friendly, a good breakfast bar and the food was pretty good. The only negative is the pool, small and easily overrun by children so little space to relax. I would go back.

I have been coming to the hotel for 23 years and have always enjoyed my stays. However, I don't think the new open foyer, bar and restaurant area works. I miss the intimacy of going to the bar and using the restaurant. People now just walk through those areas and out of the hotel, some with dogs and in large numbers, so there is no privacy left. The open area now resembles walking though an airport. The personal touch of hotel staff has also diminished and they now seem just to be doing their different jobs with very little customer engagement. This was always something that was a signature of the Sheraton Suites experience in Plantation. I would also recommend hiring professional bar staff who welcome customers and are keen to serve them, rather than make you feel as if you are inconveniencing them. On a cleanliness note, our room had a large dirty stain on the carpet which should either have been professionally cleaned or replaced before letting out to a customer. On the plus side, the external development has made some progress and a Mexican bar/restaurant named Tacocraft is a nice spot to visit in the afternoon or evening. It is situated only a few metres from the hotel. Although this provides some encouragement, progress on the development is slow and disappointingly our room overlooked a builder's wasteland.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel twice over the last few months to visit my parents who live in the area. The room is actually a small suite with a sitting room and desk and the bedroom. All the rooms are quite large. There are two sliding barn doors that close off the sitting area from the bedroom, as well as pocket doors on the bathroom. Everything was in tiptop shape and it was very quiet. They're far enough back from the road that there was no road noise and the rest of the complex contains offices and apartments (they're working on renting some stores but nothing was open yet). We did not eat the breakfast there. As noted in other reviews, the parking is $10/day. At least it's in a garage which I like, especially when it gets fiercely hot in summer. The path from the garage to the hotel is outside, though, which is a negative. We have another trip planned in March and we'll be staying here again.

Room Tip: On the side or back will be quietest. Facing busy University Ave might result in some road noise.

When we booked through Sheraton website they said the rate includes parking and breakfast. When we arrive they say that they aren’t included. Ugly room, not really clean. Never come again! I can’t believe Sheraton could be so bad!

Great location, close to the airports , staff very friendly. Rooms are very clean and modern, parking 10$ free breakfast is not really free. Room big enough to be very comfortable. I will do it again definitely.

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights in a king-bed suite. Check-in was seamless, my parcels had arrived and were presented on our arrival without having to ask for them. The suite was fresh and clean. Coming from Barbados for a medical test we were very anxious about people in Florida adhering to Covid-19 regulations and were very pleased to see good signage relating to protocols and that all staff and most guests were masked. We had most of our meals in the hotel and found the menu well-balanced but not a huge choice in selections. We found all staff most helpful and efficient front front desk to room attendants and servers. Amber at Reception was particularly helpful especially in helping us manage the vagaries of the on-line computer programmes for travel. She is a gem!! The site is close to a partially completed commercial and high-rise development so without a car we relied on taxis, which were easily available.

Lobby is nice however the music is loud all of the time. Maybe so you can’t work in there. Parking isn’t free. Suite bedroom and bathroom has weird pantry like sliding doors that get stuck inside walls. You almost don’t even know your bathroom has a door. Bed bugs in the room. First crib mattress received was not encased. Not sure their regular mattresses are properly encased. Located in a great area however many other options like the Hyatt Place free parking and free breakfast. I wouldn’t stay at the Sheraton again.
