Hotel's Favourite
I went down for a short visit to see family. The rooms are good size and all have ocean view. The staff are very polite and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. There's a small kitchenette in the room, so I was able to prepare my own meals to save a bit of money (which I prefer). It's clean, quiet and feels safe. Stores and shopping are all a short drive away.

the beach tower by the sea hotel was undergoing renovations. For our inconvenience We were upgraded to this hotel. But it was also undergoing renovations. (The parking garage.) So parking was miserable. We ended up having to walk a distance if you get done with your day anytime after 4 you won’t get to park close.
Breakfast was ok. You will be paying $10 a day for it, wether you use it or not. 🥯 cereal yogurt ☕️ muffins oatmeal from vending machine juices 🍎 🍌.
Nice size rooms. Beds look comfy and clean. We did still disinfect everything but most of the room looked inviting and clean. The bathroom was a different story. All though it probably was clean, the walls are falling apart. It looks like they just keep painting over it hoping the paint will keep it together. So I’d doesn’t look very clean.
All rooms have a view of the ocean.
It was chilly this time of year. Beginning of March 2020. Mid to upper 60’s.
We were on the 11th floor but traffic sounded like we were on the first floor with our doors wide open.
Kitchenette was nice to have. Bring paper towels salt and pepper.
There is a soap dispenser by the sink and 1 dispenser in the shower. A liquid soap that supposed to be good for hair, face, & body. 🙄 But no other extras like lotion.
(We brought ziplock bags for the remote controls)

I stayed at the Radisson in October 2021. It was the perfect hotel for my vacation. The hotel is clean and recently updated. The rooms are large and spacious and have balconies overlooking the gulf. We were allowed to check in early and the front desk clerk even remembered my name later on.
One of the main reasons we chose the Radisson was its reasonable price for its location. It is located right on the beach which makes it super convenient to run up to your room during those short Florida rain showers. It is also only 1 mile away from Pier Park which has a lot of great shops and restaurants. We enjoyed eating and drinking at Sharky's and Hang Five which are a short 1/4 mile walk away. There is also a convenience store right across the street.
Some reviews mentioned the limited parking, which is true. It probably only is a problem during the busy summer but in October we did not have issues finding a parking spot. And with the hotel's location, you will not need your car that often.
I definitely would recommend staying here!

We have stayed at the Legacy for eight straight years but this was far and away our worst stay! The hotel has a great location between the piers and the balconies offer a beautiful view of the beach and gulf. That is where the good part ended for this stay!
We stayed four nights on the tenth floor. The sitting area/ kitchen room had been repainted on 3 walls but not the fourth. Someone had started painting the bathroom but did not paint within 2 inches of towel bars, sink, dispensers, etc.
Not once during our stay did we have any housekeeping service. No trash pickup. No new coffee packets, no toiletries, no clean towels, no sweeping, no cleaning, no change of bedding.
The hotel has ice machines on even numbered floors. Our machine on the 10th floor was out of order, as were the ice machines on the 8th and 6th floors, so that meant going to the 4th floor for ice. Of the 3 elevators, the elevator on the west side would not go down to the basement level to access the beach, but you could take it up from the beach.
We made the mistake of getting the meal package with the reservation which provided food vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. At our first breakfast the waitress argued vehemently with us that I was reading the voucher wrong about what we were allowed to get. The food was good but would not recommend the meal package to anyone unless you want to be told that you don't understand what you are reading!
With the exception of the young man that was working the front desk when we arrived, the remainder of the desk help seemed uninterested and certainly not welcoming.
Until this year we have always enjoyed our stay at the Legacy. With the exception of the balcony view and the nice beach there was absolutely nothing positive about the rest of our stay at the hotel.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. We will address your experience internally with the the hotel staff as well as Barefoot Hide-A-Way's staff. We apologize that there were issues with the Breakfast Package. Due to COVID-19, housekeeping only enters rooms when service is requested to limit human contact. We apologize if this was not communicated properly at check-in.

Where do i start...
(1) our room was not ready when we checked in (had to wait over 2.5 hours before we had a room)
(2) the room did not have enough towels for my family and although we tried multiple times to get towels, there was an issue the with hotel clothes dryer the day we checked in and we weren't able to get additional towels until our second day (only my daughter was able to shower that first day)
(3) the floor was filthy and it appeared that it hadn't been mopped after the room was renovated, we asked multiple times for someone to come and mop the floor but no one ever came to do it
(4) the phone in our room was not connected so we had to physically go down to the lobby to speak with hotel staff regarding our issues (we also tried calling the hotel from our cell phones but they either put us on hold before we could say anything or just didn't answer the phone at all)
(5) the staff was not at all polite or empathetic regarding the issues and almost seemed annoyed that we were even complaining about them... definitely did not care about our concerns and comfort
(6) of the three elevators at the hotel, only one was working consistently and the hotel staff and construction workers were usually taking up the space on them which required us to wait through multiple cycles until it was empty enough for us to get on together
(7) on one of the days, a male housekeeper let himself into our room without knocking while my daughter was changing
(8) when checking out, I asked for a final bill but was unable to receive it because the person couldn't find any reference to our stay.
All in all, it was an extremely disappointing stay and I'm very surprised as I really thought that Radisson had higher standards for their chain of hotels.

Ugh! Will never stay here again. Their amenities online indicated 'free toiletries', which I assumed were the normal hotel mini size soaps, shampoos, conditioner and lotion. NOpe! They provide a wall dispenser with industrial gas station type soap which smells awful! one over the bathroom sink, and another in the shower - 3 in 1 body wash and shampoo! omg, no thanks.
The mattress was at least 30 years old, stains. with a visible sag at first glance. worn out and very uncomfortable. sheets carelessly attached, only half way on corners.
Carpet soaked in one corner of living room, EW! Dirty, very old, broken vinyl baseboards in bathroom and throughout. Old, ugly, brown carpeting. Gross.
entire resort needs serious updates! Obviously doing business to cut corners and save money. Not for guest comfort! And overpriced for what you actually get. Paying for the beach and that's it.

My family has been coming to By The Sea Resorts since 2006. We have been to different hotels in their chain. Legacy has always been our favorite due to it's location. But this company needs to put money back into the hotels you already have instead of buying other ones. Like the Holiday Terrace you posted about a month ago.
We had the penthouse suite which has more room but like other post say, it is dated. We never use the pots, glasses etc when we come. Always bring our own. But the elevator issue was a royal pain. We were there seven days and one day out of that time had at least two running.
On the positive we had an air conditioner go out and they replaced the whole thing quickly. But with the Covid crap it made it a bit of a dance to get towels and stuff. But that's everywhere.
We were select club members before By The Sea Resorts discontinued that. Well if you are going to keep charging the same price for average service, then there is no real incentive to keep coming after fourteen years of loyalty.

Before checking out I found a Hershey's smear by the toilet that no one bothered to clean. Maybe if they hired American workers instead of underpaying temporary "guest workers" from Jamaica and pocketing the difference; the place would be cleaned properly.
Poop, feces, dirty.

From the airport it was about a 30 minute ride via a cab ($55 + tip) for 2 people. Check in was quick and easy. We got a room on the 8th floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was spacious with comfortable beds a safe, full refrigerator and balcony. Room service was very nice and delivered on the spot when we called for towels and toiletries. The pools were great! The one we used was with the lazy river, it was fun and relaxing. Pool towels were provided. There is a restaurant outside near the pools and a fine dining downstairs. Available within walking distance is a Mexican restaurant, an ice cream shop, subway and waffle shop and more! You can rent road vehicles across the street. Everything was nearby. If you want to go the Main Pier there is plenty of shopping and dining. A cab ride there is abou.t $20. Everything was great and would consider visiting there again. Loved the hotel!

This “resort” is subpar. The rooms are just ok. I hope you do not plan on bathing while here, we could never get clean towels or washcloths. When we would finally get some they would bring us two towels and one washcloth. There were 4 of us 😑. Also plan on getting lots of exercise taking the stairs. The 3 elevators stay out of order. Normally this would not be a huge problem but this time we were on the 12th floor. Definitely spend your well earned money elsewhere.
