So I decided I was staying at this resort, and it was an amazing experience! We, (me my husband and our 2 kids), are all DVC members. So, we stayed at the DVC building, Moorea. When we stayed there, we noticed the remote for the T.V was missing. So guest services was VERY quick to getting a new one! Our service was great and the people who worked there were very nice.

Another thing about the resort we loved was the volcano pool. This pool was one of the best that Disney has EVER created, as it had a zero depth entry, a cool water slide, and not to mention there was a HUGE mountain display in the middle of the pool. This was an amazing pool for several reasons. It was right next to captain cooks, so my kids could get some food while I chill next to the pool. This is also a great viewing spot for the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The Polynesian is right next to the Magic Kingdom, which can get you some GREAT views! Also, right next to captain cooks, there is a grass patch where kids can play on. I can’t tell you HOW many friends my son made while visiting this pool!

Time to talk about the theming. The Polynesian is has a sort of hawaiian theme, which is SUPER relaxing, and a great spot for romantic couples. There is a beach, and there are bungalows next to bay lake, which are SUPER expensive, but are very immersive. The rooms are nice, but they aren’t the BEST. Some improvements can be made to the quality of the rooms, too. I found a big tear in the wall on my visit. I guess I can see why people CAN like them, but personally, I’m not the best fan of it.

Time to talk about the food. Probably the best food you can find in a Disney World resort, too. It has restaurants like Ohana, Kona Cafe, Trader Sam’s Grotto, and so many more! The quality of the food couldn’t be better, and a big reason that the restaurants are so good are the theming. Restaurants especially like the Luau, brings the theming to a WHOLE new level. You see the typical hawaiian theme like Ohana, then you see them trying something new, like trader sam’s.

I recommend the Polynesian for familys, couples, and for people who are going single. I don’t understand the terrible reviews, and I can guarantee you one thing: this isn’t your typical Disney World hotel!

Wow! Your family was able to take advantage of all the wonderful things Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has to offer. I’ll let you in on a little secret: this is my absolute favorite Walt Disney World Resort. Like you said, it’s just so relaxing. When you step into the lobby, you immediately feel like you’re on a tropical island; the sounds, the sights and even the smells transport you to another place. The same can be said for the wonderful dining and Recreation! The perfect day includes a splashing good time at the Lava Pool followed by the excitement of Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, a delicious dinner at Kona Café and a picture-perfect view of the fireworks from the beach. I’m so sorry to hear your room decor was a little bit disappointing, but glad that you experienced outstanding service from our Cast Members and had an overall pleasant stay. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and we look forward to saying “aloha” to your family when we welcome you back for another magical stay! Darby Disney Social Reviews

We visited this resort for a morning to have breakfast at Ohana. it’s a character breakfast to meet Lilo, Stitch and Mickey. Food was just ok but a really nice experience to meet the characters. We loved walking around the resort- very beautiful.

Aloha! There simply isn’t a more magical way to start your day than by joining us along with Lilo, Stitch, and Mickey for a breakfast feast at ‘Ohana. Personally, my favorite part of visiting this Resort is savoring the exotic flavors at our award-winning restaurants. If you weren’t totally won over by breakfast at ‘Ohana, I sincerely hope you’ll join us there for dinner or for a meal at another one of our dining locations. The fresh island-inspired dishes truly make this Resort the quintessential Disney destination. Thank you for visiting our Resort! Adam Disney Social Reviews

I wanted to love the Polynesian, but I only liked it. The service and dining options (Ohana & Trader Sams are incredible) remain a highlight, but the rooms are outdated. For such a beautiful resort, I was expecting more than a brown and green color scheme, and the beds just weren't comfortable at all. The thing that annoyed me most was the A/C shuts off if the sensor doesn't sense any motion, so that made for a very stuffy night of sleeping. You can do better at other Disney resorts. Still will come back to visit Polynesian as a day guest until they sort the rooms out.

Aloha! Thanks for visiting us at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This Resort has so much to offer, from great dining to beautiful views, and it seems like you truly were able to take advantage of these benefits during your stay here. The convenience to Magic Kingdom is definitely one of my favorite aspects of staying at the Resort. I'm disheartened to hear that the magic you experienced around the Resort did not expand to your room. I hope you were able to speak with our Front Desk Cast Members and share your concerns with them about your experience, as they are always willing and happy to address any issues you may be having. Please be assured, though, that I am sharing your feedback with our Resort partners. I'm sorry to hear this wasn't your favorite Disney Resort hotel, although I firmly believe that there is a perfect Resort fit for everyone, and I'm sure you'll find your perfect fit soon. We look forward to welcoming you back! Rachel Disney Social Reviews

We stayed at the Polynesian for three nights in early November - it was one of my first Disney experiences as a kid and this trip was just as magical! It is a gorgeous hotel with a consistent South Pacific style/theme. The staff is amazingly helpful and they all go out of their way to make sure the guests are happy. The main pool is huge and each hotel house has its own pool as well as a hot tub. The main building was always busy and crowded but the hotel house where our room was located (Hawaii) was peaceful. The food there is delicious! We ate at Kona Cafe and Captain Cooks - both great meals. We also went to Trader Sams for a drink - what a fun bar! Very expensive drinks but the bartenders practically put on a show every night, so it was entertaining. Two of the best features of the hotel: the convenience of the monorail; and we had a most perfect view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom each night sitting on the hotels beach! The music is played at the hotel so it is as if you’re right at the Magic Kingdom watching the fireworks front and center. Finally, we stayed at a club level room and we had access to the concierge area - a great value! We had breakfast , including fresh fruit, cappuccino, latte, eggs, pastries, etc every morning; snacks all day; cocktail hour at 5:00, including wine, beer, a specialty drink and hot snacks; and dessert buffet at 8:00, complete with kahlua, baileys and milk! We could have scrapped the meal plan that we bought altogether and been perfectly satisfied with the food at the concierge level. In short, a great vacation!

Mahalo to you for submitting this fantastic review of your visit to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort! The Polynesian is perhaps my favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotel, so it brings me so much joy to hear you loved it, too. From watching Happily Ever After on the beach to enjoying a Dole Whip by the pool, if you want to relax, you're at the perfect place! Club Level at this Resort really is such a great value for families, for all of the reasons you mentioned, especially all of the delicious food and beverage options offered throughout the day. I'm glad you got to visit Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, too. It really is a full entertainment experience. It seems that even after all these years, the Polynesian was still the perfect fit for your family. Thanks for being a part of our 'ohana, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another tropical getaway soon! Kristina Disney Social Reviews

For our first trip to Disney, we chose the iconic Polynesian Village Resort as our home away from home and we couldn't have been happier. We had a 'Pool or Marina' view room that had a third floor balcony and faced the Lava Pool. This was my ideal location and I'm glad they were able to help us get the perfect room for our visit.

This is an older resort, and you can see it in some of the common areas where some things could use a bit of TLC, but our room was very nice and quite comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of room for storing everything we brought with us or purchased. Throughout our stay, housekeeping kept our room well made, despite our tendency towards mess while on vacation.

The pools were nice, although the Lava Pool did tend to feel a bit colder than the Quiet Pool. The pool areas are gorgeous and well maintained. The Grand Ceremonial House can sometimes feel a little congested just due to the number of people coming and going (especially at meal times around Ohana), but it also remains warm and welcoming.

Staff, however, is where this place really shines for us. This trip was post-surgery for me, and I developed breathing difficulties due to a cold late one night. The night manager was there even before the paramedics and stayed with me the entire time until we left for the hospital. They even comped our ride back from the hospital that morning. The front desk helped us get perscriptions through a delivery service and were helpful beyond measure time and again.

Though I will probably want to try other resorts on future visits, I think the Polynesian will always hold a special place in my heart for being my first Disney Resort, and a location that went out of their way to help me when I wasn't feeling well. Thank you.
Thank GrayKitten

There is truly no better setting for your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort than the famed Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and I’m overjoyed we could give you such a wonderful taste of the magic. Though our Resort has been welcoming Guests from all over the world since Walt Disney World’s opening day in 1971, the warm and inviting spirit of the South Seas is truly timeless. Something else that makes us unique and has stood the test of time for almost 50 years is our team of Cast Members delivering legendary Guest service. I’m so happy to hear they could offer you some relief and comfort during your recovery in addition to providing you with your perfect room! Around Walt Disney World, you’ll find so many outstanding Resorts worth exploring. Whether your next visit will be a trip to the islands with us or another magical adventure at a different Resort, we can’t wait to welcome you back for more fun. Thank you for sharing some time with us! Adam Disney Social Reviews
