Stay somewhere else. Room wasn’t ready on time. Front desk told me to go to concierge when I got a text my room was ready. I did and concierge completely ignored me while I was waiting. Bathroom had seas flies stuck to the ceiling. It’s not even a high ceiling so it shouldn’t be overlooked. Hook from back of bathroom door falling off. We had a balcony but never went outside because it smelled like a food stand underneath. I went back down to concierge and AGAIN I was ignored. It’s like they speak to one guest then they walk away. Also got charged extra parking on my invoice. I paid as a non guest because I had no key to get into self park. $38 for self park a day ( all of actual Disney resorts dropped their parking fee but since dolphins isn’t technically Disney they are STILL charging ) I paid when I drove out but they STILL charged me. I had to wait and speak to valet for it. Scam. No one was really helpful Except the women in housekeeping when I walked past them. But that’s it. Stay somewhere else. This place is a theee star AT BEST…
We had a lovely stay a the Dolphin. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was fine with comfortable beds. Convenient to be able to walk or take a boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. For Magic Kingdom would suggest walking to yacht club and taking Disney bus there and after park taking the bus to either Boardwalk or Beach and Yacht Club and walking to the Dolphin. I will say that if your reservation. Is linked to the My Disney Experience App, it may become unlinked and you would have to go the Disney website to link it again. This happened after we checked in as well as any time we edited the reservation. After speaking with a Dolphin, it seems like a glitch on Disney's end and not the hotels. The hotel gives water bottles every day and those came in handy when we went to the parks where we could refill them a few times. Would definitely stay again. …
I stayed at the Dolphin Hotel 27 - 30 January 2023. The entrance was nice, but has a weird smell, dusty attic mixed with the resort fragrance smell. Once you get passed that the lobby was a show-stopper. Very beautiful! The mythological dolphin fountain and crystals hung from the ceiling were beautiful! The common areas were very nice and clean. Check-in was quick and easy. The water taxi to Beach & Yacht Club, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT & Boardwalk Resort was really nice. There is also a bus but I am not sure if you can get back to the Swan & Dolphin. We took a bus to Disney Springs, but were unable to get back to the hotel from Disney Springs. We had to get on a bus to Boardwalk and walk back. It's nice there are stores and restaurants but, everything was very expensive. $7 for a normal iced coffee. We get a special coffee at EPCOT for less. The hallway carpets on multiple floors are either dirty or very worn out. In some places, it's starting to get lumpy in the walkways making it hard to roll the suitcases down the hallways. The bathrooms are also terribly small, you can't open the door with the bathmat down and it doesn't open all the way because of the towel bar. There is no fan in the bathroom so the entire room gets very saturated with steam when you shower. We ended up putting a towel down in front of the sink for drying off. We ended up having to switch rooms three times. When we got to our first room (4180 West), there was a man on scaffolding looking right into our window. The balcony railings were cut off the balcony and sitting in a pile on the balcony. There was a letter on the dresser apologizing for the construction and if we want privacy during the hours of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM we should "close our curtains" and they were doing construction so it would be loud. The man on the scaffolding eventually loaded up the pile of balcony railings leaving our balcony COMPLETELY open and exposed on the 4th floor. LIABILITY!!!!! Our outdoor balcony furniture was also stacked in the corner of our room. I have no idea why they would even book these rooms, they should be offline. This room also had some issue with the AC, it was very humid and smelled badly like mildew. I called the lobby and asked to switch rooms. I asked for another balcony room, but they said I didn't pay for that so I couldn't get one. So, because the balcony wasn't functional, that's why they put me in that room?? Okay? They switched us to 3196 West and the smell of mildew and humidity immediately hit me in the face. We turned down the AC (to make it colder) and it didn't help. The more the AC ran, the worse it smelled. Our tissues and toilet paper were damp and our clothing felt damp when we were in the room. I asked for a dehumidifier and air purifier, but the hotel said they didn't have any. By the end of night two, 9pm I couldn't handle the room anymore. I was starting to feel sick and switched rooms again. 10pm Sunday night we got to 11049 East and this room finally did not smell and wasn't full of humidity. Stayed the last night of our trip and checked out Monday. Employees said people were having to move around all day because of the mildew smell complaints so it is a known issue that the hotel needs to correct. I asked if they would give any money back and they said they could only refund the resort fee bc my room rate was a contracted group rate. The advertised rate of $219 a night turned out to be $106 more a night after $14.24 room tax, $13.14 tourism tax, $40 Resort Service Package, $2.60 Resort Service Package tax, $2.40 Resort Tax- Resort Service Package (pretty sure that's the same line item charge as the $2.60), $32 self parking, and $2.08 sales tax. So, a three night stay was $976.38. They charged me $100 auth fee and then $854.10 as well on the second night. They did refund me $135.00 for my inconveniences. My bill should have been $841.38 so we will see if it adjusts in the next coming days. I am horribly sick now after staying there. Could be something I caught along the way, but I don't think breathing in mildew for days helped either. If you get a room that smells like mildew, keep switching until you get one that doesn't. …
I liked this hotel. We had a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed. The choice of restaurants on site was nice. Only negatives were we did not have our room serviced one day, and valet parking took a long time every time we retrieved our car.
Location/Transport The Dolphin Hotel was an ideal location for visiting the Disney Word parks: - Epcot (15-20 mins walk/boat ride - every 15mins) - Hollywood Studios (20 mins walk/boat ride - every 15mins) - Magic Kingdom (bus to Ticket & Transportation centre every 15 mins from hotel) - Animal Kingdom (bus - every 15mins) In addition to the above, we also took advantage of buses to/from the parks to/from the neighbouring Disney hotels (Boardwalk/Yacht club). Food and Drink The hotel provided 2 bottles of water per day, which was really convenient. A fridge was available in the room for water, milk etc. The shop at the hotel sold provisions, but we used the General Store on the Boardwalk for milk (for tea/cereals). A number of restaurants on site, but we only used the Fountain restaurant, which was relatively good value. The Boardwalk deli is close by, and we used this to share a bagel/sandwich between us. Facilities/Mini-Golf The pool facilities and beach chairs are shared with the Swan hotel. Nice and relaxing. Also, across the road by the Swan Reserve is the Miniature Golf, which is free for Disney park ticket holders. Great fun! There is also a small arcade but we didn't use this. Housekeeping Generally good, but one day they arrived at 10:30pm when we were in bed! I've never known anything like it! Noise/Sleep I have to knock a star off as there was constant loud noises outside our room for the duration of our stay as cranes were used to refurbish balconies. We had treated ourselves to a balcony to relax after busy mornings, but we couldn't take advantage of this. Very disappointing. We were even left waiting on arrival for our room as they wanted to make sure we had the quietest room available! However generally quiet at night and we slept well. Room The room had two small 'double' beds and only 1 bedside table between them, which was inconvenient. The safe was big enough for documents and small items only. The small fridge was useful. …
Everything about this place was perfect and over the top. Not surprising for Disney. The detail of every little thing was mind blowing. I came for a conference and we extended for a family vacation. Just on site there is so much for kids to do. You're SO close to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Beautiful views. Unreal pool
The negative reviews in reading are truly just entitled people. The hotel is great. This is the 3rd time we come and stay a week to do all the Disney parks and Universal. Convenient centrally located with 2 parks, EPCOT and Hollywood. Walking our even the boat taxi. Disney Boardwalk around the corner over the bridge. If you're looking for some convenience with good restaurants and Fuel. Love the little store. The smell of the lobby as you enter is and will be memorable. If you want to get that scent, buy Lakeside Morning from bath and body works. I will see Dolphin again next year.
So many issues that I don't know where to begin. I have been an elite member for 22 years - Titanium the last 5 years and have stayed at Swan/Dolphin many times. I reserved (3) rooms for myself and my family for the week -Jan 2023. I had 5 suite upgrade elite coupons so I was expecting some kind of upgrade for one of the rooms. I called ahead a few times to ask if the rooms could be connected or close to each other and was told they would try their hardest. None of this happened. My suite upgrades were a loss as they took them. A week before Christmas - I hurt my foot and was confined to an electric scooter when I arrived. I called ahead a few times to the front desk and was told it was not going to be a problem to get a larger room and close to the elevator and accessible shower. I ended up with quite the opposite ! First of all - Check in was a nightmare. I had checked in online so not sure why my key wasn't there and ready for me. The line for elite members is a joke as all the agents just kept calling people up from the regular line. NO designated elite agent. I was told at check in that they upgraded me to a balcony room. I explained, that because of the scooter, there was no need for a balcony that I could not get on. I preferred a larger room so that I could fit myself & my 2 older children in WITH a scooter. I was also supposed to have a rollaway bed in there. VERY long fight for over an hour to figure out the rooms. The manager was very unaccommodating and wouldn't come out from the back to speak to me at first until I refused to leave. I ended up having to purchase a 4th room, for a few nights, to accommodate myself so that I would be able to get into the room with the scooter. In all fairness the room was discounted but it was still an extra expense. Our rooms ended up being in the east wing on the 2nd floor and almost the farthest from the elevator. The other rooms were not connected or close so it was difficult to keep asking one of the kids to come to my room to help. If anyone is familiar with the Dolphin you know that you take the boat to Epcot & Hollywood studios. My family could walk out a door and get to the boat easily - but if you are in a scooter or have a stroller - it is a much longer walk. I had to take the EAST elevators to the LOBBY then take the CENTRAL elevators to FLOOR 1 then go PAST all the restaurants, the Dolphin pool, the swan pool and the beach and to the swan hotel to get to the boat. There was NOT an elevator in the east wing to allow me to get there directly. I did this all week by myself as I didn't want to make everyone do the long minute walk. The manager told the front desk agent to put us in a "CO... room" I didn't really understand then but I am pretty sure it meant -- the construction rooms. Three of the four rooms we had faced the courtyard where all the construction was going on. Ha- I did find the hotel's note about the construction when I was checking OUT. It was IN one of the drawers - not on the counter. Not everyone uses the drawers. I certainly didn't. I opened the drawer only to make sure no one left anything. And BTW - the construction went on way past the time they had indicated. One of my kids were sick and wanted to sleep before dinner and couldn't because of the construction going on after 5 pm. Halfway through my stay, I moved to another room due to my sister joining us. I explained all this to the manager. My next room was so small and completely in the corner - Room 2002. Again - I had a scooter. It would not fit into the room so I had to leave it outside the door and hop into the room on one foot as well as hop all over the room. I had to hope no one stole it or that there was a fire as it was blocking our door. The bathroom --- was so small that I could barely close the door when I went in and it was an absolute nightmare having to step into a tub instead of a roll in shower that I requested. I went to the front desk to ask for a new room and was told that this is all they had. I thank god my "handicap" was only temporary. I feel for those who it is not - I would never recommend they stay here as the hotel could not provide an environment for them as evident of where they put me. I was shocked at the way the Dolphin has gone downhill. The rooms were dirty and small. Keep in mind the beds are DOUBLES not Queen beds. The pool area was disgusting. Garbage was overflowing at all the garbage cans. The cabanas looked old and worn out and dirty. It took 1 1/2 hours to get chicken fingers at the pool at 3:30 in the afternoon (not at lunch time). Our order did not come all together & it was cold when we received it. FUEL was always busy and had long lines despite their outrageous prices. There was a register if you were only buying a drink but it was always closed. I asked the Manager if they could open it and he said no. Giving a titanium member a coupon for $10 to get breakfast only allowed them a drink and a muffin. The line was crazy so we only ate there once. We tried the restaurant and it was also a long wait so 2 of us ate there once. No lounge on this property. I felt like I was staying at a budget hotel at best and that I was put in the basement in the worse rooms in the hotel. Not sure what the $40 resort fee was for. Beware - check your hotel bill every day. I had extra people charges on every one of my rooms even though I had (2) adults / room or (2) adults and (1) child. They did reverse them on paper but I was still charged for them on my credit card. I am still trying to work it out with accounting. Take care of all problems while you are onsite as once you leave --- it is nearly impossible to get anyone and if you do get a number - it is hard to get them to call you back. I have tried and the only way to reach accounting is to email them and they don't respond. Not to be completely negative - I will say that the front desk agents were very polite however they are not empowered to do a thing. They kept saying "I have to ask my manager" (who was hiding in the back) and the answer was always no when they came back. I witnessed it with others checking in. The bar area is stunning and the service was completely opposite from the rest of the hotel staff. They were attentive and pleasant. I stayed at Swan last year and we had an excellent time. I went during food and wine fest / Columbus day week when it was very busy. They didn't have a suite for me so they gave me (2) regular rooms that were connected without me asking. I felt like they recognize that I was a titanium member and were very accommodating. We were given coupons to use in their quick restaurant and were able to chose a drink / bakery item an a yogurt or fruit each day. They were very flexible. I have no problem paying 5 star rates if the hotel & service is a 5 star hotel. It was disappointing and frustrating the entire week. And the worst part ... no one cares to try to correct it. I have sent so many friends / family members to Swan and Dolphin over the years. I will not be recommending them anymore. It is unfortunate as the location is ideal being able to walk or take the boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I love that the Boardwalk is next store which where we ate most of our meals.…
My family are pretty serious Disney enthusiasts and we have ALWAYS stayed in the parks for our trips until this one. As Disney has unwound some of the perks of staying in their hotels (magic bands, free parking, magical express, etc.) we decided to finally try the Dolphin. We are so glad we did. We stayed there for three nights just before Christmas (checking out on Christmas Eve). We loved it. The rooms were large with great storage and comfortable beds. No noise from hallways or other rooms. Common areas were beautifully decorated for the holidays. Onsite dining options were excellent. We had dinner at Il Mulino our first night and enjoyed the food but even more enjoyed the service. Got breakfast every morning at Fuel and can't say enough about it. They open super early. I never waiting in line more than a few minutes (as compared to the utter chaos at Beach Club marketplace in the mornings) and the food offerings were varied include Mickey waffles (a must have for my adult kids) and healthy options like chia pudding. Access to the parks was equivalent to Beach Club/Boardwalk. Easy walk to either EPCOT or Hollywood studios or take the water taxi. Bus to AK and MK. The biggest advantage was that our rooms were less than 1/3 the cost of the Beach Club for the same nights. We have stayed at Beach Club many times and love it, but there is absolutely no way to justify that price difference. We will definitely return to the Dolphin anytime we are back at Disney.…
We went on a family vacation with our grandsons. We spent 3 days at the Disney parks. Certainly not inexpensive. It is so nice to have the transportation running and was very easy to figure out. We spent very little time at the hotel- if we were staying longer, we would have taken advantage of the amenities. Incredibly well kept in the common areas and our rooms were clean and well appointed. Employees were very nice and accommodating.
