Coffee and water were not replaced for our second night. We had to call front desk and was told to wait until staff arrived. We were very unhappy with this situation as we had a long day and we’re very tired.
I’d like to shout out Jake, Andresz and Gerard at the front desk for being absolutely professional and accommodating. This is my second time here in four months and they have been excellent. Kudos for hiring a great set of folks!
My wife and I checked in here for the Disney World marathon. There were no coffee cups in the room (or hand soap) the next morning when we ran the race we were told that we would have to come down to the front desk as no one could run up two disposable cups for us, which we did, when we got there we were told that housekeeping has all of the cups locked up (I guess so precious) and we could not have access to any cups even though there is a Starbucks in the lobby and looking just passed their “four diamond award” in the lobby past the check in desk you can clearly see their coffee machine and disposable cups next to it. My wife and I were not rude it was just pure apathy. Hotels a little outdated room wise and small, lobby was adequate .
Overall my experience here has been pretty good so far. However, I have two grumbles. My room itself was clean but the windows are filthy with green mould on the outslde, and quite a bit of litter on the roof tiles just below the window. My second grumble is about the huge amount of single use plastic in the room . All the cups are plastic and sealed in a plastic bag. Whatever happened to real glasses and ceramic mugs? I know that the plastic bag is intended to emphasize that they are "clean" but these days there are more important environmental considerations. And room service delivered a pizza on a plastic plate with plastic cutlery sealed in a plastic bag. Again what happened to real plates with real cutlery? Eating a pizza with plastic cutlery is impossible.
Less expensive than Disney resorts, clean, and comfortable but parking and breakfast buffet were pricey. The lobby coffee shop breakfast is very good and a better value than the buffet. The buffet was tasty but $27 each. The hotel is close to all Disney parks and beds were very comfy. The room had great quiet a/c, NOT a noisy window a/c unit. We did not try out the pool or gym during our stay. Staff was very courteous.
The hot tub located next to the Back Bay Pool Bar and Grill was extremely over chlorinated causing bad skin irritation for the next few days even after several rinses and showers...not to mention, the strong chlorine smell that stays with even after showering and bathing. Also, four out of the six people in our party had their bathing suits ruined. Luckily no one was seriously injured and a few ruined bathing suits aren't a big deal, but that level of chlorine exposure can be dangerous. Hopefully you get it corrected ASAP!
Stayed Christmas weekend…had a beautiful view from our room on the 11th floor with a balcony…was able to watch the Disney fireworks which was great. Self parking 30+/night. Breakfast was $26+/pp.but good.
Nelson the bus driver is the best bus driver we have ever met! He had such a positive attitude and made us smile everyday. We are so grateful and would love to come back to this hotel because of him!
Nelson our bus driver made our trip! He’s so upbeat, friendly and fun to be with. He creates an enjoyable and lively environment. He gave us tons of tips about the parks and gave us free water bottles. He was a great start to our day!
What can I say this place it was just wonderful. Everything is prompt and the hotel is spotless clean. The shuttle bus to the Disney theme theme parks was STUPENDOUS. if you are needing a lift there, Nelson is the best hands down. He is very informative once you reach the parks and on his pickup times. He even tells you how to catch monorails and transportation across the parks and how Ubers and lifts run. He even shares cool stuff to see when you are in the park. He really made our stay just that more grand. Mr. Nelson makes this hotel shine bright in Orlando thanks again Mr. Nelson for making our anniversary even better.
