We stayed in a two bedroom villa. It was beautiful with plenty of room for four adults. The beds were very comfortable, we enjoyed the full kitchen, and loved having a washer and dryer. I will say the dishwasher was broken so it worked but not well. We found the cast members to be very helpful and accommodating. We had a mix up with bands and credit cards and they helped us fix it right away. The only negative for the property is that it is under construction, so during the day it’s loud. We knew this going in, so we were okay with it.
Restoration to grandeur continues. We stayed for 3 night in the “Boca Chica” outer building, with a lagoon view. The building was JUST completely updated. The renovated rooms are gorgeous. The hotel is spotless and a timeless classic and the renovations continue. The lobby during the Christmas season is spectacular. The walk to the quick service food location? Gasparillo, can be a bit far. I wish there was another location more central to all of the outer buildings. The service was spectacular. Elise from Citricos went above and beyond. She was amazing. Citricos has been renovated as well. I loved it. The cozy chairs, the wide and spacious marble tables. Superb.
Beautiful space and room. But extremely expensive so one would expect that and greasy service too. Club level Concierge was horrible. When we asked for help with Genie they actually made thing worse. Used to be a great hotel, but customer service was bad all around.
After our visit in August we thought we would try it again. This stay was better as we were more familiar with the property and spend 3 days relaxing at the pool and enjoying the other activities. Our son especially loved the games by the pool and all the rubber ducks that were given out as prizes. We are back again in a few weeks.
Having stayed in over 10 Disney hotels we decided to splurge and stay 1 week at the Grand Floridian. I have no words to say how over the top happy we were to have stayed here. From the moment we arrived the quality of service and attention to us was amazing!!! I will never stay anywhere else again
Hotel room was great, but I picked up food poisoning at the restaurant. When I pointed out that my salmon was undercooked (i had eaten several bites before noticing), the staff was kind enough to cook it properly and comp us a dessert. Not worth the 4 hours in the bathroom later that night.
Disney Grand Floridian We stayed for two nights in early January and had a wonderful stay. We caught the last day of the Christmas tree and massive gingerbread house in the lobby which was beautifully decorated and got some great photos by the house mouse photographers. Pro tip: They will always take a photo with your phone of your group if you ask and they always get the best shots. We stayed in Sago Cay (outer building) which was right next to Gasparilla Island Grill (not 24 hours anymore, so check hours). Our room had a view of the monorail over the lagoon from our balcony which was a nice bonus. We were also situated next to the marina where we had a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks for the kids and bonus: adults could watch sitting down. We didn’t have a reservation for dinner but kept on checking the app for cancellations and managed to snag a reservation at Grand Floridan cafe at prime time. The food and staff were wonderful. Beach pool was super fun for kids with a 181 foot slide and kids’ pool games run by Disney staff. There’s also a splash pad for littles and a second pool. We recommend taking the monorail and then the boat to/from Magic Kingdom. Both were super fun!…
Whether or not one stays at the hotel, a visit here (especially at Xmas) is a must-do. The Xmas tree and gingerbread house in the wonderous lobby are magnificent. The scattered chocolate sculptures are a true Disney joy, and the overall Victorian elegance is a wonderful holiday backdrop. We visited here several times during our Orlando stay, beginning each day with brunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We then strolled the resort grounds and/or rented a pontoon (twice) to explore the lakes. Afterwards, we would spend several hours listening to the pianist playing in the lobby; while watching the engrossing spectacle of children (and adults) experiencing the Xmas grandeur for the first time. A Micky premium ice-cream bar was always a nice addendum to the afternoon/evening proceedings. Visiting the Grand Floridian has become a holiday tradition we hope to enjoy for a few more years to come. …
My wife, stepdaughter and I came here in mid December for a modeling competition and photo shoot. The Grand Floridian is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in — and I’ve stayed in a lot. They just renovated the rooms and they are really well done. The amenities are great, the grounds are beautiful and the Disney parks are just a monorail or bus ride away. The staff is Disney friendly. I was worried because of some of the recent reviews but I heard no construction from my room. The view was fantastic from our balcony that overlooked the lake. It’s expensive but if you want to relax and get away from Disney crowds, it’s worth it.
This is my fourth time at WDW Resort over the past 9 years. We were very excited to come for the 50th anniversary, and Disney certainly didn't disappoint. We had a wonderful stay at Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club. I wanted to mention a few notable cast members: 1. Cosmo (General Manager), sent us two evening of amenities, with lovely surprises, snacks, and the most beautiful greeting cards. It was so thoughtful coming from a GM, with how busy he is! 2. Shannon (Guest Experience Leader) took care of everything to make our stay magical. A beautiful room (4021), with a lovely theme park view was amazing. She even set-up a fireworks cruise for us. I can go on and on about how great she is, and I really hope Shannon can get rewarded for being such a fantastic cast member. Shannon epitomizes Disney hospitality. 3. Isaia (Guest Experience) was very genuine, kind, and opened up about his family and love of Hawaii “ohana.” He is such a great cast member with his radiating positivity and warmth. He even helped set up a fireworks cruise for us. It was amazing! 4. Cindy, Ryne, & Cecilia (Royal Palm Club) were so welcoming, open, and transparent with us. They remembered us from previous trips, and we felt like were being welcomed back in their home. These three really make the Club a very special place. 5. Angelica (Recreation) drove our Fireworks cruise and was a great guide who knew tons about Disney history. We had an amazing time. 6. We did find Colin (Club Lounge) to be very rude in all instances we engaged with him. We understand he has a dry humor, but it didn’t go over well with us. For example, I was at the Front Desk one evening as Royal Palm Concierge had gone for the night. Colin walked up to me and said “You’re the bad penny that keeps turning up.” The front desk agent was appalled. I understand he likely meant this as a joke, but I don’t like to be spoken to after paying 1.5k/night for our room. Very inappropriate of Colin in all respects. We brought up the situation to Shannon who listened to us to resolve the situation. Overall, it was a true first class stay, and we are already planning our next trip December 2023. Thank you to everyone!…
