We had 2 rooms. The showers were nicely tiled. the sheets were pilled, the pillowcase had a stain, one of the mattresses was so used the person had to sleep in the middle to keep from falling off of an edge. The name on the hotel sign is Nokomis Inn. The only clue that we had found the My Saratoga Getaway was the 119 on the mailbox. We were told that sign is grandfathered and can’t be changed. My socks were filthy after a one night stay. The rooms looked nothing like on their website!
I arrived at the motel room on Feb 17. It smelled thickly of cigarette smoke though it was allegedly a non smoking room. The blinds on the window were broken and a dirty torn sheet was thrown over a rod above the window. The toilet smelled of urine, the bed covers and I;;ow cases were stained, and there was dirt that looked like dried putty on the side table and on the floor along the edge of the baseboard, and tiles. The bathroom sink became quickly clogged and wouldn’t drain. I tried to get hold of the manager after arriving at the room and seeing the state but was told that she was away overnight and a neighbor to the property was helping out. I tracked this woman helper down, she offered me some “clean” sheets which turned out to be covered in brown stains and were even more disgusting and not usable. She then came to the room with bleach and gloves and attempted unsuccessfully to get rid of the urine smell. She also tried to fix the broken blinds eventually giving up when the rod fell off the wall.. Two doors down the man in that room had passed out on his bed at dusk, the TV blaring, his bedroom door wide open, and a chainsaw and long knife on the table outside his room. Needless to say I barely slept that night. I felt both unsafe and unclean in the room. In the morning I packed my car to leave, after trying to hunt down the manager who still had not returned. I ran in to a couple 3 doors down who said they were also disgusted by their room, which had a blocked toilet and other problems and they felt it overpriced for the condition. They were told when they complained to Ann they would get a refund. I told the neighbor helper I was leaving and why and she said she would pass that on to the manager. The next day I got hold of Ann, who does the bookings on the phone, explained the situation, asked for a refund, she dismissed my request, and hung the phone up on me.…
We checked in and the property manager was out on property. I called the number and and was told she was away from property. Have us room number and code to get in. Said she would be back in 1.5 hrs to give us towels as there were none in our room. This was 5 pm. By 8pm we still had no towels or WiFi code. No call or show from Pat, who I’d talked to earlier. The room was dirty. The bedsheets and covers were quite stained. We were so unhappy with everything, we left and checked out at 10pm. I do not recommend this place.
My husband & I are relocating from Missouri & have taken a "Thelma & Louise" tour of the Gulf Coast only to end up not Evel Knieveling off a cliff(tho with all that Covids done sumtimes it was a thought! LOL-just jokin'!) BUT finding a beautiful gem of an Inn to stay for awhile as we regroup & look for our FOREVER HOME in Paradise! The Nokomis Inn is as advertised, looks BETTER than the pix & Pam the manager is awesome! You can't beat it for the location, quaintness & price! Early retirement is gonna look good on us & this is the perfect place to start! Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!
This place was perfect for my extended stay! It had everything that I needed. The pool, hammocks & tiki hut were an added bonus. Pam was a great help with anything I needed and answered all my questions about the area. I would absolutely stay there again!
My family and I stayed there a few weekends ago for a weekend getaway! We sure made the right choice. There was a gas station right down the road you could walk to for a hot or cold meal, snacks and drinks! It was a very quaint, tropical and relaxing place to stay. Our room was just what we needed. Two beds with a refrigerator, microwave, and flat screen. The shower was honestly my favorite part of the room! The pool was so wonderful! Palm trees and hammocks all around, with a sweet little tiki hut to escape the sun for a bit. The lady who ran the place was doing everything and a smile never left her face. She was very accommodating and met all our needs. We will definitely be telling all our friends and family. About this hidden gem. We will be back for another getaway!!!
We stayed here before our rental was ready after driving to Florida from the North. Our room was immaculate. There was a microwave and refrigerator and a separate bathroom. We enjoyed sitting with other guests in the sandy common area.
This place is average in all ways. The room was the bare minimum and needs a remodel desperately. The staff is nice but made a huge mistake and upon check in I was not happy to say the least. The pool was heated was the highlight of my stay.
Real nice quaint boutique type hotel went March 2017. Very clean and nice staff.....was considering going back in Spring 2019 but closed not able to contact???? Close to go into Sarasota and down to Casey Key ….
We arrived after business hours but a man on the premises helped me make a call to the owner. We were then able to book a room immediately. They were very helpful. The place is directly on highway 41, a busy street, but it’s tucked away behind a lovely palm garden. The pool area, warm and opened 24/7, is fenced in and has hammocks, tables, Adirondack chairs and a couple of bbqs for quests use. The guests were quiet when we were there. Very close to Nokomis Beach
