We contacted the office in January of 2022 about making reservations for January of 2023. The person answering the phone said she wasn’t taking reservations until May 1. I called on April 30 to see about making reservations since May 1 is on a Sunday this year. The person answering the phone responded they were already full. How is that possible if they don’t take reservations until May 1? I shared with the person answering the phone I was told they didn’t take reservations until May 1 and she had nothing to say. I’m not sure when they actually take reservations for the following year but I do know I’ve been lied to. It’s unfortunate. If they don’t have availability just be honest and quit misleading folks by telling them to call back on May 1.
My husband and I spent a week camping at the New Smyrna Beach Campground in August. There are 2 bathhouses, which we always found clean and with plenty of hot water. Wi-fi was free and we had a strong signal. The beach is about 5 miles away. The Kennedy Space Center is about 45 miles south of the campground, accessible via Rt. 1, with minimal traffic, compared to I 95. The campground was a nice quiet place to come home to at night after visiting the many attractions nearby. There is a pool, but we did not use it. Most of the campers there are older adults, lots of the campers are long-term campers. A good campground for older adults who enjoy the quiet, not a lot of activities for children to do.
We chose this park to be near the beach. Huge mistake. Our site was broken concrete and haphazard patio blocks. We asked for a handicap accessible cement pad for our son. All pull through sites were muddy. You could see where they had standing water. Was informed that park which is overly occupied with long-term unkept Rvs is a haven for stray cats. We should also be careful of the coyotes at night. We left after 1 night.
Just returned from there after spending 2 nights there. It is a very nice place & yes 50% off for military. The family & I are very impressed. Close to the beaches & stores. The grounds are immaculate & well kept. Some full time residents there, but they keep their homes very nice & it still feels like a campground. The pool is so warm & clean & we spent a lot of time at the pool. Nice little fitness center & bathrooms are a little old, but all in good working order & still very clean! We are definitely coming back here & can't wait. Staff is very nice, great attitude & great sense of humor.
Not recommended if you have kids, even older kids. It was very evident that this campground caters to the elderly/empty nesters. Kids under 14 are not allowed to leave your campsite without an adult. We were camped right by the front of the park and my 11 year old son was more than capable of walking across the road to the bathroom, but it wasn’t allowed. He wasn’t even allowed to go to the pool with my 16 year old. I used the fitness room which apparently is for people 21 and older. Even though I was in there working out, my 16 year old was not allowed to be with me. She wasn’t even using any equipment, simply just sitting there talking to me and They literally came in and said she had to leave. There are no change machines for the washer and dryer and the camp office closes at 4:30pm. This also means the fitness room closes at 4:30pm. Again, because they cater the older adults who probably aren’t doing much after 4:30 anyway. Nothing was super attractive about the entire campground. Kind of run down. And if it rains, almost every site floods. Most have cement patio pads, but we were put on one of the only sites without one. They knew we were coming with kids so..... Basically we were there for 7 days and ended up just using it as a place to park our camper and come back to sleep. Spent most of our days at the beach with hundreds of more pleasant people than the ones who work here. Price was decent, but not worth it. Next time we will spend the money to be somewhere else that our kids feel welcomed at.…
Called in February 2018 to make a reservation for 2 nights in December 2018. Was told it was too early to take a reservation and to call back on May 15. Called back on May 14 to make a reservation for only 2 nights in December and was told they were full for the winter. I said, "I was told to call back on May 15 for a reservation". Lady on the phone said: "We're full, we take reservations on May 1". Not happy about being lied too. We only need 2 nights, so we will look elsewhere and not recommend this place.
We went and visited this RV park to see if we would like to stay there on our next visit and we really liked it. The price is good, the pool is nice, the bathrooms are very clean and the sites look good. WE WILL STAY HERE!
Well maintained RV park with alla, mini ties in quaint an walkable New Smyrna bleach, a town bottom be missed on the way to southern FL. We'd styled 2 nights and wished we had allotted more time. The downtown harbor area is full of small shops and restaurants, but without the honky-Toni atmosphere. Similar to NE seaside towns. The beach is glorious. There is also a large section of beach for dogs and their families, as well. Generous park I g opportunities booth at the beaches and then downtown area. There's also a well maintained bike trail that starts right in the downtown area.
The In-Laws bought a winter home in NSB years ago and we have visited other CG’s in the area and weren’t impressed. I chose this one based on Google Earth. We need a large site as we are just over 70’ long. The sites are huge! There was more than enough room on our site for everything! They are also well maintained. We stayed here 8 days and the grass was cut twice in that time. Office staff is very helpful and will do anything they can to make your stay a pleasure. The laundry and baths are clean and easily accessible. We did not use the pool but it was clean. They have cabins and a few tent sites as well. Most of the park is pull through with some back-ins. We will definitely stay here again!
We stayed with friends in 2 separate spots next to each other . Wide & long spots .nice tress for some shade in the heat of the summer . All the FHU worked fine . Very quiet at nite . Slept with our windows open & heard no noise . Employees were very nice & stayed out of the way . Park easy easy to navigate with our 35 ft MH towing! . Will stay there again if I the area .
