The Edgewater Beach Hotel garners praise for its tastefully decorated rooms and convenient amenities like beach access and kitchenettes, though some guests consider the pricing steep. While the service is often lauded for its friendliness and efficiency, a few visitors have encountered inattentiveness. Cleanliness stands out as a strong point, with immaculate rooms and facilities. Guests enjoy the pleasant atmosphere, particularly the pool bar, although noise can sometimes be a drawback. Opinions on value are mixed, with some travelers feeling the cost is justified by the inclusive amenities.

The Edgewater Beach Hotel is a perfect place to visit in Naples, Florida. We have been a few times and have not visited for over 7 years and it’s still a great place to visit.

They have refurbed many of the rooms and you have many choices of room types. They have the main tower and the two side accommodations each side of the pool. We splashed out this time and went for a Beachfront Room and it was worth it. The rooms have everything you need and the suites have the lounge space and large kitchen area.

The amenities are great, they have a small gymn that wasn’t busy and a good restaurant. The best is the poolside bar where they serve nice cocktails and food.

The beach is great. You get two sunbeds included with the room but if you want an umbrella or cabana you have to pay extra. The umbrella was $35 and the cabana was $350 which I feel is a bit excessive.

The hotel, like many had become more and more expensive over the years and when we first visited about 20 years ago it seemed better value but now it’s a lot more expensive.

There is a lot of building in the area and my overall feeling now is that Naples has lost that lovely charm it had when we first went. It now feels like all the building and big houses have put this out of the reach of most people.

If you want a treat then The Edgewater won’t disappoint.

Everything about my stay was impeccable. Despite recently enduring a hurricane, the hotel was clean and staff was extremely accommodating. The hotel offered to let us change our reservation, but decided to go as planned and were amazed at how much had already been cleaned up, with people working diligently to get the hotel back to 100%.

The resort fee is well worth it with plentiful chairs and towels beachside, and Fiji water replenished daily as well as turn down service with chocolates. A variety of fresh baked cookies are offered daily from 2-4pm as well.

The restaurant was one of my favorites in Naples, with surf and turf options to please any palette, as well as healthy options and a great kids menu (my son loved the chicken fingers and fries). We ate by the pool as well as in the restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed the pool overlooking the ocean. The beach was nice as well, though there was more construction and cleanup due to the hurricane.

The rooms are beautifully appointed with coastal architecture and a tasteful beach theme. I really appreciated having a kitchenette as well.

Possibly the only complaint would be the pillows being flat and too squishy for my taste, but I have that complaint at most hotels.

We will be back for sure.

This resort is top class and is comparable to any five star hotel, expensive but value for money. Situated directly on a great beach with ample loungers and umbrellas for rent or free beds round the pool area, directly overlooking the beach. Free shuttle on demand for transportation to down town. Units are large modern well fitted, walk in showers and kitchen facilities, always sufficient profession staff on duty to satisfy you every need. Could not find fault or criticise any part of the stay.

I have contacted the hotel 3 times to complain (including during my stay) and unfortunately no one has replied to me. I was told a manager would call me the day I checked out (as they didn’t start until later that day) and nearly a week later, they still haven’t called me.

Firstly, the view from our room was stunning and we’ve loved the beach front location. We paid extra to get this view and it was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, that’s the only positive I have to share.

One night we were trying to get our 2 year old to sleep but there was loud music right outside our balcony and people cheering and chanting. Turns out the hotel had organised a wedding on the beach, making it feel like we were in a nightclub for the night. Even if we didn’t have a 2 year old, having a party outside your room is not what you expect when you pay a significant premium for a beachfront room. You expect to be able to sit on your balcony and hear the waves, not people constantly jeering and the beat of loud music. Our balcony was completely out of bounds for the whole evening (otherwise we’d be peering down onto the wedding guest party, who were right underneath!). I understand the hotel takes on event bookings however, I think it’s important to let guests know if there’s going to be disruption to their experience, then we can make an informed decision about where we stay. For instance, they could have offered to move us rooms for the night in advance of that day.

We also felt the overall service at the hotel was lacking. For example, I had to call up three times to get dishwasher powder to use the dishwasher. It was hours between each phone call. The third time, I finally got what I asked for. The service in the restaurant can only be described as grumpy and abrupt. There were several occasions when I called the front desk and no one picked up. There was no offer of towels at the pool or beach either (we got this on day one but today the service was non existent). The kitchen is lacking in equipment - one poor knife, no scissors and inadequate pans. Definitely designed for snacks rather than meals. There was loud jet washing going on at the pool which really impeded on our enjoyment of the area (they were actually jet washing paint off the building at one point).

I was told at checkout not to sign for any charges until a manager had called me and the issues had been resolved. No one has called and I’ve since been charged but no idea what for! Overall very poor.

Dear SophietC5102AP Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your room's stunning view and beachfront location, but we're deeply sorry that other aspects of your stay fell short of the standards we strive to provide. We appreciate your perspective regarding the wedding event on the beach, and we completely understand how disruptive it must have been, especially with a young child. When you expressed your concerns, we offered to move your room but respected your decision to stay in your original location. To clarify, the music was played at a low volume, and the event took place some distance away from your balcony. Additionally, our noise curfew is set for 10 PM, and all wedding festivities conclude by 9 PM, ensuring a peaceful night for everyone. We also regret the service lapses you encountered, particularly with the dishwasher powder, restaurant staff, and pool towels. This is not the level of service we aim to deliver, and we'll be investigating these issues to improve the guest experience moving forward. Thank you for your feedback regarding the kitchen equipment. We will review the kitchen items to ensure everything is available in the room. However, please note that scissors are not part of our kitchen equipment. According to our call log, the only item you reported missing was a wine opener. Also, our evening manager contacted you as soon as we learned about these concerns and compensated you for the inconvenience. I understand your concerns regarding the need for follow-up from our management. Unfortunately, we were unable to contact you immediately due to your international phone number. However, we did send you a detailed breakdown of your charges, which included the remaining balance and incidentals. If you have any further questions about your bill, please don't hesitate to reach out. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced and appreciate your constructive feedback. We hope you will consider giving us another chance to deliver the exceptional experience we are known for. Kind regards,

We stayed for a weekend June 7th to June 10th, the ocean view suite was very nice, furnishing and decoration outstanding. We bought a package that include beach umbrella and breakfast. We were charged for the umbrella for the first day use because they said that it was included after the second day of stay, we requested a late check out on Monday June 10th with a nearly empty hotel and the rude front desk lady told us the room was going to be occupied by the following guest and refuse tu give us an extended check up to 1 pm. I recommend not to take the package offered on their website, Breakfast is a la carte and they credit only 30 usd per person per day of your check is above that ammount you have to pay the difference

Dear Victor S, Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful rooms and location. If you booked a rate that includes the breakfast and umbrella package, the confirmation email specifies the breakdown of the package and the $60 breakfast allowance. We apologize if there was any confusion. Late check-out is provided based on room availability. We regret that we couldn't accommodate your request for a later checkout due to the popularity of some room types. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to welcome you back to the resort in the future.

Planned a long weekend getaway with fiance since we have never been to Naples. Overall I would say Edgewater is average and lacking on a few things. I will start with the good things. Beach is beautiful and very soft. We had a tower king suite 5th floor good view of gulf with pool right in front of us. Room was pretty spacious. They could include a stove and more bottles of water per day. The water pressure in shower was absolutely terrible and so low it barely felt like I took a shower. Balcony was nice but could have more comfortable chairs. Complimentary coffee was nice but they literally had no flavored creamer anywhere. There should be a complimentary breakfast for over 1000$ a night fee. Food at beach was ok service fairly slow and lacking enough workers especially during “spring break” I really enjoyed the turkey club. The mixed drinks at beach were high priced and very small I thought. Need more bathrooms outside by pool. The two they have are very small and busy and stuffy. Need ventilation fans in hotel room bathrooms as well. The fact that you have to wait in line each day at 9am to get a “front row” seat at beach is ridiculous. It should be first come first serve starting at 7am. The fire pit by pool should stay lit past 11pm. The worker shut it off each night at 1055pm. Overall an ok place but way overpriced at over 1000$ a night. I don’t think I’ll be back in the future.

We spent a week at this hotel, it is nicely placed on the beach in Naples. The suite rooms are well appointed with everything you might need for your stay, including microwave, and full size fridge. A coffee machine and coolers were provided.
Although the rooms do not have washing machines or driers in them there is a dedicated area where you can wash and dry your items if you need to. The hotel will also provided the washing powder

The staff at the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful, especially with setting up for the beach and pool area.

The restaurant breakfast were good and the meal we ate in the restaurant one evening was nicer than some we had, had on 5th avenue and 3rd street.
I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back when in this part of Florida.

I will certainly

We’ve stayed at the Clearwater Opal Sands Resort 2 years ago so assumed this place would be great. Wrong! Very old and outdated. We have a family of 7 so with paying close to 2grand a night over the 4th of July you’d think it would be awesome. Checked in on July 2nd for a 7 night stay, upon arriving at our 2 bedroom beach front premium suite, we were disappointed at first sight at the older outdated accommodations and then to see that bedroom two had one bed bare to the mattress with the dirty sheets and blankets on the floor, like they started to clean it and just quit. So you call the front desk and they say housekeeping will be right up to take care of it. Well after at least 3-4 calls to the front desk and two in person visits to the front desk, they finally had our dirty bedding replaced approximately 7 hours after we initially called them. That’s totally unacceptable. Other than that and it just being old and in desperate need of renovating, I really can’t comment much because we decided not to waste our family vacation there. They were somewhat accommodating in that they allowed us to reduce our stay to two nights from 7 but increased our rate for those 2 nights and initially charged us over 2,200 early checkout fee that we were able to get refunded by driving and staying the rest of the week in Clearwater since it was another Opal property. Actually we only stayed at Edgewater one night, less than 24 hours, and just dished out more money to pay for 2 rooms at Holiday Inn Express in Ft Myers on July 3rd last minute as even it was nicer and cleaner. FYI, Opal Sands Clearwater is a clean, fun, nice place to stay. The Edgewater website pictures make things look much nicer than they are, I should have realized as much when they don’t really let you see but one generic picture for the 2 bedroom premium suite. All in all lessons learned at a high price but we had to salvage the vacation for the kids and that’s what we did in the end. Oh one more thing, parking is very limited and very tight, good luck if you have a large vehicle like a Yukon XL or similar.

Wonderful stay at the Edgewater beach hotel by Opal!! The rooms in the tower suite building have breathtaking panorama views of the pools, gulf and beach. Our room had a double balcony. The hotel staff are spectacular and the service was outstanding. The staff checks in on you via text and rush over requested items to your room. The bar and restaurant were lovely and delicious. We would definitely stay again. The room was clean and fully equipped with a kitchen (minus range), microwave, toaster, utensils, serve ware , Nespresso machine with large capsules, robes, and Nest bath products.

We have been going to this hotel for over 20 years now, and it never disappoints! The staff is always friendly and helpful! The spacious rooms are updated and include basic kitchen supplies. There are new complimentary washers and dryers on the lower level and the desk has soap if needed. The outside areas are attended to regularly and kept neat and clean. They also offer a free shuttle to 5th street that never disappoints. We will not stay anywhere else in Naples! Highly recommend and cannot wait to return.
