I've lived in the area all my life, but just recently me and some buddies decided to go camping at Hurricane Lake for the first time. We stayed on the south side at the primitive camp grounds, and all my expectations where exceeded. The view from my tent was picture perfect, and the sites had all a primitive campground needed...

We camped here Oct 2014. Only $10. Well worth it. South side is primitive. No water and no electricity. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit. Each site has plenty of room, however there is no brush or barrier for privacy between sites. No reservations. Just show up and pick your site. Bathrooms by the entrance were...

Hurricane Lake Campground is the perfect place to get away from it all! The facility is basic but very well kept. There are both standard camper hook ups and primitive camping spots. We spent 2 nights there in June 2014 and camped in our tent. The bathroom has two stalls, two sinks and 2 showers. Its a very nice place...

When we first got to blackwater forest we stayed at the Blackwater river State park and were annoyed by the giant RV's with blaring big screen tv's and obnoxious occupants. if your idea of camping is watching football and sleeping indoors id suggest the state park. Hurricane lake on the other hand is nothing like that. Its considered primitive because...

Overall our experience was great. We really didn't catch anything but the area is nice and it's great to bank fish and use the pier for fishing. We will go back and try with a boat next time.

Hurricane Lake Campground Munson, FL We have stayed at this campground several times with Family and small children and have never been disappointed. This locations is for TENT CAMPERS (or Pop-up campers) only... The restroom is old but clean with no hot showers - toilets only. Fire Pits and picnic tables are provided at each of the 15-20 campsites. There...

Stayed at the Southside Hurricane Lake campground on 1 Dec 07. It's a cool peninsula basically surrounded by water. There are only maybe 15 campsites and they're spaced pretty well. Some of the ground is uneven, but I slept well. The scenery is great, and if you hop in the car you can drive to the bridge over the Blackwater...
