The Hotel Shelley is product of a flawless marriage between comfort and affordability. Accommodations are simple, comfortable with uncomplicated minimalist designs in light woods with marble bathrooms. Located just steps from the ocean, the Shelley is a favorite to travelers who enjoy an unpretentious atmosphere and prime location at a good price. Our vibe is chill. We're talking bathing suits and flip flops… all day long. The laid-back ambiance and gracious staff of the Shelley prove ideal to the casual traveler who's looking for a place where anything goes.
I was at the hotel for eight days with my 2 children 7 and 12 and 2 dogs. We travel alot and where just in paris for a week prior to coming here. Never have i been charged all these cost. We did not have the room cleaned do to the dogs but nothing was ruined. They charged us $353 saying we ruined 6 pillows, 6 pillow cases 6 sheets, 4 duvet covers and 2 comforters. we only had two beds and i am not even sure how they come up with these number. Still disputing with management. I think someone that works there must have taken them and said they were ruined. I ASKED FOR PICTURES OF THESE ITEMS BUT NOTHING YET. Lets see what happens next. SO scary.

It’s 2024 and the hotel still uses bait and switch. After you book your non refundable stay they great you at the desk with news of a 30 dollar a day room charge and an additional hundred dollar deposit. No parking and definitely not beachfront, don’t forget to ask for a towel if you plan on showering. This place is a scam. The check in took an hour as 1/3 of the people in it were waiting to complain. Save yourself from feeling taken advantage of and choose a real hotel.

5 star FFFFF Charged me 2 X times for resort fee (4 towels soap etc.) Mattress was the most broken down lumpy peace of crap in the USA. Noise coming from the hallways after midnight. No convenient wall out lets, only 3 not electronic friendly. I put this hotel in the category of a back stabbing thief.

Had to book in at the hotel across the road!!! Small room, dirty windows, dark and dinghy room. Felt very unsafe there, no security. The safe in the room was not fixed to floor or wall, you could just pick it up and walk off with it!! Most of the electric plugs are very loose, didn’t hold the plug in!! Tried to change room but was unable to. It felt like you was in ‘the hood’!! Overall a really bad experience, I would avoid this hotel! South beach is not that great either!!

If you are staying more than a night think it twice, as it is not comfortable. I just stayed 11 nights paying rates over 200 USD and this is what I think. They clean your room every 4 days if you are lucky, no one at front desk 90% time. The rooms look new but smell damp and moldy due to poor ventilation. Common areas with carpets look dirty, no elevator or friendly for people with mobility issues. You can't communicate with frontdesk if in need as phones dont work and are there just for decoration. If you need to dry your hair with hairdryer forget about it, as guess what? electric sockets don't work. The hotel is a historical hotel, at a prime location but needs to be better kept as it looks dirty and runned down. You will find recepcionist If you are lucky laying down at a couch with blanket included, lounging. If you arrive 11 p.m onwards be aware weird men lingering around main entrance to hotel hassling females.…

Quick weekend getaway for my husband and I. Good, clean hotel, conveniently located on Collins Ave, a block from Ocean Ave where all the action is! Muscle Beach is right there, and the beach is smoke-free and clean and the water was warm. The surrounding blocks were vibrant with restaurants and bars, great people watching and we had late night drinks at the Versace Mansion. Julio was the person that checked us in. You will have to pay $20 to check in early (before 3pm) and if you paid for the room in full ahead of time on the Hopper app like we did, you will have to pay a resort fee of $50+ right then. Make sure you ask for your beach towels. Also you get two free drinks from 5-6pm across the street at their sister property, The Chesterfield which was cool. Vodka or Gin only. It's a nice touch, two free drinks per night, even if its well drinks. Otherwise, the hotel was quiet, clean, beds were comfortable and the pillows were heavenly. I have neck issues so it was super comfortable! Now that we know about some of the extra fees (early check-in and resort fees), we'll be better prepared next time around. We will definitely go back. …

Stay away from this place. It is in a nice position but it is literally falling apart an unsafe. When we arrived the lady at the front door told us that our door was malfunctioning so our key won't work, we had to ask somebody working there to use their own key to open our door every time. In the morning nobody was there, we waited for 20 minutes for somebody to show up, we called the number that they provide and nobody answered. We were lucky we saw the lady from the night shift, walking in the street (probably going home) and she managed to open our door. We had tour booked and we were very lucky to make it on time! In addition, during the night the fire alarm started beeping every 30 seconds (like when it needs to repalce the battery or to be cleaned, I guess they don't care about proper maintenance and safety). We contacted the front desk, they told us nothing could be done so we had to stay in the room, uncapable of sleeping for the whole night. The lady at the front desk gave us a email address to contact because she assure that we were entitle for a refund since all the problems we had. But guess what? they never replied to my emails, and when I managed to contact the place though other ways, they REFUSED to refund me! Luckily we only had one night paid, so we left as soon as we can the next day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, SLEEPING ON THE STREET IS BETTER THAN THIS HOTEL…

Let me start by saying the staff and location was great. Now for the bad reviews. You have to check in, get supplies for your room across the street. I’m not sure what the resort fee was for because the happy hour sucked. You get a choice of 2 cheap liquors. Roaches and fleas were noticeable and lastly, I was accused of smoking in my room and was charged $250. I followed the rules and smoked outside. They said they had proof of me smoking in my room but they never provided the proof. Let’s just say that we will not stay at this establishment again.
