Many guests compliment the hotel's cleanliness and comfortable rooms, although there are mentions of additional fees for cleaning services. Detailed Reviews
We loved our Sonder stay! We didn’t realise, probably due to lack of research, that the Sonder hotel is split up in to 3 or 4 separate buildings - all within the same compound. We were located in ‘Bel Aire’ on the 3rd floor. From the street on our arrival, we saw ‘Kenmore’. That is the name of the hotel Reception building. It did confuse us a tiny bit at first. Check in is via the app. You don’t need to go in to reception, which we did. You can go straight to the room detailed in the app, and open the door with the app on your phone.
The room was huge, which helped with all of our luggage. The air conditioning was amazing, being from the UK, we needed to cool off occasionally from the Miami heat. Any extra towels, soaps, toilet papers, etc. can be collected from various points around the hotel, for free, at your leisure, for ease.
Location wise, it was super handy for most things. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach front hotels, shops, restaurants, etc. Next to the hotel is a rack of City Bikes, which we hired. $35 for 3 days use, per person. These are located all over the city, just return the bike and grab another via the app, at any time in your 3 days. Or pay again.
The hotel pool was really lovely! It possibly isn’t big enough for the number of guests, as it was full every day, or rather every sun bed was taken, by 10am. But that is often the case at most resorts.
The only one tiny thing I would make issue with is the fact I popped in to reception on Monday asking for a room refresh on Tuesday, per the 24 hour notice rule. Tuesday came, no clean. I messaged on the app and was told it can’t happen today. But they’ll come tomorrow (Wednesday). This felt pointless to me as we check out on Thursday. So my advice would be to request it via the app, as I can’t help but feel my more informal request was forgotten about. It doubt it can be, from via the app.

Great location a few steps from ocean drive and consequently from the beach, large room equipped with towels and personal care products (shampoo, shower gel, conditioner), iron with ironing board, fridge, kettle, TV, coffee machine, hairdryer. Very comfortable bed with 4 pillows available, adjustable air conditioning, outdoor and indoor common areas where you can have meals, microwave and free water refill. Even after Check-out time you can have your luggage kept aside until the time of departure. Super recommended.

This hotel and staff are amazing! They were always helpful and had fantastic suggestions on restaurants, and places to visit. The location is also centrally located and within walking distance of anything you can think of. Miami beach area is mostly metered parking so it was nice to not have to deal with that. I came for my daughter’s birthday and told them prior, so they decorated the room for our arrival. I am in the aviation industry and wish that they had Sonder properties everywhere because that would be my go to chain! Thank you for a great stay! Cant wait to return or try their other properties.

This hotel has the most ridiculous check in experience, and this persistence in using poorly implemented technology continues throughout your stay.
Shortly after booking I was sent an email marked “urgent” telling me that I “must” pre-register in order to be eligible to use my hotel booking. This process is more convoluted applying for a country visa or bank loan. You must upload your ID in just the right way along with a video of your face, and you won’t know if you passed this test until some minutes later. I had to do this 3 times.
They don’t give you a key, they give you a 6 digit code or a buggy app to unlock the door. This app method will not work the first time so you’ll always be fumbling around to get into your room.
You are not allowed room cleaning every day. You can pay for cleaning but that must be summited the day prior, may have a cost depending on your booking, and must be done through the app but the app wasn’t accepting reservations. Even to have fresh towels or sheets you must request that 2 days in advance.
Such a silly experience. It seems they want to use new technology to improve the experience but they got it so wrong.

It’s a glorified motel or hostel for grown ups.
The photos on the website are the exaggerated version of what it actually is.
The pool is sad, sad, sad. The rooms are fine if you are looking for “prison chic.”
The front desk person was so rude and seemed annoyed the minute we walked up to the check in desk.
The walk to the room was scary - tightest hallway with a strong and cheap scent, loud noises, food and towels strewn everywhere.
The only good thing about this experience was that they did give us a full refund once we saw the room and ran out as fast as we could.
The price is a deal compared to the nice hotels in south beach but I don’t think it’s right that the actual establishment and amenities are such a far departure from the photos depicted on the website.

My stay at Sonder The Deco (Dec 29, 2023 - Jan 2, 2024, Confirmation Code: 145252946) was an absolute disaster, a far cry from what any decent hotel experience should be.
First off, the check-in process was a complete joke. Left to fend for ourselves with an app that required a code we never received, the reception was less than helpful. It took multiple pleas to get any assistance.
The room was a horror story. We walked into a dirty room – an immediate red flag considering their exorbitant rates. But the real nightmare was the air quality – or the lack thereof. The windows were fully fogged, the room unbearably damp. Our clothes were drenched in moisture, reeking of mustiness. Desperate for some air, we resorted to opening the door to the corridor!
We asked for cleaning – a request so simple yet apparently too complex for their staff. Ivan, whom we spoke to, completely forgot to log our request, leaving us in those dismal conditions.
Interacting with Anna at reception was like talking to a wall – only worse, as she continuously interrupted and dismissed our concerns.
This place is a farce, charging $315 a night for what can only be described as a stay in a damp, neglected chamber with appalling service. I strongly urge anyone considering this place to rethink. It's not worth your money or peace of mind. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else that actually values its guests.

Bed/pillows were nice. Most rooms look at a wall with some palm trees 10 feet from other rooms’ windows so not much privacy or views, but after requesting a room with a view they moved us to a room with pool view in 2 days. Overall everyone working was nice but some employees would not even say “Good Morning” or “hello” when you met them in the grounds or corridors…
The only major problem is the cleaning of rooms which is not good at all so the rooms now need maintenance. Chipped paint, dirty fixtures and mold, hair at different places etc.

Great location in South Beach! Plenty of bars and restaurants are very close by. The rooms are solid with enough space, AC and nice but small bathrooms. Unfortunately the elevator didn’t work during the stay, which wasn’t a big deal for us, though. A public parking garage which costs about 20$ per day is very close, so the much more expensive valet service is not required. The room could’ve been a little cleaner though - also some smell was present in the room, whenever entering it from the outside it was quite noticeable - we weren’t able to tell what it was. Also, the gym is tiny - and the single treadmill was out of service.
TLDR; solid place to stay in Miami Beach, cheaper than regular hotels with room service and daily cleaning! Not the best but would still visit again.

Room Tip: Use the public parking garage behind the police station which is much cheaper!

We spent 3 nights at the Probe....
First of all, be careful! Because there are lots of Probe in Miami beach and we got to the wrong place based just on the name Probe... (Uber).
Before arriving, you have everything: room number and code, floor...
You can practically dodge the lobby with the rather impersonal Check in.
First downside: elevator (still) broken down (see other previous comments).
We were on the 4th and last floor....and alone to carry our big luggage....Medium...
Other drawbacks: the surroundings of the pool that are never cleaned (disgusting tables and floor littered with plant residues and various detritus).
Common areas could also be cleaner.
There is no cleaning done in the rooms, nor change of towels, except by paying. Personally, we didn't mind.
Apart from these comments, the rest is positive!
Very quiet room (1406), large, bright, clean.
A coffee maker and teapot with unlimited tea and capsules.
In the entrance hall is a water fountain, very convenient.
Ready towels for the pool.
Attention, only one pool for the 3 hotels in the group.
Pension very well placed, a super French bakery right across the street where you can buy something to make a feast for breakfast and buy quiches for lunch (exquisite), several supermarkets too, a Burger King that helps and an Indian (for a change)....
There is also a rooftop but few people seem to go, nice to take pictures.
In short, we recommend this Pension

I recently stayed at the Sonder Deco in Miami Beach and had an amazing experience. The property perfectly blends modern amenities with a classic art deco vibe, offering a unique and stylish atmosphere. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a great kitchen area. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and nightlife, yet still quiet enough for a peaceful retreat. The staff was friendly, responsive, and helpful with all my requests. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Miami Beach!
