Stayed here one night prior to a cruise from Miami Port. So if you judged this hotel by the reception area alone it would get good reviews, however when you get into the old elevators and onward to your room, you realise this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Its tired

Hello! As we learned, there is really nothing but other hotel restaurants (so there are going to be up-charges just for that). You can find nice little hotel cafes about a 15-20 minute walk north or south on Collins Avenue that may have better prices than the resort. I found that the resort's pool bar and gill prices were reasonable considering the neighboring hotel lunch prices. But for dinner, we always ventured to South Beach in search of a restaurant for less than $100 for a family of four.
