Booked this hotel for 2 nights. This hotel was so horrible we literally left an hour and a half after checking in. Elevator in building 2 not working so they had to move us to a different building. The room literally smelled like cat piss. The room was clean but the smell was absolutely horrible. Water wasn’t working in the lobby, wifi wasn’t working in the lobby to check guests into the hotel. Mosquitos in the room. Absolutely horrible experience. We took the loss we paid for the room but our travel credit card said refunding us shouldn’t be an issue. Beware. Absolutely do not book here. I’m serious. Another guest in the same building as us was complaining about roaches in her room. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The Riviera Hotel oozes the art deco of South Miami and I loved it's mixture of class, style and homliness. We stayed twice, either end of a cruise and both times the rooms were immaculately clean and carefully prepared. The reception and management really do care about making your stay the best and that was consistent. A huge thanks and shout out for Rina, Levia, Christina and Priscilla. Love your passion and smiles. Being art deco the buildings are not large, and our rooms were in the building across the road. It was worth it and we loved the bamboo secluded heated pool there. The hotel was quiet but only half a block from great restaurants and the beach.

I had a fantastic time at Riviera Suites. The front desk staff Beyoncé and Pricilla were great and check in was smooth. They gave me a great room. Bar staff is friendly too. Room was awesome, cleaned regularly, etc. rooftop pool is fun too. I worked remotely and enjoyed myself too. The location is near everything but not loud which is great. Awesome dance bar a block away but you don’t hear it. Highly recommended

Sadly deteriorated, needs improvement management and housekeeping. 939471560 very disappointed with our second stay in this hotel. First impression is that it's like entering a refugee camp, with crowded guests sitting around with their suitcases unable to book in. So we waited as well - it was 2.30 pm and several guests told us they'd been waiting since 9am. Not a good look and there were no seats left and apparently nowhere to safely store their bags so they could go off. When we were shown our suite - across the road from reception - we were immediately struck by the stink of cannabis - which had also been evident in the street. But it was lingering in the corridors for all three days and nights of our visit, even first thing in the morning. Maybe the staff and cleaners cannot help that. But it was worrying that smoking of any kind was clearly permitted in the hotel rooms. I checked out the fire escape just in case. OUR SUITE NEEDED SEVERAL REPAIRS. 1. The glass cooker hob was severely cracked in several places and was too dangerous for us to use. The toilet flush was temperamental and refused to work sometimes. The glass shelf above the basin was falling off so we couldn't put any toiletries on it. One of the remote controls for the TV didn't work. Coffee and cream never arrived together. As this was the only "complementary thing provided it was irritating. Sure when I asked some was delivered - one or the other but never both! I reported all the other issues. Someone came and sloshed the cistern but it still played up again. NOW GIVEN THAT THE STAFF HAD HAD SEVERAL HOURS EVERY DAY TO CLEAN AND REPLENISH ALL THE ROOMS, SURELY THESE MATTERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND ANY REPAIRS ORDERED IMMEDIATELY? WE CHECKED OUT ON THE DOT. I don't know if the staff encourage or know some of the oddbods who seem to hang round the hote and sit on the chairs on the porch day and night but it makes the place seem insecure. one regular was staggering about in the road and especially alarming. Especially as we never saw anyone behind the bar in our own building in the reception area and it was pretty clear that non-residents could get in and access the rooms and garden. We didn't see this in any other hotel we stayed at in Florida or in any of the surrounding hotels - many of them also not swanky. We like funky hotels but not shabby ones which are poorly maintained - espedcially to the extent that it feels unsafe. So obviously we will not be booking to stay here again. We'd already paid in full in advance so we had no option but to stay. It was clear from the attitude on the desk that there would be no chance of a refund if we checked out early and stayed somewhere else so we stuck it out. That is supported by other comments. Shame as it's in a lovely position and could be lovely. As it was last time we stayed in 2019. BTW, I know its Miami, but it seems weird that NOBODY speaks ENGLISH in this hotel, or understands it. The room maids were sweet but I suspect they were over worked and underpaid and none I spoke to understood or spoke English.

This business is dishonest! Charged us for mini mar items we didn’t touch. Many have same complaints on Google. BEWARE!! Also saw a cockroach in the elevator on our first night. Cleanliness is average. Do your research and find a better place to stay.

We paid our deposit using one of our credit cards. When we arrived in December we did not have the credit card we used for the deposit. We used another credit card to pay the balance but they said it need it to be the same credit card so we paid the full amount using a new credit card and they were supposed to refund our money in the next few days! Guess what happened? They did not make the refund to the bank and it is impossible to call the hotel as they never answer. I have sent a lot of emails to the Manager and he sent us a screen shot showing the refund but it is from a spread sheet. He just said they did the refund and so sorry if other institutions are not giving us the money back! I am very disappointed because we have an exceptional credit score and the bank can not help us! It is very frustrating!

This is an excellent hotel close to Ocean Drive. Very comfortable rooms. There is an outdoor bar/cafe too. Live music too, certainly last night. Very friendly staff. We would recommend this hotel for a visit to Miami and would love to come back.

BEWARE!!! They're scamming people. They charged my credit card for the minibar, without my authorization, for purchases that I did not make. This was after they printed a receipt stating my balance owing was "0". Why do you keep doing this to people??? I've ready the same thing has happened to many others. You better find another system for keeping track. And, of course, they do NOT reply to any phone calls or emails. Pretty pathetic customer service from Mark Kelly (GM). Definitely won't be recommending this place unless I receive some compensation (ie. my money they owe me).

Stayed here for Christmas! I was 100% satisfied with the location, my room, the management, and the cappuccino :) The hotel is very cute, and has a rooftop deck with a pool. The managers Priscilla and Mark were so kind to me and seem to genuinely care about their guests experience. I was greeted by Mark the day I arrived - and he was super cool! He helped me figure out parking in the area, and also made sure I had a nice room with a great balcony. I practiced yoga on my balcony many mornings and Loved it! I also met the assistant manager, Priscilla on Christmas eve. Priscilla was very kind - she listens and cares about her guests. She noticed that I was having a hard time with some things and she took the time to chat with me. She is certainly a person with dignity and compassion. For the price I paid per night I was more than happy with my stay. So if you see these room rates for a unbelievably low price (150 per night or below) don't wait to book....I have stayed at many boutique hotels in Miami/SoBe and this one was one of the best. Traveler tips: If you are renting a car, avoid electric vehicles because there are no convenient charging stations nearby. Parking in the area is complicated but doable, just pay attention to the signs. There is absolutely no free parking anywhere but you can park in the parking deck for $40 per day or $4 per hour on the street Walk into Sweet Liberty and see if you can catch a cool vibe and a bite to eat, No Cover and walking distance from hotel The beach is a super quick 4 min walk from hotel
