Nestled in Miami's bustling Brickell neighborhood, East Miami hotel garners accolades for its generous room sizes, modern comforts, and striking views. Guests have called out its convenient location, just a stone's throw from top-notch shopping and entertainment. The hotel's serene and luxurious atmosphere, highlighted by a rooftop bar and inviting pools, is frequently praised. While the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel generally receive high marks, a few visitors have experienced service hiccups. The value proposition is debated, with some concerns over charges, but many find the amenities and breakfast to be worth the expense.

I had the most wonderful experience at East Miami. My entire stay was seamless, and the entire staff was helpful and very nice. Housekeeping did a phenomenal job cleaning the room, everything was spotless and cleaned very professionally! From the bed, to the bathroom, and the floors, everything was so clean.
I will definitely be coming back and recommending East Miami to friends and family.

Stayed at this hotel for a birthday weekend. Before going I did a virtual tour and noticed there was not a fridge in the room. It was my first time away from my child and I am a breastfeeding mother, so it was vital that the room had a fridge to store pumped breastmilk. I called and requested a fridge and was told it was first come first serve but they would put it in the reservation notes. They did exactly this but when we got to the room the fridge was just sitting on the counter not plugged in with an awful smell. They quickly fixed it which was nice and swapped it out. The fridge ended up being plugged in near the entry way of the room. Next day we come back to the room which had stored breast milk in the fridge and the housekeepers unplugged it!! My milk was wasted! As we had been gone from the room for some time. I called and asked that housekeeping not come in anymore as they also threw away several of my unfinished water bottles that were in the room that I still drink from. Not sure why they would throw anything away that was not in a trash can. Anyways the next day we left out the room pretty late maybe about 3/4 pm we come back and again housekeeping had been in the room. Nothing was done this time but it was just the fact that I didn’t want people touching my things as they rearranged all of my personal belongings on the bathroom counter and I had things arranged to my personal preference. Also the valet was an issue. One time they lost the keys to the rental but the biggest thing was there was a big scuff on the rental car and we had not drove it since picking it up from the airport and arriving at the hotel. Only the staff at the hotel are allowed to touch the cars so someone there had to have did something. I did call to report it but was left on hold so long and I was trying to enjoy my short stay in Miami that I just hung up because I had damage protection on the rental anyways. The hotel at night lines are long to get to elevator due to people going to the bars at the hotel. Other than these minor issues the hotel was very nice. Stay was comfortable. Beautiful roof top and pool area. Attached to the mall which was cool and great location. I do think there are other hotels that are not as expensive that could deliver just as good or better service but this location was perfect. I would stay again.

We stayed at the residences. Those rooms are spacious, comfortable and well maintained. Connected to the shopping center down stairs.

Swimming pool is nice during the week, but impossible to get a sun-bed during the weekend. Food service there and in the restaurant was really good.

Housekeeping service is good but slow (sometimes room wasn’t cleaned until 4-5 pm), which was not really comfortable for us traveling with a baby.

Breakfast was good.

The room was extremely dark both at night and strangely during the day even with the blinds open. The lights in the room weren’t very bright or positioned in a way to actually be useful. They also would all randomly turn on / off at odd times. My husband and I both struggled to sleep since sound proofing is seemingly non existent. We live in a big city / high rise so noise doesn’t generally bother us but we could hear everything in the hallway, in our neighbors room, upstairs, and outside (despite being on a high floor) which woke us up countless times at night. We also must have been next to a staff room or something because during the day, starting pretty early, the sound of a door repeatedly opening and slamming in the hallway drove us crazy. The bed is firm (personal preference to have a softer bed) so woke up with back aches which progressively got worse over our stay and in general just didn’t get a comfortable or good night sleep due to noises and the poor mattress quality. The bedding also had several stains on arrival which made us feel the room wasn’t given much attention to overall cleanliness. We let it go the first night because of how tired we were but grew increasingly grossed out by it when we noticed more so requested housekeeping change the bedding which turned into an unnecessary fiasco. When the housekeeper came hours later, we reminded her about the request to change the sheets / bedding which was met with an eye roll and “sure” from the housekeeper. Well, she decided to not fulfill the request and sprayed something instead of changing them because the sheets were now wet with the same stains. We had to call again and were pretty much brushed off and dismissed being told they can’t guarantee or tell us when or if they would be by to change the sheets (about 5 hours had now passed from the original request). Being pregnant, I was tired and was hoping to get a nap in, which I told them, and they weren’t empathetic or seemed to care at all so if you’re trying to take a midday nap and need something, good luck - they don’t care. The towels also were ripped / fraying / stained so overall felt cheap and not like the higher end hotel they are trying to be. We won’t be returning to this hotel as there are other more comfortable, quieter, and with better service options available for the price point that has been easier, more welcoming, and more helpful/timely in resolving issues during our stays.

We enjoyed our family stay at East Miami. convinient location if you just want to walk around .. no need to get in the car … restaurants, ice cream shops, stores, also loves the fact that it has a door that leaves you right next to Bath and body and after 10 pm they look the door and you have to go to the main entrance.. Also Sugar is located on the rooftop of the hotel .. if its a saturday night? more of an adult vibe.. and also they close the front of the hotel with a bank type rope and unless you are staying there you cant be walking in to the hotel.. My sister and hubby came by after 10 to do a quick visit , and they had to wait for me to come get them downstairs .. Great security , Loved that .. service for items like ice requested wont take that long .. at least they answer the phone at front desk …. Very modern decor from the switches and controls for lights and bathroom , and also the screen downstairs to catch the elevator was cool , you have to swipe your key and it shows you which elevator is for you, cool feature… shower is very spacious and loved the shampoo, cond. and body wash. The only complaint I have balconies are tiny… and too close together… and I have allergies and I had to deal with some dust flying in the air while you move the curtains to open and cloth… but still enjoyed our stay 😉

The hotel looks nice, a bit retro and funky with nice design.
The rooms do not provide amenities such bathroom vanity set with cotton pads. The room doesn’t provide robe or slippers and I believe that the shower gel and the shampoo are the same thing.
The bed and pillows are ok. The buttons that connect to the room lighting are on the left side of the bed and cannot be changed, be mindful that the rooms are small. There is a balcony in the room I had but it’s very exposed, so very windy. But I guess it’s nice when the day is ok.
The pressure of the water in the bathroom sink is low and it comes in shower rain which is weird. The pressure of the shower is average, nothing to highlight. Hairdryer wasn’t fancy but worked ok.
The gym looks more glamorous on the website than in reality but it’s ok, there are Peloton cycle machines etc. and provide around 2 classes per day which is cool, I didn’t try any because of the times (8 am is too late for me).
Service is not very responsive and a bit slow…
Location is by the mall where you have shops and few restaurants. The mall isn’t very big and the shops are a mix between luxury and average like Channel and Sephora. It’s open air. In the area there are restaurants and bars so if you don’t wanna stay by the Beach or in South Beach, the area is nice.
The Bar upstairs is nice with a view but service is terrible. We had a drink and were wondering to have one more but nobody would care about looking after us so we wouldn’t bother to beg to order another drink.
Overall, don’t expect luxurious experience or 5 star hotel, amenities or service. I wouldn’t pay high rate to stay in the East Miami either.

So I frequent Miami rather often—a mixture of work and pleasure. Depending on my needs and itinerary during a particular visit, I choose to stay in Brickell or South Beach. The last few times when I’ve needed to stay in Brickell, my hotel selection had been EAST Miami. However, after this 4th stay with them in October might’ve been my last. #1: While still nice enough, I’ve noticed is that the rooms have become a little rundown. I get that wear and tear is unavoidable as the property ages and more guests visit, but that doesn’t mean that plumbing or flooring should go neglected. #2: The housekeeping is just not as attentive as during my earlier stays. Going into day #3 of our stay and housekeeping stilll hadn’t come to service our room. At the end of day #2 we had to call the front desk and ask for another roll of toilet tissue (which should’ve tipped them off there). #3: While I wouldn’t say all of the front desk are cold and non-personable, a handful of them certainly are. I’m just not used to that in such a touristy town like Miami. Staff needs to be trained/retrained. The most pleasant front desk associate was a gentleman from NY who’d checked us in. Such a nice guy! #4: The pool area was once enough for me, but unfortunately not anymore. It’s just too small and not enough space to really have a private enough experience away from families with small kids or folks trying to get “the perfect IG shot”.

The love affair was real while it lasted, EAST, but I think it’s time that we part ways. I will however come back for Sugar (drinks and small bites are always solid)! =)

Dear Rachel. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. Even though we are not able to cross reference your name with a registered guest, allow us to review on the points raised. #1: As every property, despite being only 6 year old building, we have many ongoing programs for maintenance, plumbing, flooring, painting, enhancements, that are taking place throughout the hotel in units that are in rotation out of service, so we can constantly maintain our edge and our guest's experience. #2: Unlike other brands (including some international heavyweights) who have done away with daily service since the pandemic, we still provide daily service for all our guests, between the hours of 9:30am and 5pm. A guest can always request a preferred cleaning time and we will accommodate in sequence accordingly. #3: We (just as the entire hospitality industry) are indeed in a post-pandemic hiring spree to accommodate the peak travel and leisure sector that has skyrocketed more than the return of hospitality professionals. As such, we have many ongoing training programs throughout our departments, and we certainly take your comments in serious consideration and as training tool to keep enhancing our team's fit within our culture of care and effortless stay for our guests. #4: As a city hotel we have a very sizeable pool deck with 4 seperate pool/plunge areas, but we do understand that you would like to change up your experience to more of a beach property with a resort feel. Thank you very much for having been our guest, and we are looking forward to entertaining you at Sugar/TeaRoom in the future.

Had this displeasure of dealing with Gabriel the reservations manager, according to him.

I had to call the hotel because on their website I was being offered a 30% discount for booking 3 nights or more. However, when I selected the appropriate dates it would not offer me the deal. Even though I was staying for 5 nights total.

I quickly reviewed the promotion, all of the fine print, and details to ensure I did not miss any information about the promotion being subject to certain date ranges or that blackout dates may apply. To my suspire it was not written anywhere, so I figured it was just a glitch in their website, and I rang the reservation desk.

While speaking to Gabriel over the phone he confirmed everything I was seeing on my end then said "oooh yea sorry that one there is a blackout date."

I said ok typically when resorts or hotels have blackout dates they list them in the promotion details or online so that customers can plan their trips accordingly.

Gabriel's response was "Well just play with the calendar...." as if it is the customers responsibility to platy detective and see when a promotion is available. The point of listing it or writing that the promotions are subject to date ranges or blackout dates is specifically to prevent this type of confusion and frustration.

I explained that I felt the hotel should honor the 3 day + discount as I am staying 5 nights and nowhere within the policy of the promotion or hotel does it say it is subject to a range of or specific dates.

Abhorrent customer service from Gabriel at best. No one in hotel or hospitality management should be so cold, lack empathy to such degree, and be so unwilling to help at all.

It is evident why EAST Miami had so many vacancies for the same dates while other hotels hardly had anything available.

I believe actions such as these show a lack of integrity within the culture of the establishment. If a manager is not even willing to honor a deal that is clearly mis packaged and represented then imagine what else they are willing to do.

I recommend EAST Miami gives Gabriel some intensive training on customer service and empathy. I truly believe it will go a long way.

We appreciate your feedback. However we do not have an employee named Gabriel in our Reservations department. Regarding special promotional rate availability for our hotel (and for any hotel), they are available if the date ranges entered in the reservation calendar display it as an option. If your chosen dates do not reflect a certain promotional rate, then it is not applicable on your specific date range. Such dates could be during certain holiday periods, high profile events, etc. This is not a glitch and is not specific restriction for our property alone, but it is how promotional codes operate on hotels, airlines, etc. Moreover, our website very clearly states that “Blackout dates apply”. Are you certain that you visited our official website? We would love to review the matter further with you via direct telephone contact and locate the most affordable option, or provide alternative sets of dates if you have flexibility in your plans.

I have returned recently from a 7 night stay at East. I wanted to give an honest review as I read so many mixed before travelling. On arrival check-in was very quick and efficient. Perhaps only slight negative was not an explanation of the hotel amentities. I had to ask what floors things were on etc. Our room was very clean on arrival, no issues here apart from a few items missing, no hairdryer and no trash can. We requested both. We received hairdryer but no trash can. We requested this twice more and still received nothing. We ended up using a plastic bag! Not good service from this perspective. Pool area is clean and a great place to relax. The sun is around the pool at 9am till 12ish then disappears for bit reappearing through some adjacent buildings until 2ish (I seen some negative comments regarding this, this cannot be helped and not a hotel issue. You should expect shade if you book a city centre hotel with high rise buildings surrounding) We had drinks in Quinto la Huella. We enjoyed them and staff were friendly. Sugar we didn't go to due to minimum spend (surely this should be different for guests) some nights we would have just liked one drink there before heading for dinner (hotel are losing out with revenue here). During our stay you could opt out of cleaners coming into your room and if you needed anything just request at front desk. Halfway through our stay we requested more towels and toilet roll. Returned that afternoon to new towels in our room (old ones were not taken away...strange) but there was no toilet roll. When we requested these items, the girl at desk typed our request into computer, therefore, how can this be missed. Had to call down to request again. On check out the girl at desk asked if I wanted to see my bill? Of course I do, usually when staying in Miami other hotels i.e. Mandarin Oriental and Fontainebleau they run through charges with you. When she passed my copy over that was the end of the check out. There was no 'have you enjoyed your stay with us?' 'Do you need transport?' Etc. She seemed more interested in what her colleague was texting on his phone next to her. Overall I did enjoy the stay at hotel, probably due to the location and it was clean, however I probably wouldn't stay here again due to the service. They definitely need to do better.
